I've been in the pool since 30th December 2019. They have sent the first round of invitations out today (24/02/20) so I think it's time I apply for the police certificate! So much info, but really well explained! I do have a few questions: do you know if you need to purchase a Canadian insurance or could I enter with my Dutch insurance? I am covered all around the world with my insurance, but I’m not sure if that differs from your UK one... I understand if you don’t know the answer to this questions haha. Also, did you find a job/accommodation before hand? Is it hard or was it easy for you? If I go, I’d like to start my working-holiday by working in one of the big cities and figured it would be good to have found a job and accommodation before I arrive. Thanks!

Hi, I'm not sure if you can answer this but I have had my invitation to apply and I have all my documents ready to go and uploaded bar the CV/Resume. This is the one thing which is causing me the most stress as I have seen in different forums that if you leave a gap they will ask you for a travel form which will be even more stressful and tedious. Do you have any advice for how to format your CV for the IEC visa application to avoid any issues? P.S thanks to your video I was able to get my police certificates done in advance to minimise stress. :)

Glad you enjoyed the video. You can join the pool when ever. There really isn't a 'best' time. As soon as your in the pool its done like a raffle so you can get chosen at any time xxx

I’m currently applying for my working holiday visa, I’m at the biometrics stage, just waiting to book an appointment. I was wondering do they have to keep your passport or do they give it back to you on the same day you’re getting your biometrics done.

Hey, one question: If your IEC is granted, you have one year to enter Canada. Does that mean I have one year to enter Canada and then still get to spend one year there? Or does that mean I have one year to enter and let's say I enter Canada after three months of granting, I have 9 months in Canada left, so the longer I wait to enter Canada, the less time I get to spend there? Its ok I had loads of questions when I applied but never found the answers that is why I made these videos! :) So once your name is called out the pool you have to apply for the visa straight away which is scary when I didn't get mine till a month later! But once you get your visa you have 1 year to enter Canada to activate it. So Even though we got our visas at different times we activated them on the same date :) hope this makes sense?xxx

I got a letter stating Your application to work in Canada has been initially approved by Immigration, Refugees and citizenship Canada. The final decision to issue you a work permit and allow you to enter Canada . Is this a port of entry letter ?

Help anyone - Applying for the ACRO asap as we have come up on the pool for Canada. So we are taking a photograph to send in online. Does this need to be endorsed on the back? Or does the person endorsing only fill in the section on the application?

As soon as you are granted your visa you have 1 year to enter Canada :) Get in the pool sooner rather then later because sometimes it can takes months and months! :) xx

Hi Louise, I’m have been accepted to IEC pool, I input existing passport details but it will expire in May 2023... ie won’t be valid from 2 years from date I go.. Do I apply to renew my passport now ? and it will be fine, or do I need to start over again ? Any help greatly appreciated

depends on age! if your under 30 you will get in as IEC everyone gets accepted at some point its just a waiting game. over 30 it is down to what job you have etc

Hi, I've put myself in the pool yesterday. On the website it says the chances of getting a visa in the next rounds are very low. Do you think I still might be able to get an invitation to apply within the next two months or so? (So that I can go to Canada in January 2022)..
with the pandemic I really don't know. for me it was so different we got our visa within 4 months but that was before covid. I know some people have waited over 2 years for there IEC

I was selected from the pool after a week, you’re right it really is different for everyone! Has its downsides though I didn’t have enough time to get the police certificate on time but I was able to submit evidence that I had paid for it 💕 Update: Started IEC process in April 2023 and was fully approved after 6 weeks in June 2023. Hope this gives other people hope that it isn’t always a lengthy process 🫶🏾

I believe its valid for 6 months if your still living in the country if it was a country you have lived before but now moved then its valid for longer

I'm from the UK but live in Spain. The police check for the UK has gone up to 55 pounds and the Spanish one is 3.68€ 😂

You can still apply with proof of purchase (receipt or confirmation email) of your police certificate and just send it in afterwards

some people it takes 1-2 years and others it takes 3 months everyone is sooooo different
Can you apply for the iec 2 year visa with a passport that is only valid for 1 year but renew it before you fly over?
nope. they will only give you a 1 year visa
What if I don’t plan on wanting to go for 2 more years? Should I still see if I’m eligible now or wait?

yes you can :) just make sure you carry your visa with you :)
It’s crazy how much of the prices have gone up in just 4yrs😢 I’m applying an i paid £65 for my criminal record and it took over 20 days to arrive
You also have to get a medical check from a panel physician which costs around £350 😖

I have heard about this... you may need to call them or book it ... there also do walk-ins too but you may have to wait a few hours to be seen

One thing I realised watching this video i was never asked to show any health insurance
me too!! we still had it though as it is one of the requirements
I’m stuck at the security questions already 🤯 it won’t accept or acknowledge
It sounds like the website is playing up a few people has said there struggling
I was selected from the pool after a week, you’re right it really is different for everyone! Has its downsides though I didn’t have enough time to get the police certificate on time but I was able to submit evidence that I had paid for it 💕
Update: Started IEC process in April 2023 and was fully approved after 6 weeks in June 2023. Hope this gives other people hope that it isn’t always a lengthy process 🫶🏾
what evidence did you use to say that you paid for it?
