You will get very similar results if you use Cinema 4D option. I always like to pre-compose my 3D models (cubes in this case). You can put any effect on the pre-composed layers.

Comment on Point! I prefer 30 Minutes Tutorials to understand what is going on there so that one Day i dont need Tutorials anymore Instead of 2 Minutes Tutorials that i have to watch over and over again cause i never learned it while just copying it! Keep it up Stephan!
Just went through the whole thing. Really cool! The only step that I think wasn't shown in the tutorial was creating the "glass scene" comp so make sure to create that after you create your "orb - animation" and "orb animation b&w" comps. Then inside of your "glass scene" comp - add the orb animation comp along w/ your orb animation b&w and do your track matte there. Thanks Stephan! 👍
Thank you so much for your comment and congrats on watching it all, it's quite a long one! Yes, I didn't want to repeat too much the simple steps, but yes, your explanation is spot on :)

That's the best AE lessons I've ever had! Without any tricks like "go there, buy this, it's cheap" or "now u need to open AI/PS/Canva and create this ant that (i will not show u how, btw)". Thank u very much for your videos!!! Complicated subjects in a simple way
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that you left the comment even though you cannot speak english well... I am not an english native either. Many thanks!
Yes, that's a great tip! I didn't show it in this case as I wanted to show the Stagger Layers feature. Totally agree... the LoopOut expressions are super handy!
damn man you finally made it love. waited too much for the orb one and that orb transprancey one was amazing. btw i was hopping you could make something about parallax scenes like how can we intergrade these motion graphics into parallax scene visualissing a scene or story
You can definitely use the loopout expression. In that case I wanted to show that specific feature in AE, but there are of course multiple ways to go about it :)
Thanks for your suggestion and comment! Yes that's a good alternative. In this case I went for a more surreal look. Caustics would definitely look great!
Sure! This tutorial tackles a few examples of Faux 3D, the spheres themselves (apart from the 3D cubes) are kind of Faux 3D. However, I agree, we can go a bit deeper in that topic. Its actually a topic which I love as it has so much potential.
Thank you for your comment :) I hvae done a video covering the basics on such backgrounds, I will continue covering that topic in more detail. Have a look here: ua-cam.com/video/R2ptKkUjgt0/v-deo.html

I wish you can do a tutorial about how to make smooth animation especially with the easing, easing is the most important aspect in motion design that makes huge difference. one of the smoothest motion design I've seen is the youtube channel called "burnwe" just look at how smooth their animations and I believe it's because of the easing techniques they use either using speed graph or value graph. I couldn't figure out what magic they use to their animations, I've tried doing it but I couldn't achieve their level especially how the easing that starts slow and snaps quickly at the end.
Yes this all have to do with the graph editor. The Graph Editor is one of the most important things when it comes to Motion Design in AE. Will surely cover more on that topic. In one of my recent video I actually go over this topic a bit and explain how to create better animations. Have a look here: ua-cam.com/video/-gXyTifOZBQ/v-deo.html

I think a better approach for the transparent sphere rotating withe the magnifier glass effect, would be exploring caustics instead of shadows.
