I met Sam at The Fun House in Seattle when Jenny Don’t and the Spurs played there in like 2018 or 2019. I was there to see Wildcat Rose the opening band. I was sitting by myself at a table by the stage and this guy asked if he join me. We struck up a conversation about music and I told him I played guitar and I was an old punk rocker and now I’m into alt country. He introduced himself, I’m Sam Henry. I’m the drummer in Jenny Don’t and the Spurs. I’m also an old punk rocker. I was in The Wipers and Napalm Beach. I told him I had seen Napalm Beach at The Metropolis in Seattle way back in the day. We talked for about 45 minutes about how punk , alt county and folk are all interconnected. I will always remember this chance meeting and our conversation. RIP Sam.
I lived in Portland for 8 years 2000-08 and I was lucky enough to know PI and I knew Sam too and he was my dope Hook up for a while 😜 Very nice and talented and missed💯❤️ Respect Sam Henry
“I just like to play no matter what instrument it is”. One of my favorite Sam moments was when he walked into Satryicon and picked up a trombone that another musician who was with the Crazy 8s brought with him from a gig earlier that night. Sam asked permission and then just casually picked it up and played the hell out of that thing. I knew that he was a musical polymath, but how he could just pick up that freakin trombone just slayed me.
are used to love to play at the longer by and at both locations of urban noise the first location was in the basement of a dance studio on the back of the block where Andy and Bax is I played there with my band rude awakening and I guy grew up with played drums for the imperials pigs I hooked him and Tom up route 1978 we were all just getting into punk rock a new wave this is a great video thanks Mike how are the euphoria Ed I think a ballet had was Mike Landauer and Geof played with rancid vat and they were determined to play before us and I always say go and laughs but Jeff Horton demanded he go on lash I said I don't think so Ad rats vet cleared the place out lol Jeff told me that he went to high school with Sam Henry in Milwaukee
The guy that produced my first album with the Ravers loved Chris Newman and the Untouchables he wanted to take them to LA he was from New York and Internet be in the second in charge at the entire universal music division but he really liked the Untouchables but their manager didn't want to sign any contracts boy that was a mistake
