Jonathan Majors Is 'Heartbroken' Over Losing Marvel Villain Role to Robert Downey Jr.

- Jonathan Majors is sharing his reaction to Robert Downey Jr. replacing him as the next main Avengers villain.
Majors, 34, made appearances as Kang the Conqueror in the Disney+ series Loki and 2023's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania as his character was poised to become the next primary nemesis in the Marvel Studios sequels. However, after the actor was found guilty of assault, the company dropped him from the franchise in December.
At the 2024 San Diego Comic Con on July 27, it was revealed that Downey, known for his MCU part as Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, would return to the franchise to play supervillain Doctor Doom, solidifying the next bad guy for the series.

Bro my heart sunk when Kang was cancelled I was personally excited for these movies bcs he’s pretty cool in both comics and movies. Jonathan majors played Kang exceptionally well also. 😭m sad to see him go

I watched the whole damn trial. She was the drunken attacker, not him.
Ezra kinda didn't in the end.
Majors didn't do anything. His girlfriend assaulted HIM. The worst he did after she waled on him was try to get her the hell away from him. He was convicted on a new style charge: manipulation by text. Really.
I watched a play by play of that trial.
It was sheer vengeance by an ex by metoo. She RAN INTO A WALL after he got away -witnessed!- and then locked herself dead drunk in his apartment.
His mistake was to rely on a defense by racism in the system, instead of disassembling her.
He didn't deserve dismissal, and cancelling Kang after we heard all that meant Disney was canning him no matter what the verdict.

In terms of Real Life, assaulting & physically harassing someone in Recent years is a bigger crime than drug-related incidents that happened 30yrs ago..
But in terms of Marvel: Kang is a Time Controlling villain! Despite not happening fully, Yet, right Now is simply not his *Time*

Johnathan should stay out of the spotlight for the heat to die down. RDJ went to jail in the 90s. Then, came to marvel in 2008. Bro almost had 20 years before getting that career changing role. Jonh cooukd wait 20 if he would like too. Also, DC is different than Marvel so it's not the same. The flash is a major character. Kang was a villain to come. At the end of the day the video wasnt the only thing that set him up for failure. The messages and text were the final nail.

Well I didn't like what happened to them in their personal lives as problems but I love Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, He Who Remains, Victor Timely, Immortus, Rama Tut, Scarlet Centurion and all its variants, Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man and Ezra Miller as Flash. And also as actors.

My opinion: Kang character was going no where. It's unfortunate he joined The MCU during the M-SHE-U era where the writing was vomit. However, instead of admitting their mistakes, Disney would rather use Majors personal situation as a scapegoat

They should add Kang to the Dr. Doom movie where both fight each other then things looking that Dr. Doom would lose, the true Dr. Door we going to see like the Iron Man version of Dr. Doom. Beat Kang to the ground. May not add to the plot but it be nice to see
Kang doesn't deserve to be remembered as the guy who got defeated by Doom. He's more than that.
Disney doesn't want to pay this man his 9 movie Dil paycheck he will be making more money if you do the calculations then Robert Downey Jr playing all of the iron Man and everything that's going on right now they do not want to pay that black man that big old check. Just like they were happy to Chadwick boseman was dead. And they still made a big fat check off of his name.
