Enjoy the Ren rabbit hole 😊
You get another little tour of the city in his song "Power". Loved your reaction.
Classic Ren. Back on 74 Retake is awesome!

A few items to note. "Junkie in a cubical", in the UK a cubical is a toilet stall. "Out on the lash" is a night out, usually with heavy drinking. He stops and bows his head with the lyrics "His mother's in a black suit, crying at a funeral". If you look at the pavement where he stops the pavement looks like a grave. He twice uses "As above, so below" in the lyrics. The phrase is not random. It has it's own Wikipedia page which states among other things "Among historians of philosophy and science, the verse is often understood as a reference to the supposed effects of celestial mechanics upon terrestrial events. This would include the effects of the Sun upon the change of seasons, or those of the Moon upon the tides, but also more elaborate astrological effects." It's interesting to note that the first time he uses the phrase as he literally steps into the rising morning sunlight (celestial mechanics) and says "here in the city we glow" (terrestrial event).
Thank you for explaining those localized sayings. Much appreciated! I love this lad, Ren!

That version is dog sht compared to the original VERVE - BITTERSWEET Symphony
Cool. Thanks fir sharing
SI from the Verve gifted Ren with a guitar and thanked him for this cover. Said he loved it. He also supported Ren in getting his #1 album in the UK, Sick Boi. He's been mentoring Ren .
@francesdoll4039 maybe so , but still doesn't deter from the fact that the original version is much better than that version
@@oddbob8905 fact vs opinion. Music hits people differently based on their own experiences and outlook.
@francesdoll4039 completely agree facts vs opinion.
Let's look at them facts -Bitter Sweet Symphony" reached number two on the UK Singles Chart, and stayed on the chart for three months.[2] It was released in the US in March 1998 by Virgin Records America, reaching number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100.[3] It was named Rolling Stone and NME Single of the Year and was nominated for Best British Single at the 1998 Brit Awards. In 1999, it was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Rock Song.[4] "Bitter Sweet Symphony" is considered one of the defining songs of the Britpop era and has been named one of the greatest songs of the decade by several publications. Rolling Stone included "Bitter Sweet Symphony" in two editions of its "500 Greatest Songs of All Time"..
DEFINING SONGS OF BRITPOP ERA AND LISTED AS ONE OF THE 500 GREATEST SONGS OF ALL TIME !!
That's the facts .
Another fact is Rens version isn't consider any of that or reached those accolades .
Now back to the opinion,
My opinion is rens version is dog ka ka compared to the original and seems like the facts back it up 👀👀🙊🙈
