Within one week I went from struggling against goblins to hunting dragons for fun. This game is just too good
On level 40 and still haven't killed a drake yet because every time I try to fight them they just launch this annoying nuke attack and it wipes everything 🤣
Where does the second vermund drake flee too? I am so fucking tired of traveling to him only for him to just leave 3minutes into the fight.
@@Code-Red424when you see them preparing to cast it just dash around it’s pretty easy to dodge dash sideways as well and not towards them because the meteors start behind them usually

I remembered how i fought my 1st dragon at level 24 as a warrior and end up soloing he’s last 2 bars of hp without my pawns

Actually a super informative video. Haven't seen a video yet with all the drake spawn locations in the normal world yet. Most have a good few of these missing.
Also for the unmoored world you don't have a time limit so long as you prioritize the beacons. Once you clear them you can stay as long as you want. Although after day 12 you can't rest anymore but you can stay as long as you want besides that.
Also there are new spawns for lesser dragons in the unmoored world. Lesser dragons being the ones with cysts on them like the one you first see in melve. That one being the only one before post game. Those same lesser dragons drop rare items too along with their normal wyvern crystal drops.

drakes sometimes drop crystals while fighting them. i think its similar to MH where you break parts. i often pick some up away from where they died
Use thief and hire two thief pawns with the pifer skill thank me later
Im a fighter vocation decked out in full black plate armour with the dragons faith shield. Got that drake slaying drip on lock.
The Dragon you encounter in Melve is part of a quest. He will fly off after a receive a certain amount of damage. But you can find him in the Dragonsbreath Tower for the second part of the vocation quest.
Or you shoot it 3 times fully charged with the ballista in Melve when he spawns the first time. Then you'll get the maister skill and the mid/lategame weapon early on because it automatically finishes the dragonbreath quest

I am on true ending but the dragon forge don't have the option for vocation improve buffs etc. Just the weapons and armors. Any tip?

Hoggly suggest using a thief with plunder. You get loads of extra crystals

Yes thief with plunder works wonder i got 2 to 3 extra when i the dragon is stun/down.
If you use really shitty daggers you can get more since you’ll be killing the drake slower but going to slow and the drake will fly away

If you are in late game or ng+, I recommend the magic archer maister skill. It’s op and takes all the guess work out of it. One shot and done.
Only downside is that you have to rest to regain the health lost. Ng+ needs to be changed to have mobs scale. Right now, ng+ is kind of a waste. Everything is still one shot.

@esawakita3043 I've heard that ending is more of a challenge. I went directly to ng+ though.
We really need the option to rest quicker at least on ng+ Even if you rest at an inn is still pretty slow and cost a good amount of gold. If you try with camping, most likely you will be ambushed right away. And there's '' the bench '' smashing 1 button as a maniac. 😁
Why is it that I noticed my magic archer build doesn’t do much damage at night do I need to equip a ring or something, it just doesn’t seem strong at night
It might not be as efficient but I hit up the 3 around Harve and just Martyrs Bolt them. There are Camps close by so I can reset my health after each kill. I've been getting 30-45 a run.
I might try this out that way I don't have to travel so much
Martyr's bolt is OP but I only have 1500 HP so I can't one shot drakes yet. Is there a way to have a higher amount of HP? My vocations are mage, sorcerer, trickster and Magick archer. Do I need to max the fighter/warrior vocations to have more health?
@@PIOVRAME Leveling Fighter and Warrior would help. Out side of rings (Ring of Acclamation, +200HP) and the HP augment, I don't think there is anything else. At 75 I have 1669HP, before augments and rings, with my mishmash of vocation levels. I'm dropping to almost 1 HP to do it tho, lol.
What about destroying the bodies? Does that speed it up at all? Hit a dead body wnought and it becomes a pile of organs, bones, and slime

Bridges respawn if you rest for a few days

Seems after you complete the mission “hearth is where the heart is” the one just outside of Harve village disappears

The dragon that's just outside of Harve village is such a 😺. I have never beaten that thing cuz it always runs as soon as it starts getting low, and it'll have the nerve to talk to me too lmao

Not sure if this is an Xbox issue or they updated it but when I tried hiring your pawn it doesn't work AND I have tried waiting, camping and sleeping in an inn for 14+ days save and quit restarted and all and the fucks never respawned; pain. I went from fearing these pricks to wanting to hunt them down for materials but now that I'm not actively avoiding them because I will shit scared, Now that I need them for their items and can kill them without breaking a sweat nor hide or hair of them anywhere fml

