Oh to be a skeleton being tenderly caressed by your goth gf

This one goes out to all the frankenstein girls
Omg I caught the reference I love y’all
The Corpse Bride is a lot more incel-y than I remember.
You know, when I was in high school my city was doing a horror festival and showing this movie I believed to be a zombie movie, after all that was the overall theme of the festival; so, I decided to take a date to see this weird German film called Nekromantik, you know, no google or prior research, just vibes.
How'd the date go? Are you two still together?
thanks, i needed that laugh.
@@OddoFelacio Not bad? We awkwardly shuffled out of the show and ended up spending the evening at a nearby bar laughing about it.
As for the second question, lol
THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME! she was the whole movie shielding her face on my shoulder.
I'm in germany, I went to the same place where it was exhibited for the last time. btw, this is like n hommage to buttgereit and other exploitation directors: ua-cam.com/video/QbLadAegtk8/v-deo.html
The candle editing is making me hysterical
Lmaooo
Hahahah it’s impossible for me to let go of it now!
😂😂😂
When I was a normal person, I remember specifically asking my friends at the time for movies to blindwatch, one of those fuckers recommended me Nekromantik.
Now I'm here I guess.
one of us, one of us...
I remember seeing this interview with Jörg where he said something like "Nekromantik is a beautiful movie about love, and it was banned. You might be asking why would they want to ban a movie about love? I don't know why" and yeah that's Jörg for ya
I couldn't stop looking at that candle omg
“I look at my arms and am like, wow, there are bones and shit in there...”
Eloquently said 😂
But, like, relatable.
When I get high, I get all squeamish if I think about the internal components.
@@howiegruwitz3173 ew yeah like realizing you’re all veiny like a piece of celery :c
I mean, we’re just a very intelligent bunch of meat on a bony coat hanger.
alt title: the disrespect of remmington
Poor Remington. But also lucky Remington.
You gotta love the ingenuity of Nekromantik 2's protagonist, she's a real problem-solver.
so happy to see this notification, however i do have to inform you that you are NOT the first person to think way too much about nekromantic. i had a bizarre fixation with this movie for a month or so as a teen and tried to write multiple essays about it before having all my friends tell me "nah sorry but this is taking it a bit too far, i don't wanna read this" and giving up. so at least you're the probably the first to actually do something GOOD with thinking about nekromantic too much!
Really digging this blue, handlelit bathroom aesthetic, May. Just perfect.
That hand candle being edited in after it burnt out is so good just a very good video
Came for the corpse f*cking. Stayed for the Ukelele cover of Dreams.
That’s not a uke
is this also an msi song title
every Edgy Creepypasta Man Movie ever is just... "hey, look at this! it's fucked up!" and the audience either is either repulsed, or goes "uh, yeah. you are correct. that's fucked up." I guess Jorg then thought that, because not everyone was adequately disgusted, he had to do it again. "look at this! again!"
we should bully edgy creepypasta man movie directors more i think they deserve it
oh no may! you accidentally edited in the part where you told mr skeleton not to tell anyone you cuddled, but now it's in the video for everyone to see!
I watched Nekromantik because it was in the video "movies no one should ever watch under any circumstances", so obviously I HAD to watch it. I have not fully recovered from that experience.
I did laugh a couple of times though, which might indicate that I had some *problems* even before the fateful viewing.
The candle: *crackle*
May: 👁👄👁
The skeleton in the bathtub: 💀🛁
for once youtube managed to tell me you uploaded!
the fucking candle is sending me
Right? UA-cam is busy suggesting so much crap to me and ignoring channels I upvote and rewatch.
Actually loving the passive general concern over the candle
"Things get a little bit weird after the 3-way with the body." Yes, they certainly weren't weird at any point prior to that haha.
Candle Cam video, with a discussion about Nekromantik in the background
My wife had to watch Nekromantic 2 for a college class and still complains about it to this day. Seems like she was right.
offcourse its a german movie. Explains a lot.
Reminds me of the story Bog Girl: A Romance by Karen Russell, in which a 15 year old boy finds a corpse preserved for thousands of years in a peat bog, and then proceeds to date said corpse
It's actually legitimately great
I had to read that in my high school english class.
@@ashestoashes78 Wow, you must have had a very, um, open minded teacher
I also read some pretty wild stuff in high school (the play The Cripple of Inishmann comes to mind) but I feel like dating a corpse would not have flown with the suburban moms
@@lucyw4195 It was in one of those English textbooks with short stories and excerpts from literature. This textbook also had one of the tamer segments of Angela's Ashes. In hindsight, it's a bit odd to have something like that in a conservative small town high school. The teacher was strange, though.
May's cover of Dreams (by Fleetwood Mac) made sitting through this nightmare worth it.
