One of my bikes is a 1957 Pan. I have always wanted to clean up the cables on my apes. This is exactly what I am looking for. You have made it so simple with your step by step teaching. I will definitely use this video. Thank you
you kind of followed the design of the original HD internal throttle from the 60s. they used rigid solid "piano wire" that has no spring return. love that dead man throttle on my 71 flh
Did this a few times. Word to the wise- get good bars that are already set up for internal wire. My go-to has always been Carlini. Once... we tried to do a clutch the same. That did not work....
YEP road trip, COLD or RAINY, NO place except the side of the road, BEST to make TWO of those cables at the same time, imagine trying to fool with those small screws on the side of the road, wind blowing, cold, & GOD forbid you left the allen wrenches & other tools for this at home OR you drop the allen wrench or screws into the grass, maybe take additional screws & allen in a medicine bottle in the tool kit@@slgarra3985
Hi,great video, thank you for shearing your knowledge. I also really like the music could you tell the title and artist , the jazzy tune at 8:57-14:15. thx a lot
I ordered one of these against my better judgement. I say that only because they are so expensive for what they are. 400 dollars! Thankfully I got it on sale for 309 but it still seemed so high
Does this throttle application allow 100% range of throttle? Just had mine done and the shop that installed it here in Sweden said that the throttle body is normal to only open about 70% with this setup. Seems pretty fckd up to me. When I asked them about it they said ”Well how often do you really go full throttle? We never” while I was thinking to myself that I go full throttle almost every ride… Need some help and advice on potential tweaks. Setup seems to be kind of the exact same one on mine. Cheers guys

A solid wire, rather than a stranded cable is what was used on the old Harleys 1973 and earlier. A solid wire positively pushes as well as pulls and no return spring was used.
What about the idle cable ? Your just running one cable to the carb and it works like that ? I want to do the same to mine but I was under the assumption you have to run two cables (throttle and idle) .
you can run it with one cable but if your throttle gets stuck you better roll it forward yourself. CV carbs have a pretty good spring back to them. but you do run the risk.
great vid, however it seems like there could be directions on the measurements when trying to feed the wire into the housing cause thats gonna be standard reguardless of the bars or how long the your throttle cable is gonna be
the measurement on the housing is standard but the measurement to your carb is not, its based on handlebars. hence you have to figure measurement from carb to where the throttle mount.
I am also interested in finding someone reputable to do some welding on the heads of my 57 FL . I have cracks inside the heads at the spark plug ports and the valve seats. Any suggestions? Thanks
LOL, NO bike, had one & this looks like a GREAT idea, maybe a liability also, was it designed with a fail safe so it won't hang on full throttle or anywhere that the operator could lose control etc.
So what's the twist range on that internal throttle tube? does it turn as far as a stock Harley twist grip or is it more like a quarter turn throttle tube?
There’s a cable cutting tool used for bicycle cables and housings. The jaws wrap around during the cut. Bend the housing when cutting and the cutters will cut cleanly. Grind off any burrs.
This one is specific to 1" handlebars, there are some companies that make 7/8" but you are going to have to use the google machine to find them. sorry we couldn't be more help.

Me during the video: wow this will fit perfectly on my moto guzzi! Me after checking the price: yes in the end this thing is not all that cool, and the color doesn't match
Would be really nice until the cable needs replaced... and hopefully not while on a road trip! (BECAUSE...THAT IS MY💩💩💩💩 LUCK! )🤣😂🤣😂🙃😉🏍🤘 I was lucky once...my push cable broke while warming up the bike ...thankfully still in my garage! 🤬
I have absolutely no intention of doing this any time soon, but I watched the whole video anyway because it was a good video lol.
I just did the same haha.
I don’t even own a motorcycle yet and I watched the whole thing.
I'm probably never going to do this, but darn it this was fascinating to watch start to finish. Great video!

The background music is on point.🤘
You posted this just as I was about to fit an internal throttle (by Tolle) so it helped a ton! Thanks! 👍
Jeez 😬 I’m glad you’ve still got the tips of your fingers bro 😉
I'm digging these how to vids it helps me
Good video. Thanks for your time and explanation, I learned a lot from the Lowbrow how-to videos. Cheers!!!

