    I remember last year we did a big training exercise with the Brits, dudes are cool as shit and ALWAYS want KBARs and are willing to trade some of their shit for a KBAR. But we did this same thing, it all started out of my own curiosity. I asked them if I could look at their rifles and they were cool with it. So, I'm holding this thing up and I'm just like, "This thing is so fucking awkward..." and their response killed me, "Nah man, it isn't that bad." So I hand them my M4 and say, "Here, try this." They pass it around and they jokingly ask, "Shit man, we were wrong, we like this better. You wanna trade?" I'm going to absolutely honest with you and say, if that M4 was my personally owned weapon, I would of done it in a heart beat. Just to say that I have a legit British rifle. One dude traded me a Gerber for one of his Berets as well. The KBAR got me a Frog Top with patches, a beret, and one of the British Marine Pins that goes in the cover. Shit was cool, to say the least.

    • @bradscott4048
      @bradscott4048 3 роки тому +6

      @Kaydzy I would imagine, you don't see bullpup rifles all that often in the states as it is. They're a dime a dozen. The legit rifles would for sure be hard to find, taking into consideration the 1986 Gun Ban Law. I'm not sure if you're American or not, so I'll just tell you anyhow... The 1986 law made it virtually impossible for any normal civilian to get an automatic or burst firearm, no matter what it is. If the gun was made prior to 1986, there are grandfather loopholes you can take, but can be risky. Otherwise, you can get a class B license and have no worries about it. Nonetheless, the L85 would still be a neat weapon to own, just to say you owned one. Similarly saying like a BAR, Tommy Gun, M60, etc.

      Aqua man Slightly heavier, not much heavier. With all their SUSAT sight and all their various other attachments, and probably it being a bullpup definitely made it seem heavier. Also, we were rocking the M320A1s for what that’s worth.

      Aqua man My M4 was rocking the M68 optic, PEQ-15, and the M320A1. They were rocking whichever variant of their L85s, with the SUSAT sights, a good size laser attachment, tac-light, and a chunky foregrip. Overall, my M4 might be heavier, but definitely didn’t felt like it.

Looooved that rifle (though i was a 50 gunner so i never actually shot it...) then i went to aviation and got an m16 a2 and hated my fucking life. The m4 is great because you can mod it to fit pretty much any mission/person. Though 5.56 is a not great round for fighting unarmored targets because the ballistics are so clean i can pass clean through w.o doing enough damage to kill/severely wound the target (as reported in vietnam when the switch over from m14 to m16 occurred.) M14 AMR is an amazing riffle that puts all others to shame in non urban ops imo.

      Its actually not that hated. Since the H&K upgrades, soldiers actually quite like it, even though its heavy, but that works as an advantage as it soaks up a lot of the recoil, and its small size is very nice for CQB. It takes some getting used to, but once your accustomed to its features, its decent and gets the job done, and is extremely accurate.

      On the flip side of what the US troops thought of the SLR, I heard a story from an old salt in the British army who visited a US base in Germany in the 60s and was handed an M16 on the range to shoot and thought at first it was a training rifle! He thought it was a great idea, scaled down rifle and round for shooting and handling practice. The US soldier then told him "No, that's the actual M16." That's the story anyway.

      M14 was not retarded it was basicallly an M1 Garand chambered for the Nato 7.62 fed from an external box mag. Sure it had wood furniture but if you got in a tussle you could give him a taste of the but plate or the bayonet and he would be quiet. Oh and it would work which the early M16 would tend not to when it really mattered. Of course time has passed and the Mettal toy has improved but dont bad mouth the M14.

    0:24 lmfao, It's actually hilarious to see a US marine handling an SA80 like an ACF cadet (who are 13-18 years old). He did the thing where he desperately tried to find the bolt release, first trying to move the bolt-latch up and down, he then tried fiddling with the literal screws holding the gun together hoping they're buttons, if the clip continues I assume he would look on the other side of the rifle and find the actual bolt catch (a black square block) and tried pushing on it, only to find it wouldn't release the bolt and then giving up and finally learning that he had to push that block downwards with his thumb to release the bolt.
