The Casio Duro is in class by itself. Casio could easily sell this watch for quite a bit more. It looks so good on the wrist. Other brands have to rely on fussy details and make believe provenance to market their stuff. The Duro just keeps on owning its niche and shaming the big watch brands.
These are fantastic watches. I had the original black for nearly a decade, beat it up good. I treated it like I would one of my G-Shocks. It was my yard work watch, work with power tools/construction, kayaking, camping, etc. It was always within +5 sec/month and never failed me. I ended up loosing it in a move. Always wanted another and this blue is speaking to me :-)
I got the black one and I think it’s stunning looking. The second hand hits every seconds marker perfectly. The rubber strap is really comfy. I am now going to get the blue one too. I feel like a king wearing my new watch 👑
To everyone worried it's too big. It's not! It absolutely, definitely, wears smaller. I know everyone says that about bigger watches, but in this case it's true!
@@badhabitz69 i don't have this one but i used to wear mm300 and sumo, even though mm300 is 44mm but the lug is shorter at 50mm than the sumo (53mm) so it wears a lot smaller. i'd say the same for the duro too. i have a small wrist (~6.5")
I thought the same thing but I bought the green bezel for 11 bucks clearance at Walmart went back to a different Walmart to find the blue one also for 11 bucks I got two 50 or 60 dollar watches for 24 bucks
I would love a 40MM like everyone else...BUT when using this watching for hiking / biking / swimming etc this size is soooo perfect! One glance and I got the time...in the ocean and the pool again awesome. The size is perfect for its intended use.
I have the black and it's by far my most favorite watch for daily use. The factory strap is very comfortable. I have a 7-1/4" wrist and it's the perfect size. It has presence but doesn't get in the way. It's my daily beater and I wear it to work every day and I've given ut several knocks and it's still not scratched. If you have a smaller arm & wrist, this might feel too heavy but I really like it.
Man, the blue really evolves the look of the watch. i had the black version and it was working perfectly after 8 years of abuse until I gave it away to a friend. If they made a 40mm version, Casio would be kicking themselves that they didn't do it sooner because there's a community of slender wristed individuals that want this watch but can't sport it. Alias Anybody I can agree with that as well as it would make the lug to lug at 46mm. But still not enough of a jump for me. I have an SKX013 so it’s conditioned me to 40mm or less as an ideal choice (personally).

Ordered one today. I had seen one of these which had been available in Europe somewhere and was an older style. I was stoked it was in blue and am now jacked that a blue one is available.

Just scored one off of Amazon for around $50 with tax. Came with the much-maligned resin band. Hacked it to NIST (WWV) and put it on about _three days ago_ and have not taken it off. For its 44 mm size and supposed bulkiness, It's incredibly comfortable and has lost precisely *ZERO SECONDS* over the 72 hours.
I own the same watch , mine is on a Barton's navy blue soft silicone strap . Pure magic . I wish this watch had Lumabright on that dial even if the price climbed to $ 100.00 . I'd buy it . I used the Casio strap for my SKX007J which came with a medieval torture device instead of a rubber strap . I believe that thing was made of compressed asphalt .
I got my MD106B-2AV new (old stock) today. Beautiful blue color, love it. The secondhand hit de indices most of the time, bezel clicks feel very nice and solid. The strap is better/softer than I expected. Baught it yesterday new for Euro 117,-. It is not easy to get the 106 cheaper at an AD. The new Duro 107 goes here (The Netherlands) for about Euro 79,-.
Got the trifecta and Sapphire crystal mod. Also another blue delivered today for Grandsons birthday, age 17, time for a nice watch. Upgraded with steel bracelet and clasp as per Jody mods on JOMW channel. $65 US delivered to NZ
I have the black great watch for the money. If I find a good deal on the blue I might pick one up. I will say this Casio is the king of the affordable watches and durable watches. I think they build what they want and don't really care what the competition is doing because they set the bar for affordability and durability

I'm considering doing the same but with a bracelet instead. I DO like the orange for the brighter pop of color, but then I also like the black/silver combo. Too many choices!

