Thanks! This is the first "first drive" review I've seen of the hybrid configuration. Nice to see its enhanced acceleration punch and the non-shifting smoothness of the electronic CVT. Based on what you said, it looks like I won't miss too much the twin turbo 2.7 V6 I have in my 2019 Nautilus, and might even like it a bit more with e-CVT transmission. It is amazing how much you get in that $54k base Premier, and I say this as someone who has a Black Label hybrid on order. As for your dislikes, the more oval-shape to the steering wheel doesn't bother me. I personally like the ability to view driver information above the wheel (and immediately below the windshield). But I agree on the D-pad controls. They do look simple and elegant and I'll probably get used to them, but at least as of now I much prefer the labeled D-pad controls in my current Nautilus.
I’ve had my 2024 Nautilus Hybrid about 10 days now and I love it. The performance is great. The electronics are a little overwhelming at first but quickly mastered. Once you get the hang of it, they’re great. Same with steering wheel - different at first, but you adapt to it quickly. I also like the fact that all Nautilus’ are AWD - they made that standard across the model. I love it!
As an owner of the Lincoln Corsair plug in hybrid, there is an obvious advantage of the plug in. Your mileage doubles. So what is the usable advantage of the hybrid add on to the Nautilus? 28 to 31 mpg? That's not an advantage.
Very thoughtful and insightful review. Thanks for sharing the hybrid variation of this new Nautilus. Looking forward to seeing one in person soon!
That’s a good review!
Just test drove this morning. The steering wheel is great - very comfortable and easy to manage. Was incredibly impressed with the build quality.
The ride is definitely luxurious, not sporty.
Current 23 model rental for the past 2 weeks and this thing is solid. Up and down the freeway. City, highway, overtake Ferrari’s! Ok not the last part, but this hybrid I would consider! Thanks for sharing!
I would love to get one that's about 2 years old, same model after the initial depreciation! Great value I think!
The Lincoln brand is considered amongst the highest of the luxury brands and is absolutely HUGE in China! They demand perfection which is why this vehicle turned out so beautifully. Anything less would be unacceptable in the luxury market there.
Love an ECVT. So reliable and smooth
The steering wheel is the first thing that caught my attention when they introduced the 24. Chrysler used that shape wheel on the 60-63 Imperial and I've owned several of those. They are a breeze to drive. I was put off by the 2.0 and not ready to trust a hybrid yet. I bought a 23 Black Label with 2.7 V6, even though I liked a lot about the 24. The driving experience seemed more important then the tech.
infotainment system encourages distracted driving, we have to be entertained? nothing to do with your review, you did very good with conveying the driving experience, thanks
Well, that answers that :) My wife just picked up her new 2024 Nautilus Reserve II and as we were setting everything up (profiles, etc.) and I was surprised there was no tach. I have a 2021 F150 Lariat Hybrid, and the one was I know it's running on electric is the RPM gauge shows zero.
If you put the gas mileage tracker in the main display it will tell when the engine is on or when it is running in electric mode.
Hoping and praying for a mechanical awd hybrid good mpg maverick 🙏 (no Turbo needed)
I really appreciate everything that you shared in this video. The car looks amazing. It would've been better to have more video of the car less of you especially when driving. It's kind of weird to be going down the road in a car looking sideways.
I have owned Lincolns for 30 years, I never thought it would be built in China with a 4-cylinder engine and a CVT transmission. I will pass.
Built in china no thanks.
I liked Lincoln when they had the TownCar. You could hit potholes all day and never notice. They’d run 500k miles with minimal maintenance. This vehicle won’t last 150k miles.
Yes I agree with you I will pass also I've owned a 2015 Lincoln MKZ/Hybrid and I will Pass Also 👎
FORD hybrid eCVT is the same as eCVT found in TOYOTA hybrids (toyota called it power split device). This is the magical device how toyota achieves very high fuel efficiency and makes hybrid reliable. It is connected directly by sun and planet gears. It is completely different from cvt used in nissan and other brands' gas vehicles. I have driven both ford and toyota hybrids since 2015. Both hybrid technologies came from the same root and they are very reliable.
Can you grab some shots of the engine and trans identification tags? I also suspect they are US built
Who wants US built
@@raypoon991people who want to keep jobs in the U.S. do.
How did you feel the acceleration was compared to the V6?
Very strong and linear
The single accessory drive belt drives only the water pump? What drives the A/C compressor?
The A/C is electric driven by the high voltage battery
Impressive luxury SUV for $54,000. If like the Refreshed 2025 Ford Explorer. Many items on it's predecessor that were options are now standard equipment. I thought Awd was an option, plus the new base model has a fantastic interior. Not available on the previous models. My systems gets finger prints when someone that has dirty fingers touch the screen. I have a watch/Jewelry cleaning type cloth for an easy wipe down.
Like GM who builds their Buick, and a couple Chevy SUVs in China. It looks like the digital displays and the strange steering wheel comes from the Chinese customer. I'm curious what the mpg is?
Having seen the 2025 Explorer ST and platinum. I feel the Ford's digital Experience layout is much better. The infotainment center connects with the drivers digital screen like navigation. It uses a blue tooth game controller with the ability to connect to the Internet when parked. I'm a big fan of the new refreshed Explorer STs new front and rear along with the stitching in the seats and throughout the vehicle. Your getting s luxury SUV with 400 horsepower of performance for around $57,000. 21" All season performance tires. Heated /Cooled seats front. Heated rear. Unfortunately the Ford Explorer currently doesn't offer a hybrid. But I'll take the performance. Your mpg should increase in city driving.. Get use to those hi-tech screens. Your starting to see them in all new vehicles. The upcoming new Ram pickup uses a full dash screen. Thanks for the ride along
As an owner of the Lincoln Corsair plug in hybrid, there is an obvious advantage of the plug in. Your mileage doubles. So what is the usable advantage of the hybrid add on to the Nautilus? 28 to 31 mpg? That's not an advantage.
More power is the advantage here not so much mileage
You never showed the back seat area and what it has there for conveniences. Is it AWD? No headup display I guess. What are the seat adjustments? Is steering wheel power adjusted? You left out a lot of info.
I was on limited time for the this review and I was not able to cover everything. With that being said the steering wheel was a manuel adjustment and AWD is standard on all 24 Nautilus
You don't need heads up - that massive screen functions as your heads up display. On Reserve and Black Label, the steering wheel is electric adjustment.
What’s the specs on the engine? Mpg? Horsepower? Torque? Etc
2.0 MPC Ecoboost with 250 hp and 275lbs of torque and MPG is 31 city 30 highway 31 combined
Head Up Display option available ?
No option of a head up display available
You don't need one - that massive screen functions as your heads up display
whats the epa mpg..
31 city 30 highway 31 combined
@@jmc6000 thanks
I was onboard until you said “manufactured in China” …No way Lincoln!
Seems like you don’t really know the car or where it’s made
Exactly
Oh I know all about the car and exactly where it's made
4cyl can’t toe shit.
I would never buy this. 6 cyl turbo minimum. Lincoln is going the wrong direction. I'll stick to my 2019 nautilus.
U said manufactured in China! What the flip?
Yes it is assembled in China unfortunately
Very funny how Americans are buying changan vehicles without knowing it. Go for it, your Changan Nautilus 2024 😂
Buy American but it’s made in China 😂
China? Cvt? Oh no ;((
eCVT is totally different animal than a regular CVT
