The fact the always pan is not for use in the oven is a huge deal breaker. So it’s really just a sometimes pan. 😂
Me too! I was like WTH?!? 😳 I’ll stick to my cast iron😁❤️
Whaaa ha ha ha! Love that!
IKR? I can use my cast iron pan anywhere on any heat, and it's non-stick too. I bake my cornbread in that sucker! Of course, it can't go into the dishwasher, but you really don't even have to wash it. Just wipe it out with a wet cloth and dry it well. Seriously, best $5 I ever spent at a thrift store.
🤣
I grabbed all of my mom's cast iron cookware after she died. Years later my siblings admire and question my dishes cooked in mom's cookware because everything cooks fast and evenly and tastes very good.
For $145, that thing better wash itself! 😂
Exactly!
Right!?! Lmao 🤣
Thats a FACT LMBO
They have sales where you can get both pots for that much and it practically does with how nonstick it is.
AND cook the food by itself LOLOL
I love how you have to be soooo gentle on how you care for the always pan (Ex: wash with special sponge, no oven, no dishwasher, etc) and then they decide to include a METAL steamer basket. Does anyone else see that this is a problem? Like heeelllloooo metaaaal! Really?! They couldn't give you a silicon basket or at least a metal basket with silicone legs (or something like that) so it doesn't scratch your $145 pan?
You’re right
I thought exactly the same thing. I call B.S.
I've always seen it advertised with bamboo steamer baskets... bougie
@@alexandria8349 Did you see the one with the actual creator of this thing? She was crowing about her creation.
@@alexandria8349 The bamboo (actually, Spruce) steamer is an additional $30 but sometimes they throw it in as a promo.
I stood in the freezing cold for my Aldi to open to get this pan. I bought 2 pans and $7 "Crocs" with fur lining. Successful Aldi trip 🤣
Only thing that would have made it better would have been to pickup a take and bake pizza.
im gonna have to go to aldi now. :)
I love Aldi’s! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
The fur crocs 😂😂😅
Got me too fam
There's literally nothing on this Earth that would ever make me pay $145 for ONE pan, especially one that has so many stipulations on how you can use it.
SAME
Like, a La Crueset that has a lifetime warranty and crazy high quality, I can see. I have my grandmother's. Worth the crazy price. But this thing? No way, jose.
There is 1 pan I would, if I had the money, because they are handmade by blacksmith artisans and are essential a steel and copper version of cast iron. Your grandchildren's grandchildren will still be using it.
@@jammielee5714 OR you can go to Costco when they are in (and better on sale) and buy the double set of LeCrueset knock offs. I was STUNNED at the quality. I got 2 really good size pots by Tramontina in a stunning gradient teal. I have cooked many times in it, and other than seeing the name and feeling special, I haven't seen a difference in quality or use. The double set was I think $69 bux!!! One or two posters (not many) online whined they chipped, but all put in oven at high temps and the dishwasher. These virtually wipe clean w/a paper towel (when looking caked/dried on), so why mess with the lifting in and out of the dishwasher?. They are as heavy as the original, so some warm, soapy water and they look brand new! They also come w/a warranty from the company, and Costco will usually take anything back within reason, so double warranty. Using it for Chicken Cacciatore tomorrow!! So I no longer think it's worth paying for a LeCrueset, unless you want some very unusual size
The other brands with nearly same cost you can get 6 pans, I rather have 6 than 1🤣
Thanks for taking one for the team once again. For 149 bucks Gordon Ramsey better come with it.
😂
Gordon Ramsey better come to my house to cook with it for that price!
It better be filled with Michelin star level food on arrival too
I'll take it if he does.
Worst looking scrambled eggs I've ever seen!
As a wedding gift, I gave my granddaughter the Always pan in "steam" (Joanna Gaines farmhouse neutral) As a promo, it came with an additional bamboo steamer basket. She owns a bakery business so I preached the "Thou Shalt Not Use In Oven" commandment. Then my nephew got a job as chef in an upscale ($$$$) resort so I got him one too, also with the bamboo steamer, in "heat" (red - gorgeous). It passed his tests so I thought OK, worth it. Now I see your Aldi comparison. Full Stop. The only way I can justify not seeing a therapist right now, is because I live 3+ hours from the nearest Aldi. (WTF AZ?!!!) And you know it when those $25 pans fly out of the stores, God only knows when the corporate overlords will restock. Great review, loved the commentary. But seriously, the hype over the Always pan is all about the lesson learned in the book, The Emperor's New Clothes.
