In the film, Lang and Van Dyne and their family are transported to the Quantum Realm to face Kang the Conqueror (Majors).
People are mad that Kang lost to a bunch of ants. But honestly even Thanos would have a hard time fighting that much

Well, that's the beautiful thing about Kang in the comics. He is defeated a lot. In fact, it's almost comedic how often he loses. The scary thing is that he's not defined by his failure, and he can keep coming back stronger and stronger," Loveness argued. "It's not like you can just blow up the mothership, just beat him once and you're done. He is almost an existential threat, and the more you fight him the worse he's going to get."
Keep in mind that these ants, as explained by the movie, experienced time dilation (1000 years) which led them to evolve into type 2 civilization before the final confrontation against Kang. So no, they were no ordinary ants and Kang is just a human if stripped away from his tech.

And bear in mind, this is only Ant-Man's SECOND deadliest technique.
I remember ant man saying in Endgame when he was in the quantum realm that it only felt like five hours, but the world had passed five years. If they waited a few minutes before jumping back in, in Scott’s quantum time it would have only felt like nanoseconds and he barely would have taken a step. Right?
I laugh at people's comments saying that Kang is weak, but we must remember that the Ants that attacked him were not ordinary Ants, they were advanced and technological Ants with an THOUSANDS OF YEARS OF EVOLUTION, besides that Kang was not defeated by the ants, they only weakened him, and we must also remember that this Kang does not have his advanced technology, he only has the armor, because he is in the Quantum Realm, and to summon his technology he would need the ship, but as the ship is without the core he only has the suit, so his defeat for me was well justified.
Most people don’t understand kang bc he’s a multiversal threat and they don’t understand time travel they just wanna see fighting blood and the gore like you watch anime and wrestling for that like give me the story ppl don’t wanna sit through the story but it’s like when ppl don’t want story development they just want you to be powerful already but when they do give you the story development yall trash it just like yall did Cassie like she’s a child then also yall gotta remember bc of endgame she was older bc what happened in infinity war but ppl think thanos is worse than kang kang has variants across the multiverse which makes him the bigger threat thanos but if thanos didn’t have no glove then he would’ve gotten beaten by cap and Wanda by themselves but with kang he has variants across time plus he has the council of kangs so it’s finna be kang vs avengers vs his variants so y’all keep dogging this movie this shit was the best ant man movie ever
It's funny the guy is called Kang the Conquerer yet he loses to a misfit family of non-superpowered people, the same guy that in the comics beat most super-powered heroes.

Honestly I think the stakes would have been a lot more impactful if Scott and Hope got stuck in the Quantum Realm as a result of their sacrifice.

Kang may have planned for this to happen, it was a little odd he mentioned to antman he talks to ants just before ants come attack him since antman isn’t the one who talks and works with the ants really, kangs plan may have been to appear dead so that the council can come after the avengers and for him to get rid of them and any other threat
Kang had soo many chances to escape from that portal but cmon now running straight at it isn’t going to dodge a bullet