Tried several drakes at level 30 now. No chance, after 8 minutes absolute survivalistic wndboss fight they heal themselves up completely with one little healing spell these fookas. Well at least I've survived my escape everytime. Probably gonna try a drake at around level ~150 or higher
im level 70 Archer and I have no trouble with them. Level 150 would be overkill i presume.
Lvl 40 is enough to destroy any dragon
The drake in Harve keeps flying away from me when I'm kicking its ass..can anyone explain why? Same with the dragon near the Nameless Village...
Maybe you deal less dmg and take it too long , Use Mage pawn with ICE spells to slow them down ( Thief vocation with frozen daggers best for hunting drake) gl brother
sadly the dragons don't respawn by just resting, they kinda feel like they random, like one i killed just teleported in one sec its not there the next its there, after i killed it went to rest, then headed bk to check to see if i missed in any drops, its body was gone, so I'm guessing its a bug, i even went to see if the wondering dragon had respawned, know at least 3 in game months had past, but still no show, same for the one at the battlegrounds, at least in Skyrim the dragons were always on time XD, hopefully capcom gonna hotfix
some dragons respawn by every 2 weeks and some every week. also i have been able to consistently get them to respawn every time by ferrystoning to a different region, killing those dragons and then waiting for week or 2 and then ferrystoning back to another region and killing those dragons and then repeat.
Do I have to sleep 14 times on the bench at the inn necessarily? And then I see that you also sleep while paying at the innkeeper's or is it just my impression why then you skip the video? In any case, I see that you doze on the bench 14 times in a row but every time I stand up with the character, while yours remains standing. Is it just me or do I have a bug? My dragons don't respawn. I rested on the bench 28 times and then rested at the inn, backed out to main menu and loaded back in. Almost all the drakes respawned for me this way. I have done many map clears so far!
I was having this problem too, I just made sure I kept my fingers off of the joysticks and spam the doze off button otherwise your character wants to get up. Eventually you get used to the timing and don't have to spam it and you just tap it right on time
Or just rest at a bought house (like Vermund or Bahthal) for 7 to 14 times

@Rain1 though you're not wrong, I can personally confirm that I've spam slept at my house and all was well, besides if the plague happens, any important NPC will revive themselves after a few days. It's not as game breaking as people make it sound.

If you are a PC user using save manager mod, save first prior to fighting the drake. You can save scum until you get the desired drops. Apparently the drops get determine after the drake dies.
So I was hunting Drakes and all went fine I was having a blast, until all the suddenly every Dragon I fight flies away during combat and it happens at a random moment during the combat so I can’t decide/time when to clim on to them so I can keep fighting them and eventually killing them.
Am I doing something wrong or is this also happening to other players and if so, what do I need to do to fix this?
It’s happening to me to I have a theory if your doing too much damage to it and it gets back up it’s going to fly away
@@TrayGolden I went on Reddit and asked the same question there and what supposedly is happening is that I’m not doing enough knockdown damage to the Drake and therefor they don’t get staggered/knockdown often enough and takes off.

Archer with poison arrows is amazing for Drakes. If they start flying poison arrow makes them fall out of the sky. If they are casting a spell poison arrow staggers them and cancels the spell. Then just use Spiral Arrow on their heart and they die pretty quick.
Magick Archer with Sagittae Avalanche. Focus the Heart with it and the Drake's health bar will just _melt_ in seconds with repeated volleys.
I have problems respawning Drake's. I rest 14 days, reload... It is horrible. PS5 problem?

I think his pawn is on PC (haven't checked) which means you won't see it if on another platform. Feels kinda weird that pawns aren't crossplay.
Are you able to buy dragon forge weapons only in the unmoored world? Or can you buy them on new game plus

That one specifically likes to fly away. You have to kill it particularly quickly to not have that happen. The one by the nameless village also has done it to me. Unsure of the others as they haven't done that for me because ive killed them so quickly.
What do you do when a dragon or griffin flies away?
Use the silence mage skill to bring them down or ride them away! Tbh I’ve not had one leave before it died, usually takes around a minute or two to kill.

Poison arrow on Archer knocks drakes out of the sky and also cancels them casting spells. Not sure about Griffins as I usually just use tarring arrow into explosive arrow to torch them and they writhe on the ground and I kill them within a few seconds. Before I discovered the poison arrow thing they always flew away when they got to half health for me no matter how fast I would dps them.
Drakes keep flying away after 2 minutes of fighting such bs

If I remember right it comes from the Garms on the volcano island. I found some at the dragon near the camp
As long as it's for something your currently trying to upgrade just bring a pawn with the Forager specialization and highlight the crystal symbols on the map. Those are all current upgrade mats you need for your gear.
Pointed fangs will only appear from wargs, wargs don't respawn until endgame triggers, if you see any they are probably fighting something so tag the wargs for the drops but if not gl getting them before endgame

Dragons**** they are NOT Drakes. Drakes are WINGLESS dragon's. 4 legs and wings-dragon
2 legs and wings attached to front legs- Wyvern
4 legs NO wings- DRAKE

I don't think those are the best weapons, I had a 2h sword and sorc staff that were far better than the dragon crystal weapons. They were all available in my ng+ game at the vendors.
That is false. The weapons from the dragonforge have the highest base damage in game.
@Thotacus your missing out on dual damage types and higher knockdown on dragons flight over dragons bite. But you're right regarding the arch staves, I forgot my lion lord was upgraded a few times.
But let's be honest, after lv 45, everything is a pushover, and the base damage isn't the primary item anymore.
@@gearzdesign Not sure what you are referring to by dual damage types. Dragons flight is part of the endgame weaponry and it has lower damage but higher knockdown. Though I wouldn't say having slightly more knockdown makes it better.
Once you reach high enough level everything does get melted for the most part depending on your level and weapon but that doesn't change whats best or generally so.
Most the end game shop weapons aren't as close in terms of which is better compared to the WLC weapons. I think dragons flight is the only one I would be using over the WLC shops weapons simply because it is close enough but also does more damage to dragons.
@Thotacus it has slashing (sword/axe) and blunt damage (mace), hence dual damage types which will make it more potent vs various mobs who may be resistant to slashing damage.
When I was finishing up the game, I played warrior tank just to hold the dragons long enough to have them get 2 shot by my sorc pawns. I then went to ng+ and all the weapons and armor were at all the shops. I got tired of ng+ because it doesn't scale with your Character, so I started an entirely new game.
That is hella long as time to respawn 2 weeks. Holy crap🙄😒
