Appreciate the honest review. I’m off to listen to this tomorrow along with the Meze 105, Hifiman edition XS and i think i’ll add the Sivga Luan to the list.
Thank you again! This was yet another headphone I was considering as my first planar. The looks of the Ananda Nano and the potential for me not liking the highs put me off of them so I was looking at this one. Still though, every review I watched never seemed to be that excited about this set and I could never put my finger on why. This review really put the other reviews into perspective and showed me potential cons no one else even cared to mention/notice. I'll be dropping this completely off my consideration list now. Thank you for saving me the time and money. Hopefully, they can come out with a P2.1 pro but until then going to keep up my hunt for my first planar.
@@Hijynx87 the bass is limiting on hi-fi man headphones in my experience, and the Sundara would be worse than Edition XS. The Edition XS doesn’t need a great seal and you can get a headphone pad for underneath or a capraaudio strap.
@GadgetryTech not related to the video and wanted your opinion on something. Turtle Beach 700 v3, do you think this will sound simular to the recon 500 that you covered a few years go? Looks like the exact same drivers.
I loved this headphone, one of the best mids that I ever heard! No harshs on highs. Good lows (with simple EQ). I can listen for hours without any fatigue. For me it´s a very good option when a want some relaxed sessions to enjoy the music. It´s a "warmer planar" for fun, very different from Hifiman Edition XS for example. Like I said, it´s a headphone for fun to enjoy the music.
I would love to see you review the Sivga Anser open-back dynamic. I think they're newer than the Luan headphones you reviewed a while back. I have both, and like both for different reasons. I think they're pretty interesting at $200 ($100 cheaper than the Luan). I think they trade blows with the Luan, and to my ears have somewhat more intimate vocals. I think they are much more neutral than Sivga's other affordable headphones.
Another great review looks like that headphone is a mess but we do have one big winner that's you thankyou for the review. i just ordered the focal hadenys suppose to be in tomorrow . i was waiting for your review on those but i pulled the trigger on them anyway hope they sound good for gaming and movies. im sending the filo ft1 back its closed back sounds too muddy or congested . Fiio ft3 ive had them for 2 days now. Still testing them out there 350ohms using the filo k11 Rzr dac amp filo ft3 sound very clear but it seems to lacks bass but still testing. im either keep ing the filo ft3 or the focal hadenys.
Is there a magnetic planar over ear that produces a similar sound like the magnetic planar iems Tinhifi P1 Max? (Maybe a little less edgy treble if possible). I'm thinking the same detail lvls & tuning otherwise, with perhaps a lower end & wider soundstage that improves ambient effects from a distance (i.e., roomier)?
6:26 THAT'S why my SendyAudio AIVA sounds so weird! I haven't listened to it in about 5 years, since way better planars have come along, but it's always bugged me, just never put two and two together. It also looks almost identical to the P2 Pro (and other Sivga products), which I guess makes sense since SendyAudio seems to be a sub brand of Sivga.
Jeez it looks like the same headphone! Remove that grill and handle with care! Only remove the 4 screws when you remove the pad (if it's the same). Then you can carefully lift the driver assembly out (start at the top). Don't unscrew all of the other black phillips screws! Once you tilt the drive up and out, it's an extremely short wire, so only do one at a time and be very careful not to pull the wire off. The back screws that hold the grill assembly in (on mine at least), is a T6 torx bit. Once done, try out my EQ and let me know what you think! Again - I have no idea how similar the rest of the headphone is.
Sivga, blon and sendy all did a version of that headphone. It was most likely a white label headphone. Meaning some factory made the headphone and brands could just get their name on it. I don't think the brands are related. But could be. The Shenzhen technology company owns so many things so it could be them
Tbh I think it's most likely a combination of the housing not matching with the driver and possible issues with the selected driver in regards to neutrality as a whole. As I've learned from experience not having good housing and driver synergy can seriously bork the drivers frequency response. But given the lack of neutrality in the lower bass and mids I think it may also be possible design issues with the driver in regards to its neutrality. This is just a guess though, while I'm sure the metal covering isn't helping , it wouldn't be the only cause. You could probably correct some of the FR issues with sizable dampening and housing modification, but you would kind of be working from a compromised position with this headphone and may effect dynamics negatively if overdampened, might not be worth the effort unless you own it and are up for the challenge, though modding can be alot of fun, so might be an interesting project for some.
Any plans on trying the Zeus Elite? Probably my favorite in the price range below 500$ and would be nice to see how it compares and if things like the AR5000 do the warm sound better
I did submit my findings ahead of time to Sivga. If I removed the outer grill, the reflection sound went away. That part wouldn't be a defect but a design outcome
I was told it was being shipped to me. At this point it's likely that review will come out mid-October unless a miracle happens. All depends on timing but I have to travel for both work (day job) and to California for CanJam SoCal headphone show!
I needed 250hrs of break-in time. I love mine. The midrange has a lot of dynamics being mid-forward. I bought mine for $404 at HiFiGo. Fantastic headphone. Not sure what you're talking about with reflection issues. It reminds me of an HD650 with zero weaknesses. Sorry you didn't think much of this headphone. Do you like the Sigva P2 Pro over the Caspian?

edition xs is great, but you csan't go wrong with sundara if the eggs dont fit.
@@Hijynx87 True! I might be going that route. Thanks for the recommendation

Nice looking set headphones 🎧 and thank you for your great work 👍🏽👍🏽
As someone who tunes my own headphones the frequency response on these makes me want to cry . These look like a freakin mess.
I would love to see a review of the ibasso sr3, looks like an interesting headphone.

With that graph I don't know if anyone can save it either with modding or EQ.
The EQ I posted helps quite a bit, but it's not perfect

Dear sir which one planar headphone is best in 800 dollar budget ??
needing to mod a $500 headphone oof

Spedaking of headphone mods, any good ones for the fiio jt1?
Fiio FT5 review plz
Please review SJY Horizon and Verum 2.
Could you have got a faulty unit as other reviewers of the P2 pro never mentioned the reflection issue nor modded it

What wired open back gaming headphone or headset do you recommend under 300 dollars ? For both story and fps games
Hifiman Edition XS is 269 right now and it is highly praised

What about just cut out the mesh, and just use the surround under the grill

You’re not alone. I Love the sound as well. It’s anything but neutral but in the end, it’s about what you like.
Break in as in comfort or burn in? The latter isn't real :)
Whether you see a butt case or a nipple case reveals a lot about a person.
I thought you would have Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 3 in by now 🫣
