Hey Dion! My phone is stuck on the preparing to transfer screen? Been hanging for almost an hour. Can you possibly help here? Im so lost, new iphone 15 pro max is updated to newest software and im still having this issue with using the direct phone to phone transfer option.
@@benedikalala6551 I’ll be real with you. When I first got the 14 I hated it and I wanted my xr back. First reason was that I had to go to my carrier and get an e-sim bc I bought it unlocked at the Apple Store and he told me that if I mess it up, I have to bring it back to the store. Second reason was because I had to reset the phone twice because I had forgotten to back up my XR first. But once I learned how to use the phone, I LOVED IT!! hope this helps

I never got the option to Transfer from iPhone at 3:59 Apple support couldn't answer why. I heard online that the new phone's ios must be updated, so I set it up temporarily, just to be able to update it. Then I reset the phone and started the setup again. Still didn't get the option to Transfer from iPhone.

And dont bother restarting it, it STILL wont work. In the end I had to manually install all the apps. But the photos and contacts werent a problem since I just airdropped them to my new iPhone. Im sorry I couldnt help 😞
I got my first iPhone a few years ago & just bought a replacement since the battery on the first one has downgraded & the charging port also needs servicing (or I’ll just sell it). Prior to this I’ve always had android phones & the process of transferring to a new phone was anxiety-inducing because something would ALWAYS go wrong- I would lose pictures, contacts, or data in the process, OR I’d end up talking to a customer service rep trying to get the new phone to recognize the new SIM card. Never fun. So I’ve been a little nervous about transferring everything over to my new iPhone but the process seems easy & straightforward enough. I’m definitely not going back to android as I’ve really gotten to enjoy iPhone, Apple iOS, & everything it has to offer. Thanks for the video!

I think before anything, you should warn users that the new phone iOS should be up to date and the sims need to in inserted too (if keeping your number that sim needs to go into the new phone)....I didnt have either of these when I started the transfer which made it somewhat difficult.
Will this transfer songs that I have on my phone that isn't purchased from itunes or added from Apple Music? Or would I have to sync my phone to finder on my mac?

The transfer took place without incident, thanks to your video instructions. I did notice, however, that there were 8 new apps that were not there before. A little soft-sell by Apple. 😊

HI, very good question. if your old phone has less than 64 GB on your old phone then there is no problem, if it is more you will have to reduce on your old phone

Question I am hoping someone can answer: I started a transfer of an iphone 6s to a used iphone x yesterday and it stalled out when the x asked for an ios update. Hello thank you for this great video, I have a question on my old phone my iCloud storage is full so many pics I have are not saved by iCloud so if I transfer and do these steps to my new phone will my pictures be transferred as well even if I have a full storage? Also, you said it transfers all messages, does this include Whatsapp data (messages, photos, videos etc.) or do you need a separate backup within Whatsapp for that? I have no backup in iCloud or Whatsapp because it's only 32 GB so I'm a little bit afraid that I might lose all the data when transferring Whatsapp.
Hi Alpher, sorry for the late reply. This should also work for the older models. If you have not enough space in your iCloud Apple will temporarily give you additional space, so all your data should be transferred.

Hi Jennifer, This should also work for the older models. If you have not enough space in your iCloud Apple will temporarily give you additional space, so all your data should be transferred.
Does setting it up this way rather than iCloud backup mean u don’t need to enter passwords again for apps and email etc etc. also will my watch need to be added to new phone or does that transfer too? Just got my yellow 14 today. My old phone is a 12.
Hi Maria, it does not really matter. I did it before, but either way works. There are many factors that determine the length of the transfer, from 30 minutes up to some hours

Hi Bill, excellent question. I have no experience with this (live in UK). I would suggest to first carry over all the data and then see if you have issues with your e sim. If there are issues, contact your carrier. Sorry to be not more precise

I don't think that is what he @DionMedia said. I think he is saying NOT to use the iCloud transfer. Instead, do it manually, just like he showed in the video.

Also, you said it transfers all messages, does this include Whatsapp data (messages, photos, videos etc.) or do you need a separate backup within Whatsapp for that? I have no backup in iCloud or Whatsapp because it's only 32 GB so I'm a little bit afraid that I might lose all the data when transferring Whatsapp.
Hi Alpher, sorry for the late reply. This should also work for the older models. If you have not enough space in your iCloud Apple will temporarily give you additional space, so all your data should be transferred.
@@DionMedia Thanks for the reply man! But what I meant was mainly for whatsapp, because that's not in iCloud right? Whatsapp makes the backup itself. But if you don't back up anything from the app, does it still transfer all your messages, photos etc. in the chats?

A good question, but this is an American thing and I have not tried it myself. I would say after, not before the process
@@DionMedia I did it after and everything worked fine, Thanks for the reply, I did later get a reply from Consumer Cellular and they advise that it really does not make any difference. Cloning the phone is definitely the way to go.

You can put the SIM in at the beginning of the process or at the end. This process will work for sure with the 13

Does setting it up this way rather than iCloud backup mean u don’t need to enter passwords again for apps and email etc etc. also will my watch need to be added to new phone or does that transfer too?

Hi Bill, excellent question. I have no experience with this (live in UK). I would suggest to first carry over all the data and then see if you have issues with your e sim. If there are issues, contact your carrier. Sorry to be not more precise
