Kitsilano/Point Grey! I live there since 2008. Moving to Vancouver is a lot of decision making. I used to live in Calgary and I started my life there as an immigrant. Calgary has given me so many opportunities. There's so many challenges along the way but those experiences would make me a stronger and better person. I was already established myself in 2008 in Calgary. I recently purchased a brand new condo. in downtown Calgary then all my close friends decided to move from Calgary to other places. That's how I made a decision to move to Vancouver. I traded my 2 bedroom condo. from Calgary to a studio in Kitsilano, Vancouver. That's how the transition and a life trade that I have to do. No regrets.
Victoria is newLy wed and nearly dead city. I agree better than Vancouver. However to much government in Victoria (Provincial Government, all government jobs, and contractors, the Federal Navy base in Esquimalt, and Royal Rhodes college, along with UVic. Not much for industry since fishing, logging pretty much ended. Basically service jobs for government. Therefore expect little innovation, high tax, and never ending union inefficiency. Oak bay, Fairfield and North Saanich are nice (lived in all those locations). Still the many, meth heads and drug addicts isn’t resolved (this goes al way from Vancouver down to San Diego same issues). Overall Victoria nice temp from March-October.
Good video! Being born and raised in “east” Vancouver I would have probably elaborated on a few more areas instead of just generalizing. Commercial, main, Champlain heights, Oakridge, Kingsway, Joyce, south Vancouver etc. All in or around east Vancouver but have their own pros and cons and differ from each other greatly. Especially when you compare avg rent from let’s say commercial to Champlain you’re likely looking at. 2-300$ difference! Anyways after 24 years living in east van I made the move up to Surrey and have never been happier! Also a very viable option if you work down town especially in the new city centre area localized around the skytrain, sfu, kpu, surrey memorial and city hall. My door to Rogers arena is 39 minutes flat.
@@AdamJBell Yeah! Great for myself. I drive but it's nice to take the skytrain to metrotown etc and not have to deal with parking/traffic . My parents also live right by nanaimo station so sometimes I skytrain when i go to there place. It's nice to pop on some headphones and 22 minutes later be there for just $2.40. Hello, just wanted to say that your channel has been extremely extremely helpful! So thank you so much~ I'm from Mexico and I'm planning to move to Vancouver w/ my mother early next year, and hopefully work on the VG industry
The most important question really is. Little India ? Or hongcoover ? A few mixed caucasian areas but not many. Either you like being surrounded by east Indians or you like Asian neighborhood. Simple as that.
Right off the top, I do enjoy your videos for their high production value, content and in particular, your self- deprecating humour. Now the critique. Having lived in the City of Vancouver (West End, then the West Side around VGH) from 1983 to 2017 thought I should correct a few things you've mentioned. Since you're including the "City of Burnaby" as part of Vancouver (which it is not) why not include "City of New Westminster", "City of Port Moody", "City of North Vancouver", City of West Vancouver", "City of Surrey", "City of Richmond"? All these other cities each have their own Mayor and City Council, police departments and their own bylaws. They are part of what is referred officially as "Metro Vancouver", a partnership of 21 municipalities, one Electoral Area and one Treaty First Nation that collaboratively plans for and delivers regional-scale services. Other than being Canada's third largest city, with the mildest climate of the three being located in a temperate rainforest which includes the 1000 acre Stanley Park next door to the West End, what's not to like...if you can afford it. Two things in particular got us noticed on the world stage and helped drive up those housing prices: Expo 86 and the 2010 Winter Olympics. As of January 2020, the average price of a home in the "City of Vancouver" remains over $1 million at $1,298,332, after a 2.4 per cent drop year over year. A two-storey homes average price in the city now stands at $2,135,367, while condos are sitting at $764,009 on average.
I live in Kitsilano. The beaches and parks here are amazing. Also, so many different ethnic restaurants to choose from. What you didn't mention in the video is square footage for those prices...for the same price your place in Burnaby will seem like a mansion compared to those shoeboxes in Yaletown.
@@mirjanacorilic7476 really depends. A basement suite would be cheaper than a main floor. Busy street would be cheaper and north of 4th would be more expensive. Also, in my neighbourhood there are many outdated homes that date from 1912, while others have been fully renovated or new. $1500 would be a crazy cheap old basement suite (unfurnished). A deluxe 2 bedroom furnished suite would be around $3800. Most people in Vancouver search Craigslist Vancouver and key search Kitsilano. Hope that helps.

Hello, just wanted to say that your channel has been extremely extremely helpful! So thank you so much~
I'm from Mexico and I'm planning to move to Vancouver w/ my mother early next year, and hopefully work on the VG industry
Love your channel Adam! Thanks for this video, sooo appreciated!
Thanks for the support Amanda, glad I can help ! :D
Helpful video, I am thinking about moving in Canada , Vancouver and had zero idea about the different area , thanks a lot
I really like watching your videos ❤️ I live in Kerrisdale area btw 😄
Thanks Karan, I'll keep making them then 😂🙌
The most important question really is. Little India ? Or hongcoover ? A few mixed caucasian areas but not many. Either you like being surrounded by east Indians or you like Asian neighborhood. Simple as that.
Such a nice video Adam, my suggestion for a next video could be North Vancouver. I have some plan to go there next year.
Thanks for the support Felipe, I will most likely do another episode where I cover North Van 👍👍
@@AdamJBell Nice 😊
Very helpful Adam! Thank you so much :)
Best review ever 👍
Nice video, thank you so much 🙌
Great video! My neighbourhood wasn't mentioned, but it's very similar to Kerrisdale. I went to kits, mount pleasant and kerrisdale today!
I’ve been looking into Vancouver a bunch and this was super helpful. I appreciate it! Subbed and looking forward to more
I live in Kitsilano. The beaches and parks here are amazing. Also, so many different ethnic restaurants to choose from. What you didn't mention in the video is square footage for those prices...for the same price your place in Burnaby will seem like a mansion compared to those shoeboxes in Yaletown.
How much is a two-bedroom apartment in your neighbourhood? For s family of four. Furnished or unfurnished.
@@resetee4313 Yes, thank you so much :)
@@xo7454 I used to work there. They are both very doable.
@@xo7454 I walk alone in the dark but I also have a larger German Shepherd. Other than auto and bike theft which is all other the City I feel this is a low crime area.
Two things Adam, First of all, I love the vibe of Gastown, so i see why you like to spend time there and Second, I love those rim horned glasses you have on in the video. Great Choice!!! Thank you for another amazing and knowledgeable video. I look forward to your next one!!
Awesome 👌I live Langley, very informative...any info on Port Moody area?
Seen some of your videos. Want more videos on places of west End and
North Vancouver. Need info of 2 and 3 bedroom condo with price of suburb
area of Vancouver.
