Thank you! I have watched countless diy handlebar wiring videos, and yours is by far the best - a regular guy showing other regular guys how to make it work. Gosh, you are good. Subscribed.
I know what you’re were going through my brother. I don’t know if you seen my video when I installed my bars and heated grips . It’s no joke but you’re saving $800 plus . Great job 👏🏾
I found this video a year later but for any future viewers wanted to add a couple handy trips I came across. 1 if your a fisherman, clamping a weight to cord helped get it through, 2 on the right side joining both the lines to the TBW and the controls wire was very convenient. Then just push and pull those agonizing inches past the hook. I don't know if I will choose to DIY any bars again, especially past hooks or sharp corners. Ride safe
@@nikkik6412 bars that are atleast 1.5" diameter are much easier to work with. Thick bars are much easier to work with...especially those that come in 2 or 3 pieces (Fat Baggers or KST)
Fellow Navy vet here. Thanks for your service. I bought a set of 12" KST Mayhem Baggers for my 2020 Tri Glide. I was going to send them back to KST to have them do the wiring. You saved me over $200. I never would've thought about using Vaseline. It definitely made things a whole lot easier.
I subscribed to your channel after seeing the Precision Power install with Volunteer Audio on your Road Glide. That vid convinced me to install Precision Power on my CVO streetglide. Love your channel brother !!
Thanks! How did the install go? I'm planning to upgrade the sound system on my SG. After installing the system on my RG, I can't listen to the SG radio....it sucks!
Thank you for putting this out! I bought a set of these and was thinking to myself. How the heck am I gonna install these things? Again, thank you very much for making this video!
I’m adding KST meat hooks on m Indian Roadmaster, one side has three connectors, one larger, one medium and a small connector. I think two are bundled together (I’ll relook once home) do you usually fish them through one at a time if more than two? I thought about individually or staggering them together but to where the connectors are separated enough not to bind. I’ve done easier bars prior, but not these meathook bars. TIA OEM are off, going to try later today.
I fish them through one at a time. Be sure to apply a light coat of Vaseline to the lines...makes it much easier to slide them through. I believe Finesse the Challenger has made a few handlebar install videos for Indian. You may want to check them out too
Anyone with a road glide doing bars this didn't go that easy you have 2 sharp bend and wires get bruised and throw codes having to redo mine any batwing fairing simple job
He leaves out all the important details like the chain, then when he’s struggling he cuts the part he gets stuck to when he’s finished pulling it through. !
I'm not sure what question you have about the chain, let me know and I can post a picture on Instagram. I found that nylon rope works better than the type used in the Factory 47 video. The key points that I hoped to make in the video: 1.5" diameter bars are much easier to pull wires through, using vaseline makes it even easier to pull the wires, 12" (and larger) bars require extensions/replacements of cables. I always edit videos to keep them as brief as possible, however illl try to answer any questions. I can't stress enough 1.5" bars make the job so much easier compared to 1.25" bars.
Somebody sure is going to appreciate this video! You're saving someone some big time $$.
I believe you have one of the "hidden gems" of "the average guy" style HD channels. Glad that I stumbled on it.
I appreciate that!

I've heard of people spending $1000 plus in labor for handlebar installs

That's awesome! Thanks for sharing. I always wonder if these videos actually help people!
Love the zip tie trick! Clever way to save the connectors. Thank you!
Congratulations! Great job and very informative. Thank you for sharing!
Just watched this video mate. Really good and helpfull one, I'm now a new subscriber from the UK.
Thank you!

Didn’t get that far yet. I still have to order the system. I will keep my Harley radio though because it’s a 2020
Great tutorial, thanks ❤

No problem! Hope it helps. Don't forget to get the cable extension kit from Fat Bagger if you have a 21-22 Street Gide
Very informative. Thanks
So I love all your videos, but as a fellow sailor, can’t believe you don’t know how to tie a square knot;-) keep up the great work
😂😂no sir....nots are not my specialty
Heat shrink will also work instead of tape to hold them together
That would work too. Electrical tape is cheaper though
Why did you pull throttle and right control together in one pull, yet heated grip wire and left control in separate pulls?
I drop a ball chain like you use to pull light switches on ceiling fans. It rolls right through...
Yep. Piece of cake....especially if you have 1.5" bars
I just finished pulling my wires through my handlebars about a half hour ago...lol
Did you have to install extended brake and clutch cables too?
Not for this install. No cable swaps were required

@@RidingandWrenching thank you. Enjoyed and appreciated your video
Just finished swaping handlebars on my 2023 street glide, everything works lights, horn, ignition but start button is dead. Any suggestions?
Double check all of the electrical wires. Could be a frayed wire or something not connected
I pull all my strings through first, then tie and lube them up, finally pull them through.😇👍
Good point. That's probably easier
@@RidingandWrenching Always more than one way to do things, thank you for your service, God Bless!
cool as but faster to suck string throough with a vacume cleaner from exit hole :) cheers 4 video, good and clear
I've had a few people tell me that. I'll have to try that the next time
I need those bars if you still have them sir

Great job a little easier to pull string through at the same time bro??
Actually it was a little easier. This was the first time I tried to pull both at the same time
I can use those handle bars

Very true. I just did Harley 1.25 Harley 14” for a friend. My lube of choice is ky it evaporates well quickly.
Rubber gloves buddy...lol
😅 Folsom prison bars, gotta use vaseline on em'
life behind bars makes a lot of use of vaseline!
😂😂Vaseline makes it a little easier