Came here for May
Stayed because i couldn't keep my eyes off that candle
Actually stayed because these movies are ridiculous on another level and I need the cheap serotonin
This is the best channel on UA-cam, honestly
Not my cup of tea but I love hearing you talk about messed up movies you're too funny. 😂
I think I remember Cinema Snob reviewing this movie back when he was still entertaining.
OMG! I saw that head swap scene from Nekromantik 2 randomly playing on a tv at a booth at a con in the mid 90s & I've thought about it ever since! It really made an impression. Lolz. Always wondered, but never knew what film it was from until now. Thanks for solving the mystery!
The candle editing slowly kills me leaving me wide open to experience the nekromantic video essay
I AM DISGUSTED that they hired living actors to play the dead.
sweet msi reference queen
I love how whoever edited this video seemed to have a problem with the candle being put out and continued to insert a square of the burning candle in the bottom left corner.
I always preferred Nekromantik 2, personally - it's oddly romantic, even...
Is this a joke? I wanna watch it if not 😂
To me I just see mental illness 🗿😭
@Nyx Fears
Its been awhile since I've seen Nekromantik 1 and 2 at the Fantasia Festival, but I hope my comment here can add some context to both films. Firstly I honestly feel Jörg Buttgereit is genuinely a good dude. He was at the screenings of Nekromantik, and after each screening he would show a short film that was about his father. It was basically a music video that was a love letter to his dad. I know what your thinking, but it was super wholesome and endearing. From my understanding he is more interested in big monster movies like Godzilla having written a book in German about them. Nekromantik 1 and 2 are not the only films about death he has made. Death King is a anthology exploring death and suicide, and Schramm is a film that explores the mind of a serial killer. Both films are much more serious about each subject than Nekromantik, which part 2 of the film series was already starting to do. It seemed to me that he made all these films to exorcise these dark thoughts from his psyche. Much like anyone that looks into these topics you read a newspaper article where you find a story about dark and troubling things. You ask yourself why, and you go down a rabbit hole trying to figure that out. In the case of Nekromantik series it was exploring necrophiliacs. I don't think the films do a great job, but I do believe they should be classified as art. In fact there is a journalist/festival programmer named Kier-La Janisse that wrote an essay about the films that got the movies classified as art, and un-banned in Vancouver. I would say that at surface level there doesn't seem to be much there (especially with all the intentional humor and shock), but dig a bit deeper and there is merit in the material. The thing that turns a lot of people off is the animal cruelty, which I find odd because most of the people I've talked to about it eat meat. If I remember correctly both scenes from each film were animals being prepared for food.
I'm surprised it took you this long to cover this film, but if you have any questions maybe I can answer them. However I think doing a little research will answer most of your questions. Going in cold was a good idea though as your reaction was priceless. Jörg Buttgereit is a pretty interesting dude, and there are things I didn't even cover about him like his legal battle with the WB, or the rest of his work that I remember even less. One thing I do remember at this moment is that Jörg Buttgereit created the films as a push back towards the German film industry, and their reluctance to support alternative film genre.
Wait one diddly damn second!! Is that Goat Mans Bridge at the end?? I was just there a few days ago! Loved the video, thank you for all you put yourself through for us viewers May! ❤😁🤟
it is, yes
Lmao the edit of the candle looks so good
"Have you ever tasted love like this?
Cool and smooth have you ever been accepted unconditionally?
Have you ever loved someone who didn't hurt you, didn't harm you?
There's no pain and there's no pressure
No humiliation
There's no fear and there's no shame
There's no pulse now is it so strange?"
This reminds me of Kissed (1996) where a guy was pursuing a necrophiliac woman and killed himself to get her affections.
I love your into! The images are sexy spooky and has the best 80’s/90’s horror movie music! LOVE IT!!
This is why my normal 15minute breaks have become 30 minutes
I love you miss May and your aesthetic!! 🧡🧚
8:29 Aight so does anyone know of the vine/tiktok of a onceler cosplayer rushing up to the camera, saying "vibe check", and just decked the phone off whatever it was being held on? Because holy shit I remembered that and now I can't stop laughing at the thought of this dude yelling vibe check before slicing the old man's upper head off.
On a side note, ngl...I sorta need that awesome candle beside you now
your channel has such a mood. I love it.
why does this have to be in a language I can understand
Fantastic new video May! Loved the spooky bone boi intro as well and you look amazing! This made my whole day. :)
I appreciate your commitment to the bit of editing in the Hand of Glory candle after it burned out.
is that a fuckin' msi reference?
Glad to see someone else caught that!

Aaa so excited to have seen this come up in my notifs, May has blessed my day :'))))
Still the best intro song on all of UA-cam.
the overlay video of the candle oml 😂
every so often I literally binge watch all of Mays videos over again. I have never seen any of these movies haha
Ah the majesty of life is death.
Your videos are so well produced!!! its a crime you havent blown up yet !!!
is it just me or does the vibe of this movie remind me a lot of Possibly in Michigan?
