Best job I ever had was working at LU! The tapings for our security group was hectic! We had a gang on one of us, 500 feet in the opposite direction was a rival gang and straight ahead of us was the 6th street bridge which we had the homeless population. Every night was something new but I wouldn’t change it for the world! To this day I’m still friends with many of the talent. Paul is a amazing human being! Paul, Marty and I went to Venice beach and what a day!!! Lucha wrap party was a great too! Worked all 4 seasons and couldn’t been blessed more! Payed to watch wrestling, lift weights with talent and throw people out if I needed too!
That was such a unique program with amazing athleticism. Ricochet and many other great talents were there at one point. London's character was awesome!
Man, I was happy to find out El Rey Network is back but it's only on Roku Channel in their live channels. They show 4 episodes a day of Lucha Underground.
Never watched back in the day, but I follow it now daily on the El Rey Network it came back but it's only on the Roku live channels. They show 4 episodes a day of this amazing wrestling program.
Loved Lucha Underground such a fresh idea, that all federations were copying, including Matt & Jeff 🤣 Well the reason it ended was cause El Rey Network closed down? also some of the talent were stolen 😱
I loved lucha underground, it had a great mixture of cinematic promos and great matches. As a Mexican American it did remind me of soap operas. Also without Lucha Underground no way we would have the Disney+ AAA show.
I had heard about Lucha Underground bit because it was on EL Rey and I just was never able to find it I couldn't watch it. But I remembered a story Konnan told on the K100 show where he and the producer and network head went to scout talent and one of the shows had the Young Bucks on there and while Konnan and the producer liked what they did it was the network head going, "I'm sure how well these guys would translate to a tv audience." Which whether you agree with it or not nacks up Paul going when that first network individual left things started to unravel because the new one didn't get it.
Same here. It was all the rage but I didn't have access to El Rey. I just found that the channel is back on Roku Live Channels and that they show Lucha Underground 8 hours a day. I'm in!!

LU was ahead of its time.
💯

Prince Puma always entertained.

So many established wrestlers went to Lucha Underground and had their best gimmicks ever . The masks and names were incredibly good .

Good to hear Paul talking about Lucha Underground. I enjoy these stories! Thanks for the clip guys!

i think the guy who was at the main network left and they didn't get renewed
Robert Rodriguez is a gift to this world. When he created El Rey, I was overjoyed. I told my Texas buddy about it.
The network was pulled from television but it relaunched as a streaming thing
Yeah it's ok the Roku live channels now and they show a BUNCH of Lucha Underground daily.
People who hadn't watched wrestling in years were viewing LU all the time. Definitely was must see TV. 😊
I think I read something that one of the issues was that it was super expensive to produce. Was a cool concept though.

Thanks for answering my question Paul!
That ad at the end is great. I don’t collect figures but very creative from the guy. Really job man incorporating Cafe lore into the ad.
Impact is leaning towards that, they have cinematic segments
Mlw underground is looking promising
Its a shame Lucha Underground isn't still operating, it would be a great alternative to a frankly stale Mainstream wrestling scene
Londons character on lu was great
i'm late to this, just came across it- but just adding Paul and the rabbit tribe were really great to work with!!
Should interview someone from the fully blooded Italians
Full Blooded Italians
Where's my pizza?
