In this Minecraft 1.18 Redstone Tutorial I show you how to make a 2x2 Flush piston door. This is the latest in my series of Simple Redstone Tutorials to help beginners do things with redstone. This Minecraft 2x2 Flush Piston Door. can also be known as a Jeb Door.
This Simple Minecraft 2x2 Flush Piston Door 1.19 is tested in the latest Minecraft 1.19 update.
For this you will need:
4 Repeaters (maybe 1 extra as well)
some Redstone
12 Sticky Pistons
1 Lever
5 Redstone Torches
Pink wool (to look pro)
Blocks of choice
Piston doors are my absolute favourite thing to do in Minecraft. I love making them, I love designing them. That is why this Flush 2x2 Piston door is one of my favourites to build in my worlds.
As I always like making hidden things in Minecraft this can be used to hide your base away, no one will know it's there!!
I like to make a simple Minecraft redstone tutorial that is easy to follow and works in the latest update. For more complicated designs and weird and wonderful things I recommend you check out @ThatMumboJumbo and his channel full of cool redstone things.

when you said redstone can seem terrifying but can be pretty simple, I thought ok let me try this by myself first.
I started by sticking levers directly to pistons to see which pistons need to be on/ off when, and understood that the side pistons need inverted signals, with a bit of delay compared to center pistons.
It pretty much worked at this point but I noticed the funny thing where one side was coming out & going back with some delay, then realized the repeater from the signal from one side to another was adding 1 tick to the signal, leading me to decrease one tick from the farther side.
came back to video & saw that I made pretty much the exact same thing! but feels so satisfying to figure it out yourself.
thanks a lot
I haven’t played Minecraft since 1.17, so I’m happy to learn again
Awesome! 1.19 is fun!
1.17?

I LOVE the look of the flush doors! So clean looking and now I actually think I can do one up
They are actually very simple to do! I hope this helps :)
yeah you can do one because you just watched a tutorial
@@ActoSket very agro
@@ActoSket so true lol

