Hi Mike, I live on the agreed island of Crete, Greece, vinyl is not easy to come by here. I ordered the Nigeria Tone Piet from you, it arrived after a week with DHL, WAS THE BEST PACKAGED ITEM I have ever received and there was no additional charges on delivery. Brilliant quick service, so thank you. John
Today I received my 2 orders, (The Netherlands) in perfect condition. Very well packed. This ordering & shipping process worked out very well. For international orders highly recommended!
I work for USPS... we're gearing up to handle large packages and compete with the other carriers. Also, I've always been happy with in groove usps delivery.
I was hit in the UK with a £76 custom duty charge for a £455 Discogs purchase from the USA by UPS and a £58 custom tax charge for a £280 purchase from Canada by Royal Mail. Both had postage and packaging included but no word of this custom duty charge. I had to pay UPS by cash when he came to my house, but I wasn’t in and if I was I didn’t have that money on me, so the driver said the next day after leaving an invoice, he would of not been able to hand it over. Royal Mail can be paid online after they send you an email. Any item over £135 from North America is subject to customs tax. Not sure if it’s applicable from other countries. This is what Brexit has done to us in the UK.
My copy of "sidewinder" i had to clean quite a few times, kept getting white gunk on the stylus after cleaning! I have it playing pretty great now! Idk how a new record could be so dirty!
Beware of Candid. Although mastered by Bernie Grundman and sound great (I think they were all analog for the most part), the pressing QA was poor and the jackets, although high quality seemed constructed too tight (which may have contributed to some of the warping...not sure). My favorite jazz discovery in recent times was Clark Terry - Color Changes, but it took me a 2nd try and it's still dish-warped but it does not affect the playback and I liked it so much that I kept it. I also tried The World of Cecil Taylor and had to send it back (again pressing issues). In the end I cancelled by Booker Ervin - That's It because I just got tired of dealing with these Candid pressings. It's a shame because I found the ones I checked out very unique jazz recordings. I would love to hear that Candid addressed these issues with their pressing plant and that these NEW releases are vastly improved. I'm always willing to give a company another chance if they are proactive in addressing issues. If anyone has some related feedback, I would love to read it.
Its great that so many good pressings of Jazz albums are available now BUT!!!!!! You have to be a multi millionaire if you want to own them. It would be nice if they were always available so we could acquire them at our own pace. It feels like there's a race to get them before they're gone, which im sure that whoever profits from this the most loves. In regards to shipping costs why is it that i can get a standard album shipped to me in Australia for $32 dollars (including shipping) from some sellers yet others the shipping alone is $32?
I’m pretty excited about the Doors release and the price seems reasonable. Just hope the quality of the recording is above par at least. Thanks Mike (and Angel behind the scenes).
Some week for Jazz Mike.I'm in for Ike Quebec,Don Ellis and Chet Baker Sings which are all arriving tomorrow. It'll need to be cheap beer for the weekend listening session though...
The golf clap 😁 never heard it put that way but that really sums it up! Cool to hear you're a Manson fan.reserving my right to love the music I want to and not make a judgment until I have all the facts.and even then, he's freaking Marilyn Manson..what the hell did they expect? Donny Osmond..
It appears FOMO has died down and Pressing plants are catching up. Plus reissues are coming out almost as good as first presses and sometimes even better, using original tapes on better quality vinyl and cut more suitable to the better Turntables. While I can’t see new albums prices coming down, i can see used ones get backing to realistic prices. A real golden period coming up for us.
As far as early prestige and blue note, I don't hear an improvement over originals. I hear a "fancier" presentation, for better or worse. Glad people are enjoying (including me. I buy them too!) but as a musician that bases a lot of feel and sound, hard to beat the familiar feeling of an original with what may be considered a technically superior specimen.
It feels like a golden period because theres alot.of.talk about records now. Many youtubers. Lots of activity on Dcogs. Etc etc. Reality has been pressings were far better 10yrs ago than they are today. Demand means quality suffers. Add a pandemic to the mix and its a total crap shoot at times.
Phoenix is burning up - I can't imagine a better way to escape the heat than spending the day at In Groove. I would look through every record. Twice or even three times.
Hi Mike, Do you plan to carry the new ANOHNI and the Johnsons (FKA Antony and the Johnsons) record "My Back Was a Bridge for You to Cross". Can you please consider stocking this ? It is a fantastic record and getting great reviews. I would also mention that ANONHI was good friends with Lou Reed, who championed ANONHI early in her career, and there is a song on this record dedicated to him, "Sliver of Ice." Lou also guested on one of her earlier tecords called, "I Am a Bird Now" from 2005, but the LP is out of print.
Hi Mike , I am in Australia and I am new to your website , whenever I go to pre orders there is nothing there and the message says clear filters but even if I do clear the filter nothing appears. I received your e -mail today regarding new pre orders and can’t find them on your website, please can you help. Brian
Mike I'm a customer and Teamster member of UPS. UPS made over $13BILLION in operating profit last yr alone and $100BILLION in revenue. Since 2018 operating profit is around $60 BILLION so now that its time to renegotiate the contract UPS wants to cry poverty.. The govt has NO oversight over our contract. Rail system falls under govt rules. UPS asked Teamsters to return to bargaining table nxt Tue. If no deal is reached by July 31st the Teamsters will withdraw their labor from UPS. The UPS pilots will also not cross the picket line so no air will be done unless it's by limited mgmt who have license to fly. Keep in mind the United States postal service puts air on those planes. UPS is trying to train mgmt and other non union employees to do the work of 340k Teamsters so how do you see that working out??
I don't think it will go well. On a side note the teamsters asked the government no to get involved so I can only assume that it's a possibility in some form.
Usps needs to have insurance added. I have had a package arrive empty and usps wouldnt do anything about it since there was no insurance. $150 down the drain. Pleases consider adding insurance to usps packages, if that is the route you end up choosing.
Hi Mike, don't worry about seeing The Barbie movie. It was written by two amazing writer/directors of independent films, Greta Gerwig and her husband, Noah Baumbach and directed by Gerwig. I expect it will be somewhat subversive and probably a pretty good time.
@austinhunt4260 Thanks. I was hoping Mike had more info on the pressing, but I guess not. Now we just could get some reissues of Antichrist and Holy Wood.
PLEASE GOD.....don't go to FedEx. I don't know about your part of the country, but FedEx is the worst here on the east coast. Rarely have issues with USPS. (Believe it or not) "Hootie"??? I still have nightmares of those songs. 🤮

