When he was at Goldman they were giving away 1-2 mill end of year bonus, so he was really valuing his time. He means that if you are only surviving month after month (you pay all your liabilities and you spend on your needs and wants) then you are not valuing your time, you are a slave.

I think the point is people not getting a huge surplus of return for their time. The fact is they/we do get a return in form of a pay check and being able to provide shelter, food, and recreation for ourselves and our families. Now, how much more you could get for the time you've spent, that's what needs to be addressed.

A huge generalization. There are very few properly rich people, and most with large salaries on paper spend most of it throug their lifestyles. Building up the nest-egg and then going off to do something else is what everyone says they're going to do, but it's a cliche
The funny thing is, even after hearing all the education that's good for them, our everyman would still go through what they already do everyday. The risk of putting their life into their own hands is too big for them.
I have drastically cut down time wasting activities in my life cut off Instagram, snapchat, Facebook, twitter more happy and productive just now need to start my own business 9-5 is not ticking all my boxes at present. Traditional system is sold to us from school got to smash the status quo title with no money to match it LOL
I dont know why did this show in my recommended, but I think I have to say something. I mean I get his point of view, but valuing the time doesnt need to be about money, In my opinion this is narrow point of view. Not saying that he is not right, but saying that only important thing about having a job is the money, is very subjective. If you hate that job snd show there every day, then yeah, you're not valuing your time. But I actually switched to less paid job few times already, just because I wanted to try something different.
Well I don't think it is true that whatever salary is coming in, they pay the mortgage and then the rest they spend. Imagine someone with an 90K job in the City, which for a senior "something" in the big financial institutions is normal. Salary after tax every month is 5 grand. They spent 1500 in a one bedroom apartment if they want, or less if they are paying a mortgage to 25/30 years somewhere in zone 4 or beyond. they can easily save minimum £2500, in a year thats 30k. 10 years of that city job and you have 300k all saved up even without investing in anything. Add to that an ISA with 1% annual rate and other savings accounts and you could easily get to 600k or more. And that is not even investing your money on ETFs or any funds. Yeah you have to slave away 30 years of your life to get to that, but the people who retire after that life will definitely enjoy a nice retirement, and on top of that they will have a private pension with matching contributions from their employer and the government. OF course I would prefer to make that money without working 9-6 but the trader do need to watch their portfolios very closely and work for it. It is not for free. Let me know what you think!
No, none of these people "work" to produce tangible value. Finance ponzi/government contributes nothing. Production is the true determinant of economic health. We would go back to the stone age without the DOW, nasdaq could vanish tomorrow.
I don't understand Anton saying, "They're swapping their time for free." Their main liability is probably their mortgage. They're building equity by paying that mortgage, their home... and it's likely an appreciating asset over the long term. They're swapping their time to build equity and own their home outright. It isn't all for naught. Am I missing something here?
Time and freedom is the biggest and best assets in our lives. It doesn't matter if you can make more money as a corporate. People can have great lives without more time and freedom. But I think what Anton means is that people need to be aware of their financial choices they make in their lives. Spending time on your own infrastructure, building your own business and saving to be able to buy assets for cash later is the ultimate financial success. Of course, not everyone care about that, and that's their own choice. As long as they are aware that their world could have been completely different if they thought time itself is an asset. IMO :)
I wonder how the black cab driver must have felt hearing Anton say how he's baffled that this people are giving their time and getting nothing in return (Salaries of 100k and more if more senior positions in the City). What about the driver? Should he also learn to value his time properly and stop driving a taxi? Start charging 100quid per mile and get outpriced? This "learn to value your time thing is important but needs to be taken with a pinch of salt"
I am just thinking how that taxi driver suppose to feel hearing Anton sitting and talking behind his back about the corporate emploees. That driver probably earns 3-4 times less tahn those guys. :) Anton, did the driver ask you about financial education? lol
Think about the fact that these are arguably the people that haven't made it (yes even as a research analyst at CS or Goldman) and went through the system, people these days who didn't go through the system and didn't make it generally work in pizza shops or end up homeless. Adding to that the system gives you a foundation and it's about differentiating yourself from thereon. The UK is a service economy and in the modern 'era' it requires qualified professionals, perhaps not really in a place where it's a natural resource or manufacturing economy. Just my 10 cents, not that I've made it I'm a postgrad Uni of LDN student from South Africa who has found a way to go back home and differentiate himself, as has many of my peers. But yes Id say 85% in my faculty have the mindset of study, get a job and repay the loan but if they hadn't gone to Uni they would've probably ended up as construction workers or PE teachers...Life is hard, competition is frightening wherever we go unless we derive from wealth or we are born a freak of nature.
