I committed on this video earlier. I had a similar setup. Recently I sold my overhive pedal and picked up the tumnus deluxe and remover the mini tumnus. So my pedal order…heavy to light for my drive/boost. Tumnus deluxe, morning glory, vertex boost. As always great video. Blessings bro
Just bought my tumnus . Still waiting for it but the way you use your chain is exactly what I had in mind. Great minds think alike! Great video! Killer tone🙏🏻
I just picked up the mini Tumnus myself. Got it to try it like a 2nd stage dirt pedal but I’m still trying to figure it out as it so versatile. Your video helps a lot. Thank You.
At 6:12 I had to go back and double check you said Deep Six into Morning Glory into Tumnus. I’ve never really noticed how my brain automatically orders pedals from right to left and not left to right so when they were on the screen left to right I thought the compressor was last and it hurt my tired brain. Lol. Great video! I had the Gold J Rockett Archer iKon Klon for years. They really do play well with all the other pedals, amps and guitars I tried it with. Which is rare. Not sure why I don’t have it anymore but I must have used it to fund something else. Love videos like this one. ⚡️👏
When I had the Archer Klon I would experiment with where it was in my signal chain often. I would always end up with it back first in my drive chain. I would rarely use it by itself though, but I always loved how it pushed other drives after it. Especially pushing the Morning Glory. One of my best mates loves to runs his at the end like you do... funny how that is.
Thank you for this video. I recently swapped out my TS-9 for my Boss BD-2 and run the Wampler Tumnus after it. I just added compression with the Wampler mini Ego and really am enjoying it. I play a 1995 Fender ‘52 Tele reissue. My signal chain is: Peterson StroboStomp tuner>TC Helicon Spark Mini (clean boost set low)>Wampler Mini Ego compressor >Boss Blues Driver BD-2>Wampler Tumnus >Mini>Wampler Ethereal (delay and reverb)>Boss CH-1 Super Chorus>Fulltone Supa-Trem (tremolo). I feel like I can get all the options I need for worship lead guitar from clean, ambient, big delay/reverb to several gain stacking tones with tremolo at the end.
Excellent info and review! I bought a Tumnus today. My plan it to run it alongside a Strymon Riverside (Gtr-tuner-comp-Tumnus-Riversid - Mesa California Tweed amp with Boss DD-500 delay in the effects loop). Will do some experimenting but Im thinking of using the Tumnus for mostly blues based-low-mid gain applications then set up the Riverside for the higher gain stuff. Maybe use the Tumnus to boost the Riverside on leads too. We shall see. Thanks for the review.
I'm on a budget so I settled for the Joyo Tauren instead of a name brand like the Wampler Tumnus. Should arrive tomorrow! I appreciate all the sound samples and explanations. Thanks for the video!
I have a tone corset compressor going into the morning glory going into a tumnus going into my ts9, rat or big muff op amp, among other pedals in the chain, those are all connected. Love how they interact ! Nice video
Great video! It’s funny, I also use a Tele (and a JM) into a Compressor >> Morning Glory >> Tumnus. It is the tone of the gods. 😅 I like your approach with the Tumnus settings though. Subtle but very good.
Great vid and explanation.. like many who saw this vid, I bought the pedal today and am looking for the right placement …. I have the TS9 , Wampler, Belle, SD1, and T Rex Mudhoney 2 just for my drives … yes it’s a lot but as a worship guitar player and giging player you gotta have a wide range Thanks again!
Liked #182 👍🏻 Tumnus caught my attention even though I'm predominantly into playing metal high gain tones. Your demo here definitely makes me want to get one & try it out. So far, I have Maxon OD 808, MXR GT OD & Xotic BB Preamp OD pedals
Hi! Glad of you can help on placement. Where do you place it? Before (i.e. closer to guitar) the boost? Before the equilizer? Before the compressor? I know it is somewhere there after the wah wah and before the delay/ reverb
Personally I use it as a 2nd stage drive. After compression and after my 1st stage drive (for example: JHS Morning Glory). But, before effects like delay and reverb.
New subscriber.....just found your channel today. I am a worship leader and have some of the same pedals so it was cool to see how your run them. I was running my tumnus into my Morning glory but I think I am going to change them around and see what I get. Do you have any experience with the Greer Lightspeed? I am running the lightspeed into a setting in my Pod Go that sounds pretty cool.
Hi...My set up is close to yours. I have the morning glory w/ the red remote going int the tumnus mini going into the odr-1 mini. I was thinking about selling the tumnus and getting the new lil rat. Still on the fence....
Question... Have you ever used it in an effects loop? I just tried it after having it in my effects chain normally and it seems to have rendered it almost useless.
@@JCruzProject I've never used effects loops either but using the effects loop with my my audio sprockets tonedexter and running the sound out the tonedexters DI out has made the (tonedexters) tone infinitely better. Only thing is that the Wampler's tone is rendered almost useless.
Hi never heard a telecaster typ guitar sound so dark, it´s and old trick to sell and overdrive. With that tone I can make ANY cheap overdirve sound good, Nice try, Oh I kept on wahtching and you said you were in the bridge position, come on, a Tele in the bridge position with a Klon type pedal will eat you alive. I bet your tone control is rolled 50% off. Peopple are not stupid, everybody knows an overdive pedal must be used in an amp that slightly distorted or at the onset of break up and push it into distortion thats where the nam OVERDRIVE comes. oh and It must be a tube amp, that´s the hard part, a 150u$ peal mus be connected to a 2000 u$ amp to sound like It sould. Why donpt you just tell the truth so that kids that just beguin to explore sounds don´t esdte teir lunch break money into a pedal that will dissapoint them, thinj about It. You may be responsible for children giving up on guitar. And just for a small money you get from the music store arround the corner (yes , I also know that Whampler wont make a deal with you) not because your face, Its because you´re not a big influencer yet. You´ll get there but not now
I can’t express how off you actually are on this. I don’t normally respond to comments like this, but you’ve insulted my intentions. If you don’t agree with my methods, then move on. But to accuse me of anything other than being honest to the best of my ability is completely false and you should of kept your judgmental comments to yourself.