400 just for the throttle and cable?
@ lmao no. No cable included. 400 just for the metal throttle housing and internal parts.
Here take my money. I may have to work this into my current project. Nice vid thanks

Hope they didn't do any brake work? 😁
excellent solution and video, thank you very much!
super detailed! thanks fellas!
Thanks for the how to videos. Much appreciated.
So do you say goodbye to bar end mirrors after this install? Would like to see if they can be fitted!
is their one for a dual throttle cable?
I cut the new housing with old cable inside it makes a clean cut
I want to do this but on the left side to be cool and as added theft protection
Is that a Sportster frame with a Weld-on hard tail? I wanna do this to my sportster but am curious how it will look. Thanks! Awesome video! 🔥

notice you didn't use a copper crush sleeve when tightening down the set screw. not necessary?

Thanks. Good video. Could that work for a twist clutch? Is the cable heavy enough?
No but, they do make twist clutch and will work with a different cable.
Any chance of getting a video on that?
@@AdamonfireXMX thinking about doing it to this same bike, not sure yet though..

Nice job, who makes that plastic gas cap/plug
What to do if you run a push and pull ssE.-. Then just go dark side and ditch the push cable?
Keep it sketchy
Good job👍🏻🇺🇸
nice bro.. good work
Kool video cheers 👍🏻
nice work
Nice bike❤😍

pull the clutch if that ever happens
Great vid
Great vid. Perfect detail for the diy. But I gotta ask, where’s the loctite? Lol
What air drill is that I need one
Will this work on a ss shorty? I have dual cables
Single cable application.
Adding this to the list 🔪🏍
Where can we buy that kit? Thanks
parts are in the description my dude! :)
So what's the twist range on that internal throttle tube? does it turn as far as a stock Harley twist grip or is it more like a quarter turn throttle tube?
This one has a short twist to it, more like a quarter turn. different styles vary but this ones pretty neat!
@@lowbrowcustoms Thank you , will keep it in mind when I do more work on my trike.
Is it possible to make something like this work on a 64 triumph? Dual carb
You would have to find a y split cable with adjusters on the bottom for both cables, the throttle itself can only hold one cable.
Было очень интересно и полезно. Спасибо. Мечтаю о таком чоппере. Подписался.
Большое спасибо!
Cool 😎
What about duel cables
these are meant for single throttle cable
This bike was built for Buckhorns, I don't get these "rabbit" type bars, T or drop
best things about choppers and custom bikes, its all changeable with some time and effort and everyone has their own tastes.
WOW! The more you know....
video good ,part not has to many parts to fail.

GREAT INFO, wonder if it is compatible with these cables??
Great video and descriptions but seems such a waste to only be able to hide half the cable..would be nice and hidden on different bars..
It's not about hiding only half of the cable it's about getting rid of the ugly, bulky eye sore throttle mechanism on the bars.
Ok but if i have dual carbs?
Get a splitter, that attaches to end end of your cable and pulls two cables.
Do they make a smaller diameter for motorized bicycles? They'd be all over it! 🤑🤙
This one is specific to 1" handlebars, there are some companies that make 7/8" but you are going to have to use the google machine to find them. sorry we couldn't be more help.

So this is what Howard is doing after the big bang 😂
Is there any way of hiding twin cables on a 4 stroke anyone?
Tyre and rim specs pls....
Stock 16 and 19 Harley rims 2000 Sportster
If only the bars had holes on the risers from the beginning, to accommodate internal cables if the customer wanted to..
yeah be a full custom bar if so, totally doable just have to start from scratch with and you can use a lot of the same steps
Looks pretty delicate
been on my bike 3 years now hasn't had any issues - Mikey
silver sharpie
It’s important to use the proper terminology. Cable housing (not “cable”) and cable (not “wire”)
Seems like you could just buy the vans bmx bicycle grips and just buy one set
MOST BMX grips are not the right length and also 7/8" harley is 1"....

Yea its like 362 for the throttle and another 120 for those t bars
