    Great review but another reference to a belt driven transmission. Toyota haven’t used belts in ANY of their hybrid powertrains for years, they’re all gear driven now.

    I have watched all the reviews of this specific car on UA-cam and yours is thousand thousand times better than the rest!!
    Respect for you for putting so much effort into this video! You have therefor earned yourself a new subscriber and fan! 😊
    I hope you will continue to do the same way in the future with your detailed reviews!
    You have so much more knowledge about the details of the cars than the rest of the other "reviewers".
    I'm actually shocked. Keep up the good work please!

    B setting is NOT for regen - it's for maximising engine braking downhill
    The Toyota CVT does NOT have belts

    Toyota have so much experience in this type of vehicle !
    After a little research on what’s for sale ‘ I have found
    The Yaris cross hybrid Excel everything I could want in a self charging SUV !
    I haven’t found any other Hybrid with a more Impressive MPG Fact ‘. 🤷🏼‍♂️ 🇬🇧

    Your very detailed review, which reveals deep understanding of the car market and related engineering, puts the other reviews to shame. From the ugly trio who appear in the rehashed TV series, to channels here who are fronted by odd clown characters, dressed like chavs in torn trousers, trying to be funny! Thanks a million for an incredibly informed review!

    Belt drive? I would be happy to see a much shorter but basically accurate review. So misleading.

    Reduced MPG on more expensive models a nonsense … is this because of the tyres size? thanks

    I have the excel city car version 2020. You still don't get sat nav or height adjustable boot floor. I do have the later after a complaint to Toyota UK. My A pillars with speakers have developed an annoying rattle. The Toyota APP does not allow to send navigation guidance to the car from your phone because the app doesn't include the entertainment system which is in the 2020 model.
    I have driven Toyota for 10 years, but I am becoming increasingly disillusioned with their lack of cabin quality which is falling further behind the competition. You still only get One USB socket in the whole car. I like the fuel economy, but not the tyre wear.

    I thought the CVT used a chain and not a belt

    • @JMB1891
      @JMB1891 2 роки тому +5

      It uses a planetary gearset and chain, there are no belts.

    Neither the "standard" Yaris nor the Yaris Cross seem made for a family. When you see how limited the space in the rear seats is and how much (or better: little) the rear doors open, you wonder what the designers had in mind here. If I (with my 6 ft) had to sit behind myself, I poke my knees into the driver's seat.
    Try to install a child seat in a Yaris/Yaris Cross, let alone "fill" that seat... 😒
    Compare the space, especially in the back, to a Honda Jazz or Jazz Crosstar. They are 13.5 or 9 cm. shorter, 7 cm. narrower and have a 4 cm. shorter wheelbase. But... much more space and much more accessible! Take a look at this video from 23 min. 20 sec.: ua-cam.com/video/Z8GL1tLXv48/v-deo.html
    Unfortunately, you have about 85 liters of luggage space less in the Hondas (if you didn't know that a lot of junk fits in that empty space under the magic seats, for example a folding buggy...).
    Guess what's the better choice for a (small) family... the Toyota Yaris Cross, or maybe the Honda Jazz or Crosstar?

      @StayReal02 Місяць тому +1

      Yaris Cross for sure. The family also needs a car with food safety functions.