Received my black version last night. Yes the Casio strap is real nice. Love the glossy black dial almost dark grey. I will add a sapphire xstal with AR coating soon. When they are available. Out of stock.
@MrShinobi797 , yes Sir. Crystaltimes. They have AR coated and non coated. Both out of stock😤 they are slightly domed. Double domed so no distortion. I want one for mine when they are restocked.
I have seventy watches plus....seiko's, vostok's you name it....but my humble duro see's a lot of wrist time....please god release this in the UK.......don't disappoint me Casio. This punches miles above its weight. I also agree a 42mm version would go like crazy.

Hey Rob, I have a question that I think everybody has, but I've never seen it addressed. When you own soooo many different watches and watch styles, how do you rotate them in everyday use so that you actually use them? I have my favorite watches which I certainly use more than the others, but in reality I could probably cut my collection down to 5>10 watches and still not give them all a workout. How do you do it?
In my opinion it does wear pretty big. But it should because it’s ‘pretty big’...On my 7 1/2 inch wrist it’s ok I suppose… But I don’t know if I’d recommend it for anybody with less than a 7 inch wrist. A nice NATO seems to help conform. I have the blue...and the black. One really cool thing that you can do to these!!!The planet ocean bezel Inserts fit perfectly...It’s a super easy mod and you can make this $50 watch look awesome. I put Ceramic inserts on both of them And wow it transforms the watch...Also of note: Any bracelet that is made to fit an S KX will fit the Duro...You may or may not have to bend the spring bars a bit...Might have to use 24mm Spring bars(Cheap)To compensate for the length when you bend them...But it’s super easy and there’s a whole lot of bracelets out there for the SKX...
There is also the MDV-106G, which is black and gold. Amazon calls it a women's watch for some reason, so it doesn't appear when searching in the men's watches department.
@@zman8340 Enjoy it! You also might want to order a new strap, maybe one with gold hardware. I bought a couple of affordable NATO straps for my black dial Duro and they make it look like a much more expensive watch.
@@zman8340 I switch mine between a Modern Bond and a gray seatbelt NATO. The gray would also look good on this blue Duro, so I'll probably get it once the price drops.
@@tynungester2543 honestly people say that of 90% of big watches, but a watch like that would belong on my belt rather than my wrist. It's also unnecessarily big, the quartz movement must be 1/3 of the overall case size. Rereading my comment I realize it came out more aggressive than intended, but I'm just angry at Casio! ;)
these are cool, my black one battery lasted about a year and then the bezel turned bidirectional both ways LOL, wouldnt call it a great quality watch but def worth a beater for a few months then chuck it in the garbage and buy another !
I now have Three I got the black love it so much I got the green the blue was out stock but my wife now how to please me and she spotted it has just come back in stock looks like Father Christmas is going to look after me this year

What a great looking watch! The only thing that could make it better for me would be sapphire crystal, but of course you can't get that for that low price!
Believe it or not, but every single Casio Duro is being certified according to ISO 6425, which is the International Standard, for Dive watches! This includes shock resistance, and a few other, criteria. The rating requires these watches to be tested to 250m, of water pressure!
it just became available on the 2nd of February in the US. there is also a black and gold model. in europe there is another model (mtd-1053d-2aves) replacing of the mdv106 but it doesn't look as good... i don't think Casio will sell this new color in europe either but some sellers will probably import it once there is enough stock..

If they made it 2mm smaller (from 44 to 42) that would be pretty awesome already.

I think the resin band is super comfortable & I can understand why it comes on a dive watch since it is made for the water.

Both new models look nice, this blue and the black/gold ,but I think that the black looks best due to it's case diameter.

I reckon this will be a perfect size for me. My wrists are 8 inches and my GX-56BB-1ER fits really nicely. 55mm lug to lug.
After seeing a moded Duro I’m going to install a blue bezel insert on my black one. With a royal blue Nato this will really stand out.
