Am planning to do the same track. Your presentation was very enjoyable. Thank you for the level of research that you put into it. When you get to these places, it always improves the experience, when you know a little about where you are and what it is you’re looking at.

      Thankyou!
      It certainly does.
I've travelled the Simpson a number of times and, as a consequence, got to know the history of it fairly well.
We thought it was about time the Madigan story was told as it's not only an integral part of the Simpson story but a great story in its own right!

We did this trip in 1995 there was no track gps coordinats only found all madigans marker stakes now it is a track that must be progress from Windorah to poeppels corner water everywhere from big red between every dune up to a 800mm of water trip of a lifetime wildflowers everywhere

      Yep.
I did it a previous time before this video was filmed also.
Same thing. Had to use GPS to find the camp markers. Track barely visible in a lot of places. It was dry and late in the season. If there hasn't been recent traffic the winds and shifting sands can soon cover up the existing track.
It can certainly change a great deal!
      Thanks for watching

Nothing else in sight except Landcruisers and the occasional Hilux and that's not at all unusual in these parts.

Yes. That was certainly my experience. Won't be using them again. The replacement Century Overlander is still going strong.