how do you put a lever on the other side to close it? other than that the door is great
This helped so much! I had to make a few “modifications” because the reds tone signal didn’t go to the lower half of the door, so it half flush, but now it’s working perfectly
How did you manage that I can’t seem to do it
Instead of having the red atone above the pistons, I put it level with the top row, so the signal would go into the bottom row as well
@@blabla1036 pardon my silly question but doesn't that block the way?
@@patricktheminion6580 From what I remember, no it did not.
@@blabla1036 thank you and I hate to be a pain but what do you mean by in line with the top row because when I put it in line it blocked the top block of the pathway in with pink wool (for context ofc)
I am playing in a smp and wanted a secret door for in amountain and now i exactly know how to do it, tysm
You’re welcome! Any problems let me know!!!
Чувак хоть ты и говорил на английском и я нечего не понимал, но я тебе очень благодарен за это видео, ты мне очень помог. Спасибо тебе большое!)))
i actually used to build a simpler version of it but i tried it now and my old version still kinda works
Im so happy this guy exists the way he explains stuff is amasing when i first started my redstone secret bace world i watched him and ive enterd a minecraft faze and im back to him 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 keep up the good work bro
❤️ thank you for watching!! I appreciate everyone who watches my videos 🎉🎉🎉
Now, the only thing that's keeping me from making a flush door to access my slime farm is my horrendous luck with slimes actually spawning inside of my slime farm
Such a cool way to open doors,I maybe wont use it in survival but thank you for showing this to me,I still cant stop listening to that satisfaction😌
Haha! Thanks for watching! You could totally make this in survival!
Thanks, I made an underwater base entrance with this
Thx for tbe Video, I never realy tried to do redstone but this gave me hope I could do it👌👍
I’m glad! Hope it comes in handy :)
I made a adjustment for my pvp server and i put some dispensers behind the door that shot fire charges far away at a brittish city, thank god we built in a mountain, the door really helped
'What more would you want?' TO CLOSE IT BEHIND ME AND BE ABLE TO OPEN IT FROM THE INSIDE lol
😂 I do cover this in my latest 2x2 piston door video on my channel 🙂 it’s at the end of the video.
the pistons keeping unsticking from the other pistons, so instead of bringing them to the side to open the door, it just leaves them there , leaving the door constantly closed :/
I was wondering if u used normal pistons or sticky pistons
@@DihydrogenMonoxideGuy i don’t even remember what world i tried this on anymore, but i was definitely sticky, that’s why i was so confused. it may just have been my version of mc
Very late but it probably your repeaters messed up if the nonpiston blocks are not pulled back first they will unstick
@@jwas278You probably set your repeaters to the wrong amount of tics so the Pistons got all discombobulated when you activated the redstone.
The ticks probably weren’t set up right, a piston (doesn’t matter if it’s a sticky piston or not) can’t move another piston if the one you’re trying to move is extended
Ive followed step by step and the bottom two of the door dont come out, im at 4:21
This is the most useful Minecraft channel on UA-cam
this used to need so much less redstone, i remember a way of using like 7 pieces and 2 repeaters and a lever
Yeah I’m trying that wondering why it dosnt work anymore. Why did they break it rip.
thanks bro now i can hide my 35 diamonds from my friends more securely
Thanks for watching! 😀
Wanted to make one of this with the new calibrtated sculk sensor, sadly my brain cells go negative everytime i start working with Redstone, this was really helpful tho
This piston door is more complicated than it needs to be.
you can make it much more simple by just covering the pistons on the top with redstone and then connecting them with repeaters and more redstone.
(it's kinda hard to explain in text)
doesnt work in java the redstone breaks since the piston is updating
thanks. just needed the first look of the tech
Having a bit of trouble with this, when the lever is flipped, the torches on the right don't get turned off so only half the door opens. I've checked and re checked multiple times and I built it exactly as you showed. Is there something extra I need to do to connect the repeaters on the right to the circuit so they shut the torches off? I am trying to hide the redstone underground like you did at the end but you were very light on details there so I'm having difficulty understanding where I went wrong.
I have another video on this that I may show more info, check out my channel. If the red stones connected you may need an extra repeater if it’s not reaching? Also if you do add an extra repeater you may have to change the ticks on the ones you have
@@Sassyfish I'm going to have to take another look tonight after work, thanks for taking the time to reply.
This ended up being my mistake and I fixed it. The repeaters on the right side weren't connected to the circuit because I had placed a block above where the redstone "stepped up" and it cut off the circuit. I had to run it a bit further out to the right and wind back once I was past another wall on the right so it stayed hidden, and then added one more repeater and all is working beautifully. Thanks for the tutorial.
same with me
How do u make lever for the inside?
Thank you for the tutorial!!!!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!!
do you know how to make the redstone connnect to the other side? do i just hook it up the same on the other side?
awesome video, but I still have to find a way to open it from the other side... how fun...
Just what I needed, thank you! :)
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
Hey, just wanted to say thanks for the great and compact design :)
You’re welcome! Glad it helped!
great tutorial! Thank you!
very helpful, everyone makes redstone so much more complicated but a good look at the internal systems and how everything connects is all I need to know how each part works, I've been a builder in minecraft mainly for 6 years and I've only started fiddling with redstone for the past year and a half, I am now regretting not learning how it works sooner cause it creates such amazing builds
awesome! works great
Great to hear! Thanks for watching!
Thanks! Your videos are super helpful!
That’s awesome! Thanks for watching!!
I wanted to try this but with pressure plates
Thanks!
You’re welcome!

Yw!
"its really simple" the Me when i see the redstone: wow its simple(my mind:my god )
Lol, it looks harder than it is. If you’re on Java my latest 2x2 piston door video has a few different designs
wanted to make a 2x2 accidentaly made a 1x2 not sure if i like it more lmao

Same
How do u make the red stone torch set up like the top at the bottom
Yeah thats what im tryna figure out too
Good vid good door
This video was 3 years ago? Dang bruh but anyways I went ahead and took out the right side because I realized I could make the door way smaller and instead I used a button that could open it and a button on the inside incase I wanted to get out
i miss the old jeb door
one question: how do we get out?
lookup "How to Make a Button Work Like a Lever in Minecraft (NO PISTONS)" on yt
You don’t, you stay inside forever… or watch my tutorial on moving levers (I do it for a 3x3 piston door, but principle is the same. Hope it helps!
Hey im doing the pressure plate method but The middle sticky pistons are not moving for me
For me aswell
Problem my door works but the bottom left won’t push out far enough
How do you add a lever on the other side? I need it for my secret base.
same man
@@jakeb0y_😢
Having problems with the bottom two blocks and don’t know enough red stone to fix this because I can’t figure it out
Sounds like you’re on bedrock edition. You need redstone torches like I do above, underneath on bedrock edition
thank you
nice video, but can you please explain how to open the door on the inside?
All you would do is go where the outer lever or button is run a red stone line to the inside under ground and it should be connected and you may need a repeater or 2 depends on how long it is
@@Cowsaround14 ty
I know this is an old vid so this comment might not be seen but how do you make it so u can add a lever behind it to close it and reopen from the inside
The method in this video should help: Minecraft 1.20 3x3 Piston Door - Moving Levers Tutorial