Mays videos always make my day 🥺💕
I do greatly appreciate the msi reference in the title
I’ve seen this film only once but find it pretty fascinating. You articulated what’s so interesting and flawed about it really well! Thanks for talkin bout it
Wow, the end credits! That was really captivating and beautiful!! :D
6:33 me watching my food in the microwave
okay, 8 minutes into your review but i have to pause it because I have to go watch this fucking movie. Ya sold me on it, Nyx.
this video is sooooo cursed...
I LOVED IT ^-^
subscribed :3
This is really silly, but I listened to this in the car and when you broke into that Fleetwood Mac song at the end, I sung along and I daresay we harmonized pretty well. Thank you for the nice song number!
"shockingly genuine", "over-indulgent displays", "this is pathetic or either hilarious" is german film and television in a nutshell and it makes me patriotic
ich verstehe nicht was du meinst. Du meinst dass nekromantik ist ne Parodie von deutschem Fernsehen? btw, ich hab ein cooles hommage gefunden: ua-cam.com/video/QbLadAegtk8/v-deo.html
Congrats on 100K 🥳❤️
Dang this did not end up in my notifs at all. Ty for posting about it! I’d have missed it otherwise!
I had somehow in my brain that you already reviewed this one?! Idk why? (I know why. You are brave enough to face those messes).
Glad to see youtube finally tells me when you upload!
Your voice is so nice! ♡
If this title is a mindless self indulgence reference, then that is incredible blursed
Saw this at my local video rental and decided to add it to my selection of films for the week- the disc had "watch this someone you love" written on it. It sure was... something.
ua-cam.com/video/QbLadAegtk8/v-deo.html
then maybe that is for you
This was great! You sing beautifuly May🌹
ok I admit, I wouldn't normally stick around for patreon credits but I was swayed by your singing enough to listen through
I had a sleepover party when I was in my 20’s. We all gathered in my bed to watch Nekromantik and some zombie porn (Re-Penetrator, I believe) on my shitty Dell PC. It was hilarious and memorable.
Jeez, that sound's not only fun but utterly hilarious! If you've seen Nekromantik 2, you would have probably been friends with Monika xD . Btw, I found a film that's supposed to be like an hommage to buttgereit and other exploitation directors. Maybe you'll like it: ua-cam.com/video/QbLadAegtk8/v-deo.html
So I know you? I could swear I was there. 😂
I’m binging your videos while doing that shrine in tears of the kingdom where you kid robots with your car, and idk I thought you would appreciate it
I saw a good recap video for this movie, but Nyx explaining it has made knowing about it AWESOME! It's a hard watch, to be sure, but it's a very interesting story. People are... Something.
Nekromantik is a lot of fun to watch! I wouldn't suggest it to anyone! On a serious note, I felt bad for the bunny, but I assumed it was going to be killed anyway... Not being vegetarian, it felt kinda hypocritical to complain about the bunny, I dunno.
Ahm, I mean it's more ethical than the animals killed in Cannibal Holocaust for sure. if you like both of the films then you should watch this hommage to buttegerit: ua-cam.com/video/QbLadAegtk8/v-deo.html
For some reason I was thinking of this movie the other day. And now here I am
i love your font for these movies
I usually skip through long intros, but this one is a JAM
GIRL YOU HAVE A LUTE??? i am rewatching your old videos and that shook me
This movie was seriously disturbing.
Need someone in my life who looks at me like how May occasionally glances at that hand candle with growing concern
Your intro is so funky and perfect
THE MSI REF TEHEHHEHE⁉️💖
The theme of nekromantik is actually very nice. Like a whole lot nicer than I would have thought it would be regarding the subject.
Thank you for your service and thank you for repeatedly showing that picture of Jorg.
Yes! You’re finally talking about it. I’ve heard so much about necromantic and now it’s here!
if you like both then you should watch an hommage to buttegerit: ua-cam.com/video/QbLadAegtk8/v-deo.html
I will never watch this movie, but I love hearing you talk about it. Also you should see Kissed(1996). It’s actually really good and not enough people talk about it.
LOVE YOUR VIDS
Oh my God May your hair is IMMACULATE!!
Also, is Necromantik 3 going to be about May, Azzy, and Remington?
It’s been out for years it’s a comic
Remmy is living the dream honestly
‚I took him as a last gift from you‘ I would like to call you honorary German now. You are not the only person in the world, just the only non-Teutonic. Grüße aus der Hölle :D
Edit: this is the very first video of you I watched, have my sub :)
i think this is my favorite youtube channel??
Best cohost ever.
German 80s Horror was ALL over the place. Another less gruesome but still disturbing movie would be Laurin (German Hungarian co production)
totally going to use 'head zone' in casual conversation purely for my own amusement. so glad i lived long enough to see someone make a review of not just the one, but both Nekromantic movies. it amuses me that some ppl will see this and it will ruin their lives lmao
Bless you for watching movies like this so I don't have to 💖
