Stick more iron in em,plastics more buoyant and thicker frames hold more tide, had some inkwells made out of blue water pipe, they’d float till the air got pushed out of em as they sunk, remember having a chat with lads in the pub bout rarely getting lobsters in the first pot and the last, always the middle pots, didn’t seem to make a difference with crabs,a old boy in the corner was earwigging and said yer Dhan lines are thrumming in the tide he reckoned that lobsters didn’t like the vibration, suggested that I stuck a fathom of chain on the bottom of the darn lines, must confess I was dubious so bought him a pint ,eventually curiousity got the better of me and tried it,bugger me it worked,by luck or what I don’t know.
There is 15kg steel and cement in them now, I thought that would have been enough. They might just be used for shallow sheltered areas now. We seem to get more lobsters on the end pots than the middle for some reason???
Would have thought 15kg would be plenty, thing is heavier pots means more pressure on ya back to lug em about,if fishing was easy everybody would be doing it,lol, that codling was a rarity,if ya south of Aberdeen or north of Devon ya have to look in a book to see what one looks like these days.
Yes, they are thin on the ground now. I never thought I would see the day when they went. Getting 50-100st on the lines was the norm here. The pots are some of the heaviest I have. Must be the tide on the frames!
I want too. The water has been brown with mayweed for the longest Ive ever known, but has finally started to clear in the last two weeks. I did want to go this afternoon, but the wind has swung out north east, so cant launch on my own.
You made me laugh trying to pick up that rockling, I'm sorry you keep getting messed up with those wind farm boats, can't you complain to them or do they play dumb. Keep trying mate, I know you won't give up! take care, Norfolk Ray

so there is some life under the sea Beany lol albeit small 👍👍👍👍
Yes theres bits and pieces there!
Is that a little petrol generator you run to power the pot hauler?
Its a petrol powerpack. The petrol engine turns an hydraulic pump, which pumps the oil for the hydraulic motor in the pot hauler
@@beanysfishing2555 Thanks.
@@anotherangleUK no probs mate
Aren’t you doing any mackerel fishing this year?

@@beanysfishing2555 It would be nice if the sea would play. I have missed the mackerel trips they are good videos.
Yes, it’s a favourite fishing type using the jigging machines

Hahaha my dad did the same thing a few minutes later with another one! They don’t give a crap, waste of time even trying to contact them
Thanks for the video. It would be nice to see the pots and not the top of your head.
He's showing you what it means to be a working fisherman not a critic!!
It’s hard to fit everything in. If I had several cameras, the time editing would be horrendous
