Are we closing the chapter on mid-Fi category of the past when it comes to technical performance?
With the release of the Sega P2 pro and the resolving drivers it offers, it might be time.
Equipment tested:
Cayin HA2A, Cayin IDAC, topping a90, HoloAudio cyan 2, Ferrum Oor, Wandla, Questyle M15, CMA18P.
Nice one, Khoi! Clear, concise and informative. I would definitely take a look at these if I were in the market for something at this price point.
I own the sv007 and the sv21 Robin. The Robin is super comfortable and sounds great. All for below 100 dollars on eBay (new) . Great company, I will be buying these due to prior purchases..
Definitely worth checkin out. Thanks for a great review!
@@murmerjangle3016 my pleasure, and definitely agree
Funny how with iems, the established brands lost to the Chinese upstarts, but remained the relevant option for headphones. I remember this era of no-name headohones coming out each week.
Wonderful. Thank you for this review.
This headphone driver reminds me of the Sendy Aiva, Blon B20 and Monoprice M570 drivers. They all had the same repackaged drivers with different grill covers and foam filters. All of them have the same exact wood covers for the driver housing. Each wood housing has different darkness of wood varnish. Love them all.
@@GARYCOLEIV not for this one I think the driver was worked up from the ground upwards using Sapphire glass and some crazy shit
You know this is so nice to hear. Some of these 5 to 700$ headphones can be a beautiful surprise and make HIFI listening easy and fun. I had a similar experience with the FIIO FT5. Wow. That headphone specializes in the warm relaxed sound. And? Yes. The build quality and accessories are insanely good. ❤
What are your thoughts about Fiio FT5 ? All reviews except one tell it's a failure. I'm interested in it but what to think of it...
I really enjoy the FT5. Love how it has scalability and to me the FT5 sounds it’s absolute best on a quality tube amplifier. It is a headphone that has warmth and height in the soundstage. I do not EQ this headphone, however the FT5 is a little more demanding in the source department than one might think for a $500.00 headphone.
Worth exploring. The price of the headphone is absolutely worth it. Build quality and pad rolling system is terrific as well. I’m
@@Nephilim-81 I already own the FT1 and I love it. But many reviewers say the FT5 sounds veiled and the bass bleeds into the mids. I love nice bass but also detailed mids, and that scares me.
Hmm some controversial views one feels! Will look at Tring these out, but on a far more modest stack!
Maybe the price is "mid-fi", but I've always looked at hi-fi as a tier that tells us how well the hardware represents the original music. And hearing the review it seems this is firmly in the hi-fi category.
@@StCreed drivers are freaking awesome
You have courage doing a review before DMS takes a dump on it.🤟
I guess it depends what you define as Mid-fi. From what I gather, Midfi ends around the $1500 price point does it not? The benchmark I remember someone mentioning was the Focal Clear OG when it came out, with the Stellia and Utopia representing HIFi, etc. Maybe I am totally off here...
@@chungang7037 mid fi we usually cap off around $900 mate
@@ConvinceMeAudio and for Low-fi?
Great review as always! I had sivga P2 and didn't like the comfort. Pads were a bit too small and to stiff. How do they compare to Moondrop Venus on high end gear?
@@dreamstormPL stiff pads have a tendency to break and it takes awhile, but I didn’t find that issue personally
I love the Venus. I think it’s an awesome headphone, but very bass light and also extremely difficult to drive properly, I think the drivers in this is better technically but I think the Venus is tuned slightly more pleasantly.
Since you bring up the Ayra V2. How does this compare in terms of sound?
@@ExtremeMakerX more detailed and a cleaner driver
I think I would give everything else to Arya
Given the mid fi price, what do you recommend in terms of portable DAC amp solution that is price appropriate?
@@Prxyshj questyle m15, cma18p mojo2 a&k hf4
How does it compare to ananda nano?
@@mrgreenram2477 that unit even in its first iteration has never come in for a review, so I’m not too sure
@@ConvinceMeAudio hey bro one more question, Will you do a Review of the Shangri-la mini?
@@mrgreenram2477 yes alongside L 700
How do they sound compared to othe planer headphones like hifimans?
Gorgeous-looking pair of planar headphones that I will almost definitely not be adding to my burgeoning collection. ❤
