I like this. Usually I only see this when the bore is out of round, and this is cheaper than buying new units. I like that you precisely offset the bushing to make performance parts out of cheap stockers.
Great information to be had there! Also love seeing people reuse old stuff instead of throwing them out! An interesting topic would be how to optimize the rocker assembly -as shown at the end there. Unless that's a trade secret?????
Thanks Luis, most people leave power on the table and don’t maximise the valve trains potential. Mostly due to costs. It takes time to work out the optimum geometry for a given application, and usually means a set of custom pushrods needs to be factored in to the costs of the final optimised setup.
My son recommended your rockers so I bought a set for my 1330cc Minor and with a SW5 camshaft, MG Metro head skimmed approx. 1mm. It has made a really torquey and powerful engine for fast road use. Thanks for developing something that actually works not the crap some specialists pedal
AC, do you have a website with your parts and services? I dont have facebook, that's one of your other outlets it seems. Would love to know what you offer. Cheers.
Love machining videos...so relaxing😊
Excellent work! I love that the norm is/was to scrap them and you’re turning them into a premium product with some good engineering
Thankyou!
Nice one AC, Sweet little fixture in the lathe 👍👍
Thanks Paul

Nice work, thanks!
Keep up the good work AC.
Will do Phil!

Thanks for the feedback Mike I am glad they have worked for you!
Very interesting video, thanks !
Could you get in more details about correcting the geometry ?
Rocker geometry could be a future video subject
Interesting how many basic parts on the A Series where so badly machined.
People forget, these engines were made to the lowest cost possible. Therefore tolerances are the widest allowable.

Hi there no website I am too busy to have even more coverage!! Send email to ACDodd.aseries@gmail.com
I've got the standard pre A+ type (A series) and I'm looking at upgrading. What would be my best option?
If the bushes are not worn out these rockers can be re worked to give the full 1.3:1 ratio if they are the oval pad type