how to make the exit lever? (for example i locked myself in but i cant get out
If it were me, I would build an Xor gate with the output going to the door. And then have a lever on both sides going into the Xor gate. Perhaps I should do a tutorial.
Could I connect like a cauldron and place water in it or open a chest to activate it?
Rather than delaying the opening of the doors, is there a way to make the doors stay open longer?
When using a button, btw
*now how the heck do i exit from inside?*
that does work but pleeeeeeeas do a tutorial for education ediyion becaus maybe it work for java, but what about education edition becaus as you know, java and education redston system are really differrent
I made this use a calibrated skulk sensor
IK I am 2 years late but sadly now it does not wokr in 1.21, the top pushes out but no the bottom, I will tinker with it and I will edit this later when I fix it (The bottom piston does not open)
I DON"T KNOW MY VERSION ALL I KNOW ITS BROKEN
Edit: I fixed it, you have to on the right side (the one with out the pink stairs) make it go under ground one block to the left, (away from the wall off of the redstone coming off the repeater.) turn towards the pink stairs and go one block down, place a redstone dust, then on block forward place a repeater, a block, then on the other side place a redstone torch then infront of it place dust, then drop down on block and place a dust then break one block infront place another dust, and to the left (underneath the bottom pistion make it be TWO blocks apart underneath) place a sticky piston on both sides underneath the non-working pistons. then place a redstone block on the pistons.
This doesn't work on Java-Bedrock Crossplatform servers i just tried it smh ;w; nice work tho loved the video keep it up!
Try adding a torch setup underneath like the one above the door. That’ll make it work on bedrock
how do i make another lever and redstone stuff so i can close from the other side
If you watch my second 3x3 piston door follow up video it shows how to do this, same applies to any piston door really
Hey!, i just have a question, can you make it open and close from the inside too? and if you can, how do you do it?
What if i want to close/open them from the other side? I mean how can i get switch on both sides
My latest 2x2 piston door video has a section on doing that
when i put the redstone torch on the wool like you did i did not get the same result
nvm i fix
minecraft redstone explained by thor odin 😂
I Don't Know if I just suck at Redstone but mine Didn't move when I Flipped the Lever
Is the wool needed or can it be done by something else? (Sorry for bad English)
Use whatever block you want really
@@Sassyfish ok thank you 😁
anyone else having the trouble of one piston that makes the door flush not extending
If you’re building on bedrock edition you need torches underneath same as above
These tutorials are making me want to play around with redstone
Do it! Redstone is so fun! I’m so glad people are enjoying them.
Doesn’t power the bottoms two pistons
mr breast approved door
Hey i want to know what changed i have to do to close it by the inside
thanks for being straight forward and direct
You're welcome! I hope it helps!!
Need to make sure you make it clear this is not a bedrock build so people aren't confused
hi how do i open the door from the other side
so i replaced lever with button and Iam wondering how can I make the door stay open for little longer?
I have one qestion how do i open it from the inside
The bottom pistons pushing forward to make the door flush aren’t firing for me no matter how many times I try and change up the way you’re doing it
thanks! this was really easy to follow and very helpful :)
I’m glad it helped!!!
i wanna hide the lever on the front side, is it possible?
It's possible to hide it, I would put it under a moss carpet. Less obvious.
@@Sassyfish Thanks
Why is it easier to do command block rater then doing restone?
hi. not sure if you still respond to comments but for some reason the back right part of my door wont open? how do i fix this
How do you open it from the inside
Watch my latest video on 2x2 piston doors, I go through that a bit at the end.
mine wont work. the flush part doesnt work
ha imagine not knowing redstone
when i tried it one block got stuck. how do i fix that
Im on bedrock, how to make bottom pistons work?
Hiya! I have designed a couple of these doors on bedrock. You basically need to repeat what I have done above, but below. I'll be releasing a video on a couple of designs for this soon.
The bottom two pistons wont extend into the flush door when the top two get the signal... so its not working. But im wondering why would they? they arent connected to redstone. actually i dont understand why it IS working in the video... is this a java/bedrock thing?
Just slapping on an iron door with a lever
😂
At 4:00 the pistons at the bottom dont push out for me
same here
Same here it might be because 1.18 fully released they might have changed it
@@paytonjosewsk4339 nah i checked its actually an issue on bedrock. Bedrock doesnt have quasiconnectivity which allows two pistons in a column to be powered from one source. Just look up bedrock compatible jeb doors and ull get something
This is on Java :)
It’s also in Minecraft 1.18
does this not work anymore? my bottom 2 wont go forward. i have no idea if i somehow messed up or if an update prevents it. everything seems to be copied right tho
Can I open this from the inside? I kinda want to get out through the entrance
Yeah, if you check out my latest 2x2 video it goes into a bit more depth on button placement etc
How do you make it where you can flip it from the other side
Check out my moving levers tutorial for my 3x3 piston door. Same will work on this.