@@ianhamilton2476 spot on sir, very hot right now, chilling at night with some jazz from the In-Groove
Just ordered some titles on the website. Must say international ordering was never so easy. I can't wait to receive my order in The Netherlands!
Same to Canada- amazingly fast.

The first couple were the worst. They have got better.
This is the video ive been watching for. Mechanical Anomals pre ordered. Thanks so much for posting this. Cheers
You’re welcome, I called them about it, and they posted it soon after😎🤘
@@leonsam12 well then thanks to you as well!!! Awesome. Thought they would never release any of this music again
I was planning on it but waited a few weeks to see if there would be a US release for less $
@@TheInGroove awesome. Appreciate it
I know it’s an import, but does that mean bootleg? A lot of those European pressings are bootlegs.
i love that ronstadt album - i have my original. highly recommend!
I missed the Rondstadt album
which one is it and what’s the time stamp on the video

Oh man there are soooo many wants in here this week ha. Damnit!😂
Muddy waters great album to listen to 👍🏼
"Canciones de mi Padre" was released in late 1987. I remember when the album was released. A must to own!

Delivery to Canada requires paying DHL an extra 20% of your order before they will deliver it. You make it sound like there are no back end charges.
Did you order from me and have to pay 20%? The folks I've been in contact with have said no.

The USPS is always better than both UPS and FedEx, IMHO. Hope you’re staying cool during the heatwave apocalypse!
