I've never been to an REM show, nor have I ever met any of the band members. But Michael Stipe seems like the kind pf guy who, if he thought there was anyone in the audience suffering from some kind of mental trauma, he would stick around and give every single one of them a giant hug and tell them everything will be ok. So glad I grew up in a time where artists like REM existed.
That’s a big reason. I fell in love with this song is because he seemed like a true they would stay there for a long time to give hugs and just tell everybody everyone hurts. It’ll be OK.

I wish I could give you a big hug. I can understand how you feel, I've gone through all the same things and still have at times. I would listen to you if there was some way.
You're not alone!! I tried killing myself 3 times since I lost my parents! The last time I Slit my throat and it didn't work! I don't want to be here anymore. All I do is sleep & cry ALL DAY! I'm 63 have severe anxiety, depression, Bi-Polar and COPD on oxygen 24/7 died code blue in the hospital last year and I had signed a Do Not Resuscitate Form back in 2019 when I was hospitalized! But I woke up in ICU with a tube down my throat. The oxygen was turned into carbon monoxide they called it hypoxia. I pulled the tube out and told them I signed a DNR but they said it was their job to save people! I LISTEN TO THIS SONG ALL THE TIME AND I LOVE IT!
But I still want to be with my parents and hear their voices and most of all feel loved again! 😢💔

My nephew committed suicide aged 19, and I still think If only he could of even got through that day. My other nephew (his brother) found him hanging. He was only 14 year's old and never got over it, He turned to drink & drug's and overdosed aged 26 💔
