We have 2 of these, both had 12V battery problems, which were both replaced by dealerships. Mine also had a faulty heater matrix and was off the road for 4 wks waiting a part, which is now fixed.apart from that there great cars.
The B gear box setting does NOT enhance regen, it actually prevents it as it is for engine braking to stop use of friction brakes when battery is full, and regen no longer possible. I dont know why testers don't understand the B mode in all Toyota hybrids.
The problem with Toyota, at least in Australia, is lack of supply and poor attitude with dealers. We walked into the local large Toyota dealer to inspect and test drive a Yaris Cross and were met with "sorry, we don't have one, maybe in six weeks". Not to mention the many months wait after ordering during which specs and price may change. They are more interested in selling twin cab Hilux, RAV4, and larger SUVs. We ended up buying a Honda HR-V Hybrid; enthusiastic dealer, several on site for test drive, and delivery in one week. We believe that the Honda is superior to Yaris Cross. I don't understand why you didn't even mention it as a main competitor to the Toyota.
