What if you are setting up the new iPhone as new and not from backup but still want to transfer Apple Watch from old to new phone? Is there a way to do that?
I dont understand any of these instructions. My watch has been synced to my OLD phone I've been to scared to sync it to my new phone because I don't want to lose my watch data. So my phone has already been restored from a back up even tho I still have my watched paired to my old phone (I still use it for work) I would like to move my watch to my new phone but now Im sure how to do that because how will I know if all my backup data for my watch will be there. This is so confusing.
I didn’t have to do any of this when upgrading my Apple Watch Ultra from my iPhone 12 Pro Max to my iPhone 15 Pro. After my now phone updated from backup, I was prompted on the phone asking if I wanted to transfer the watch to the new phone and it did everything for me. For some reason, it won’t do the same for my wife’s watch, which is why I’m here. There is apparently a new feature built in, but I can’t reproduce it on my wife’s equipment.
Unhelpful. this just reset my watch, and now i have to go through the process of setting it back up again. There were no backups available. There should have been a step to mention that a backup is needed.
Very helpful. Not sure why Apple does not make this more straightforward when switching to a new iPhone.

yep it asked from me too but I guess it didnt work. so I got to reset the watch then

This is an quite awful experience. everything went smooth but this is just unnecessary complicated.
