Much of this problem lies with the mainstream media; far easier to gain readers / watchers / subscribers / clicks if they focus on the 'empty celebrities'. Grab an annual / teen magazine from the fifties, sixties, seventies and they're packed with a range of role models. yes, pop stars etc but also explorers, sports men & women, scientists etc.

Even though trading is a bi-product of the system we have and generates little tangible value to the world you have to respect the application and dedication to the craft which develops skills which can be then put to use in more worthwhile elements of society. On the other hand some of these 'celebrities' who get rewarded having not done any groundwork. I would rather traders be the role models as opposed to celbrities because at least it leaves the youth with the knowledge that you have to learn and apply yourself to get the rewards.

Anton couldn’t be more right about the matter. His advice is a singular bi-product of pragmatic thinking. All of the people who clamour for celebrity fan fare are delusional to at least some degree (if not totally). The media has been very effective at shaping people’s views and sadly none of it is beneficial other than for the producers and advertisers of such media, in exchange for consumer viewership (idle time wasting). Sorry but the truth does hurt.
