    I see now James was going in a different creative direction to Rene.
    This was rough but good of him to talk about. I do hope we see James from time too, from time to time he was a big part of the channel.

    Thanks for putting this out there, Rene. This video can save lives, as a lot of people never want to talk about addiction. Keep up the great work!

    I had a series of big surgeries in the past 3 years. The pain was grossly intense after the first one. The hospitals gave me Percs. I then realized why everyone was getting addicted to them. They made me feel like I was in a warm cloud. I decided right there to not go further. So I asked the nurse to stop giving it to me. I switched to some type of Tylenol. Those heavy opiates are no joke.

    Cannabis use has kept me away from opiates over the years. All my life I've been labeled a pothead and stoner, but I'm still alive at 48. Arthritis sneaks up on you quick and it sucks! I'm glad you're able to tell your story. Many people cannot.

    I know how tough it is. I take percs and I use tizanidine(muscle relaxer) to sleep. I have gone without it, when you have chronic neck and back pain it sucks.

    I’ve got 4 herniated discs in my lower back, and have been on and off Tramadol the last 4.5 years. It’s only been recently that I am actually addicted, physically that is. My tolerance has always been high, but recently if I don’t take them I feel like absolute shit, jittery, etc. but the docs won’t operate or do anything for my back so I guess I’ll be on them forever

    • @NiktheEnglishGreekCypriot
      @NiktheEnglishGreekCypriot 8 годин тому

      And same Renee, I can’t sleep on them either. Unfortunately my tolerance so diazepam is also high, a 10mg tablet does nothing

    I have a parent hooked on prescription opioids and it has been a struggle watching them suffer through it. It is a global crisis and pharma companies need to be dragged over the coals for what they've done. Thank you for sharing this!

    The withdrawal from opiates and benzos after long term use and abuse is the closest to hell on Earth anyone can drum up. Tops Alcohol and heroin withdrawal easily. If anyone has a great way to tell their story to keep people from going down that route at all say it loud. Unless one goes through it or have helped someone get off of it there's no way to know how important that is.

    • @thebigbadbootydaddy2648
      @thebigbadbootydaddy2648 9 годин тому

      Umm...lol hate to break it to you but you were technically going through heroin withdrawal. Heroin is one of the purest forms of opiates, the meds such as Oxys and Vicodin that they prescribe is literally prescription heroin. Alcohol withdrawal to the point of death is also something that's difficult to reach, you really have to be drinking so much, for so long and literally risk being hospitalized unless you have X amount of drinks to reach a certain blood alcohol level to function normally (yes it's that insane). A lot of people reached close to that level but because they weren't drinking way more all the time, they weren't at the point where withdrawal could literally kill them due to hyponatremia and other complications.

    You can take pain killers without getting addicted. We have this insane situation in the US now where people with chronic pain cannot get the meds they need so doctors can cover their asses.

      I agree. I got my femur shattered and a titanium rod implanted in it. As you can imagine, the pain was bitch. But doctors wouldn't temporarily prescribe anything and told me to use over the counter Tylenol. My ex was in the same wreck and got out with a couple of bruises and a twisted ankle. They kept giving her Tylenol 3s, Percocets. Basically she could pick and choose. She had good insurance though.

      @thebigbadbootydaddy2648 9 годин тому

      @@WaldoBagelTopper Interesting homie, do you think it's down to the insurance? Your injuries were by far more serious, it only made sense they gave you the opportunity to take prescribed opioids temporarily and wean you off soon as some of the pain subsides

    I think the best part Rene, is that you seem to be healthy right now (at least in the video), you seem to be in a good mindset
    the wrestling life you describe with the injuries, definitely sounds like a hard thing to go through
    like I think construction and factory work has less injuries on average than a wrestler or at least compared to the injuries you got and pretty early, and then you're expected to wrestle probably before the injuries get time to heal, which probably takes a while to really heal, and even if someone has no injuries wrestling is hard on your body

    • @thebigbadbootydaddy2648
      @thebigbadbootydaddy2648 9 годин тому

      The boys would literally hide their injuries and pretend they are not injured just so they can earn extra money from the house by wrestling the matches they are meant to appear in on a show. If you go home to recover, that means less money