Either this thinking is very naive, or it is a ploy to get people to buy into the programme. As a corporate type, I earn a very good salary relative to my living costs, which gives me a great quality of life outside of work. I would not swap that for being a trader. My salary might increase by 50% would barely cover living costs in London and my quality of life would deteriorate exponentially.
I've seen this clip quite a few times now and I still don't get what Anton is talking about... those corporate jobs that these guys are working are probably well paid, so I don't see how they are "giving their time away for free"...
You go to work so you can pay your liabilities. the more you get paid, the more you spend. The more you spend, the less you save . Savings are the money you work for .
But it is just good. Wealthy people cannot exist without those poor people. Anton Kreil won´t spend his time to grow his potatoes or rice in the fields or sewing his pants and shirts. I´m sure he doesn't even cook or clean his house. He receives everything served. But someone has to do the work so that he can watch the monitors. Monitors made by people with low monthly salaries.
They're slaves is what hes saying. They are peons. Its hard to understand what Anton is saying especially if youre actually one of those people he is talking about. His insight is too real.
He started as the same as those people, and if they are well paid then they are getting fair value for their time spent..creating liability or asset is sometimes a personal choice....
Having a work and supporting your family, most people even enjoy their work. Take the money you get from working, daytrade it, invest it. Better than sitting on your ass doing nothing for sure.
I partially agree. Go to work, get paid, invest, try to break free. Unfortunately statistics say most people DON'T like their job, and I would say many people don't even know why they got married, or have a family. They probably did it because "that's how it is supposed to be, everybody does it"
I know that for the working class. the salary is just enough to pay the bills, with no savings left for further investment. If we can save some money for investment, then our future may be brigher. It is common fact that one day when we are not yet retired, we may ne laid off. With no passive income, we cannot carry on. Anton Kreil wants to say that our time should not be devoted to helping the companies build up wealth, but we need to value our time properly by learning how to invest or trade so that one day, we can build up our own wealth. This is not impossible, as long as we know how to spare our precious time for learning how to make money from investment.
It really is disgusting. I could see how just barely making it would be normal in a society that is just forming, but not in 2020, in first-world countries. If you are giving away all of your time and making no progress financially, you are getting screwed!! your employer is your slavemaster. You are worth so much more and they are pocketing the difference. I would try to get it from them, however. They will just replace you with a good slave. You need to find a way out!
This is an extremely sad way to view things, as well as being a huge oversimplification. Learning to value your time is indeed important and a good thing to understand in order to further yourself, but your video conveyed other ideas which are wrong
for nothing in return? my parents provided everything including a big brand new house to grow up and live in .. pantry filled never empty.. vacations.. not rich but they can afford it from working grueling jobs 40hrs + a week. . but i see your point, and thats why i have started trying to become a trader 4 yrs ago, making 35k/yr at my drywall job could not do it all alone what my parents have done, yes all from trading their time, but their time would have been spent poor and homeless if they did not work, as its really anybodys only option for the most part...
I get the point here, but he is presupposing that all of these people are living hand to mouth each month, which is not typically the case. If a person sets aside some of their monthly salary as an investment - in a mutual fund, say - then over long time horizons (20 years plus) it is absolutely possible to build a large amount of wealth. If you put away $500 monthly for 30 years and assume an annual interest rate of 5% - which is not massively unrealistic - then you'd finish up with over 400k. And if you can put away more and/or you get a more favourable rate of return over this period and/or you play for longer time periods, you can quite easily be a millionaire thanks to compound interest. It's boring, and not a get rich quick scheme, but it does work if you can be patient.

Thats realistic 👍
A huge oversimplification. Many people work in the City and build a nest egg, then go off and do something else.