Nice! Thank you again!!
Great tone bro.
Love it for being able to achieve so many characteristics as you describe just through the touch.
Just bought my tumnus . Still waiting for it but the way you use your chain is exactly what I had in mind. Great minds think alike! Great video! Killer tone🙏🏻
Enjoy it! Thank you 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Thank you so much! Enjoy the pedal!
Just got my Tumnus deluxe. I love it! Just gotta take time to dial in the sweet spot and figure out where you want it in your chain

@@countstoneula I've never tried the Archer, but have always heard that was a great one! I too love this pedal pretty much anywhere in the chain, lol

Sounds amazing Kurt!
I own a tumnus deluxe and stacked with my bonsai on the ts10 setting its heaven. The added EQ function is what sold me on the deluxe.
Nice. The eq is a great addition for sure.
Great review 👍
Thank you 🙏🏼

Sounds like a great rig!!!

Thank YOU for watching. The Joyo stuff is GREAT! You won’t regret it.
The Tumnus is one of the most pure sounding OD pedals on the market. It would be a bargain at twice the price.
It really is special.
I use the tumnus deluxe paired with a EQD Plumes. Never played a Tumnus but the EQ tweakability of the deluxe is amazing!!
The pedal is a win for sure!
nice gain stacking info🤟😎🎸 thanks bro

Haha! Thank you. Truly appreciate it.
I'm using a Tele>Compressor>Double Barrel (mainly just using the Morning Glory side)>Tumnus too. Sounds soooo good.
Excellent Demo..

Hey! Well, I used mine as a 2nd stage drive. So just after a “transparent drive” and then I’d stack the 2 for a solo sound.
Just got one ,great pedal.makes all my pedals sound better,
100%! Such a great pedal!

So cool! I'm glad my demo helped.
I think you’ll like the tone better if you put the Morning Glory going into the tumnis and the tumnis going into the tube screamer.
Love that Nash Tele
A truly special instrument.

Great video, very helpful! Would you recommend putting a compressor after or before the tumnus? Or does it work well both ways?
Thank you! Personally I like compression as close to my guitar as possible. So that would make it in front of the Tumnus.

Welcome! Thank you so much for your support. I haven’t tried the lightspeed in a very long time. I remember it being similar to the Morning Glory.
George, I’m the lead guitar player in a worship band as well and am wondering what signal chain you ended up putting your tumnus in?
@@Mallett98- hey there. I currently have it as as my 2nd gain stage after my Timmy.
Exactly what I wanted to know, how the tumnus would interact with the morning glory. Thank you 👌🏼

I hope you kept the Tumnus and bought the Rat!

Hey! No, I’ve personally never tried that before. I usually prefer not to honestly.

Why does it sound so muffled?
At 7:03 , we found oursekves in a midrange mess, sorry It keeps getting worse,
