If the chisel ‘rack’ is leather, watch out for rust forming where it contacts the chisel due to condensation in the winter months.

You certainly have a decent collection of chisels! Cheers

At least the paint on the gouge prevented it from going rusty! I agree, old tools from car boot sales are both excellent value and a source of great satisfaction when you bring them back to life. Thanks for sharing, all the best

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your video! Your workshop is truly impressive and it's great to see it getting more and more complete. Watching your progress always inspires me to improve my own space.
I have to admit, I'm a bit envious of the amazing used tools you have. Here in Germany, finding good old woodworking tools is quite difficult and they can be very expensive when they do appear.
Keep up the fantastic work! I wish you all the best for your future videos and your workshop. Looking forward to seeing more from you!

It's hard to resist buying more tools at those prices Matt, even if you don't really need them all, looking forward to some restoration videos from you soon, particularly the Marples gouge & chisels the Dovetail saw and the Drawknife !

Great video with some cool stuff you've purchased.
I'm the same. I like all the old tools and have a selection that needs some tlc and a place to live 😊
I like the pencil sharpener too. I've got a similar one that I acquired in a shed clearance job I had. I use it all the time... 😊

Nice finds! I'm not nearly as lucky with the boot sales in my area. However I did find an old Moore and Wright engineers square for £2.

Hi Matt, what a good buy from the car boot sale, I love a car boot , there is a good car boot sale about 15 mins away from me at Chirk, Wrexham and when it's a good day it can be very big and it can take up to 4 hours to get around if it spills in to the next field.
I love old tools from screwdrivers to hand planes to Stanley hand drills ( the original cordless drill..........) Most of my hand tools and power tools are from this car boot, I would say that 85/90% of them are second hand. Never have enough chisels and screwdrivers, I own 15 electric drills for £3 or £4 I can't say no got to have it. I do like your metal pigeon holes and I do like the wax rust look, you had a good buy there and looks well on the wall. As always a great video, Take care

Hi Matt, you certainly have got some bargin buys there, the 'pidgin hole' boxes looked great, but I think you should give so e serious thought, to building a shed just for your tools, bedt regards from a Kiwi living in Australia, Les

    Awesome finds, Matt! Congrats! 😃
But you know, you can easily build an electric pencil sharpener using a 9g hobby servo (with metal gears, just to be safe) and a 5v power supply. I did one once, I made the box out of MDF, but I didn't have the correct tools at the time, so... It ended up breaking. 😬
Anyway, could be a nice little project! I'm definitely going to build another one someday. 😊
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Adding a cover over the rust will only slow the rust not stop it but they do look good.

Hey Matt, i covert your pencil sharpener very much, every time I look they are silly money, far too much, may I ask how much you shelled out on it? hope it was around £60 otherwise I will be very very very jealous. indeed. love your letter racks too, very nice purchase.

At what point will you stop sticking things on the walls 😂 it was once a bright clear (ish) working space now it's a dark cluttered tool storage shed.
