Man you made that look so easy! I wish I had seen this before attempting to put Heritage bars on my Road King Special. I ended up taking it to Harley and they charged $300. Good video
Thank you! Thanks for watching. I’ve had some practice
Never take your bike to a Harley shop. Their rates are the worst. If it's something you have the tools for and not super complicated I'd just do it yourself. There's plenty of other good shops that work on Harleys and don't rape you on labor rates as well
The fact that this is free to watch is crazy. Awesome job!
Thank you for watching! One of my first few YT videos I ever did
Thank you I was wondering why they wanted an arm and a leg to do it at Harley now I know I can just do it myself without a worry exactly the kind of video I was looking for man thank you!!!!!!!
Good deal! Thanks for watching
You made it look easy, wish i lived close to you for help. Wanted to swap bars but cant swing what shop wants to do the job. Nearly $2K with me buying parts!🥴
Wow that’s almost unbelievable man! If you’re close to north central wv/southern pa I’ll definitely help!
You da man! Thx
Thank you so much for this video!
A light coating of vasoline helps them to slip through 👍🏽
Thanks for the content!
Thanks sir! Thanks for watching. My UA-cam has been a little dry lately with working on other peoples stuff in my shop but hopefully get out here soon for some more videos 🤘🏼
You a PA fella by chance? Couldn't help but notice the Yuengling banner hung up in your garage. 💪🏻🤙🏻👍🏻
North central WV!
Brilliant. This helped a lot!!
That’s what I like to hear, thanks for watching! I post helpful videos as much as I can if you want to subscribe!
@@ClutchUpGarage I have 👌🏻
Thank you so much!
Great video! Thanks mate
Thanks for watching
Pretty straight forward 👍 I need to do my wiring on mine, can't stand the way it looks with them on the outside. Thanks for this informative video
Hey thank you for watching! It’s a pretty easy job just be patient and always take pictures before you start! You’ve got this
Thanks lil bro
Btw I call everyone I think is younger than me lil bro i mean no disrespect
Spraying a little silicone lube in the bars can help as well.
Could get a little messy but not a terrible idea!
Thanks for the video! I’m curious, can the connectors be bought at a parts store? I’d like to buy new to crimp on my new wires/switches
They sure can. Jpcycles has them or Harley them self should have them as well! Thanks for watching
Great video. Killer looking exhaust. Can I ask what exhaust is on that?
Thanks for watching! That’s a kerker exhaust. Came on the bike. Hard to come by nowadays it seems
What gauge are the individual wires? I welded up some Z-bars, and I want to do a trial run before I start unhooking my stock wires.
What switches did you buy for this? The hand controls I worked with were entirely different colors than the factory harness
V-factor if I’m not mistaken
What size are the little connectors that go into the plug that the wires connect to where can I find them
Mx150 is the size. Can find batches of the male and female connectors on Amazon! A good wire crimper helps too. In this video I didn’t have my nice crimper yet but still made it work
Should’ve fed the wiring through the hole in the top triple tree for a neater finish
Once I realized what I did I unpinned it and ran it that way haha
You'd made that look super easy bro....
Thank you! I’ve had some practice. Some bars are easier than others too
gday mate, good video but how did you go with the internal throttle wires?
Hey thanks for watching! The throttle cables are the same ones that came in the bike, I’m the type of it ain’t broke don’t fix it so I have just left them ! Might go internal with those one day
to install risers and bars shop want $1100 up to $1400 ??? harley davidson wants $1900 another shop $1000 ??? WOW ... come on its a 2004 sportster... 6'' risers... crazy prices... so sad these shops... why so much ???
I know brother it’s pretty crazy. I actually opened my own small shop last month to help people out. I try to be fair as possible. If you’re close to WV I can help you! Most shops charge minimum 6 hours up to 10+ to do bars. I can see that on baggers but small bikes that’s insane. Hope my video helps you!
First off take a hammer and smash the connector that Harley Davidson uses and just solder it together
Stagger your wire cuts next time.
Why would you stagger them when replacing the pins to plug them directly into the connector the right way and not splicing wires to each other?
@@ClutchUpGarage I see. Missed the part where you was plugging them into the connector. I just seen the cut off wires in the plug.
That's all fun and game.
Now do 13 wires on each handlebar...
Just did on a road glide. 18” meat hooks. Good times haha