A huge generalization. There are very few properly rich people, and most with large salaries on paper spend most of it throug their lifestyles. Building up the nest-egg and then going off to do something else is what everyone says they're going to do, but it's a cliche
Thats obviously a very small percentage of them do that.
The funny thing is, even after hearing all the education that's good for them, our everyman would still go through what they already do everyday. The risk of putting their life into their own hands is too big for them.
Anton is a great coach I know his team would kick ass if he coached soccer
He's a scouser, of course he would
the sad thing is that due to everyone playing into the scam, the scam perpetuates itself. everyone is looking to screw eachother.
There is so much wrong with this way of thinking if I even wanted to start dismantling it, I am not sure where should I start first...
Well this guy is up millions.
Are you?
Why is he saying people dont value their time ?
I have drastically cut down time wasting activities in my life cut off Instagram, snapchat, Facebook, twitter more happy and productive just now need to start my own business 9-5 is not ticking all my boxes at present. Traditional system is sold to us from school got to smash the status quo title with no money to match it LOL
Anton for president 👍🏽 lol
Andres Alaniz Better than Trump lol
Absolutely
Nothing wrong with working you just need a plan. Like Anton says don’t consume to much, save and invest. Just have a plant to get out of the rat race.
I'm still watching in 2021
Anton my guy, looking cool
Wow
Hard work wins. Larry Elder.
If nobody works then nothing gets done. We would go back to the Stone Age. Then we can all value our time.
Could work 1 day aweek to sustain a better life
No, none of these people "work" to produce tangible value. Finance ponzi/government contributes nothing. Production is the true determinant of economic health. We would go back to the stone age without the DOW, nasdaq could vanish tomorrow.
The point was there swapping there freetime with out buying there freedom. There outgoing expenses match there high salaries.
Never mind 😂
I don't understand Anton saying, "They're swapping their time for free."
Their main liability is probably their mortgage.
IMO :)
The ultimate red pill
I wonder how the black cab driver must have felt hearing Anton say how he's baffled that this people are giving their time and getting nothing in return (Salaries of 100k and more if more senior positions in the City). What about the driver? Should he also learn to value his time properly and stop driving a taxi? Start charging 100quid per mile and get outpriced?
This "learn to value your time thing is important but needs to be taken with a pinch of salt"
watching this as ive already begun the 12+hrs of time i have to spend because of work.... for $120.
Let this be a lesson to you don’t work for free always subtract your total from your expenses and that’s your salary and save up
In my opinion, the only thing that could have made this video better is Anton filming to this in Manhattan, NY. The crowd is 10 times larger.
I am just thinking how that taxi driver suppose to feel hearing Anton sitting and talking behind his back about the corporate emploees. That driver probably earns 3-4 times less tahn those guys. :) Anton, did the driver ask you about financial education? lol
Lol
Driver may well be self employed
London bridge before the barriers were in place
Bit judgemental don't you think?? None of us can know exactly what's going on in their lives.
Monitors made by people with low monthly salaries.
untwerf, read the replies to your comment and think about it a bit deeper and you'll understand.
Buttt . . . we need the "robot workers" to keep the system going. Thank God my money makes money for me, keeping me away out of the rat-race.
Class
99% of the UK population have no life, it's very sad.
Fully agree
I wish my dad saw it like you so he would not have delivered me into slavery.
Learning to value your time is indeed important and a good thing to understand in order to further yourself, but your video conveyed other ideas which are wrong
if they are not rich from family , maybe they work for living and surviving. who gives them salary for living and survive in this cruel world.
for nothing in return? my parents provided everything including a big brand new house to grow up and live in .. pantry filled never empty.. vacations.. not rich but they can afford it from working grueling jobs 40hrs + a week. . but i see your point, and thats why i have started trying to become a trader 4 yrs ago, making 35k/yr at my drywall job could not do it all alone what my parents have done, yes all from trading their time, but their time would have been spent poor and homeless if they did not work, as its really anybodys only option for the most part...
It's 2021 and people are STILL conditioned like Pavlo's dogs to believe trading time for dollars is effective. That's a damn shame.
Losing a bloody fortune every trade. Trying to outsmart the fed lol 😅
I managed to break free from this.
how??