Aldi is coming to AZ soon. Yay!!
I know it's been almost a year, but they restocked these pans! I got one at the East Mesa Signal Butte store a few days ago!
@Julie Graham lol I just found one today at my local store for $28.99
“Hey ! You can serve it in here ! Yeah no shit , I can serve it in here too!” Ha ha hilarious
😆
I'm a home cook but there is no way 1 pan can do it all. Cast iron for cooking steaks/fish (food you want to sear) Non stick for eggs / delicate stuff. Pot for boiling pasta / veg. You need a stainless or cast iron in your life just to put it in the oven. Every time I see that commercial, I'm thinking liar, liar, liar.
Pants on fire! 😉
I cook anything and everything in my cast iron! Third generation handed down.
Plus cast iron doubles as self defense !
I prefer to sear steaks in a stainless-steel pan, the crust comes out more even across the entire surface of the meat.
No better way to relax, unwind and have some good laughs after a long day!!! ☺❤
Vivian! In this video, you are the essence of how I feel about this commercial and product every time I see it! It feels annoying and stuck-up. I would spend $145 for a pan, like my lecruset, but it's lifetime cookwear, it can't go in the dishwasher but it does go in the oven and I can use metal.
Viv, you are the ultimate champion of looking out for us "regular" folks!! There's so many wannabe chefs that would love to put their pans in the oven to bake or broil just because! You can tell a real chef didn't design this because it isn't something that can be used for more things or in an OVEN!!! I love how you explained the differences and even had to restrain yourself (just a little) from being You. 😂😂 You are awesome Lady!!
Yes Vivian you can buy 6 Aldi pans for the price of one Always pan. So if your Lover acts up and you hit him upside the head with the Aldi pan it doesn't matter you still have 5 left. Great demonstration. Nailed it ALDI.
Lmao 😂
🤣
😂😂🤣🤣🤣😂
Don't waste a good pan on a bad man ! 😉
I just spent 71.00 dollars at the ALDI store. Omg!!! I don’t know what I bought!! I just got excited and put what I liked in the cart. 🤣 LMFAO🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 thank you Vivian
😂😂
My son said I buy myself a little secret presents at Aldi! if I complain about how much it cost. He says he can come out for $20 just buying the basics.
This is every trip for me.
@@rond.5377 lol🤣.
As a post-grad looking to upgrade from his $12 walmart Great Value pot set, I ALMOST fell for the Always Pan. The fragility of it gave me pause and I'm glad I did wait. There's an Aldi in town and I'm going to find this today! Thank you.
Price isn’t the problem for me. I work just to make bad financial decisions😂 It’s the delicateness for me😒😑 Thanks for the review!!!
Along w/ a great review, my laugh of the day was the "for that price, there better be a butler coming over to teach me how to use it!" haaaaaa! Loved it!
My favorite was, "I think they're trying to hypnotize you -- "It's cute. It's cute. It's cute."
Girl! You don’t know how many times I saw stuff at the stores and thought to myself, what would Vivian say! How many Vivian heads. 🤔
Bought a deep fryer from Aldi ten years ago for 19.99. still works great. I was looking for nonstick pan. A chef I know recommended Caphalon. Found a two pan deal at BB&B Caphalon 12 and 14 inch for 59.99. great pans, love them. Never would spend 156.00 on any pan, ridiculous.
Omg I love how she just tells everyone exactly what she is thinking!
Vivian KEEP those little black plastic clips that were on the pan so when you go to put it away you put them back on and turn your lid upside down and it won’t scratch the lid top side 🤗
I must be living under a rock. I've never heard of the Always Pan, and for someone who needs cookware to be bulletproof, I'm guessing it's not for me😁
I haven't heard of it either. But I do live under a rock.
I finally gave up on bulletproof cookware & went for plain cheap beat the crap out of it & dump it cooking set for only $20!!!
I figure if I need nonstick I'll just use oil. As for tossing them. Well I haven't broken them yet unlike the comparable nonstick.
Let's be honest, if it were a true ALWAYS PAN, all the hype would be heard outside if their 5 stars only on their website.. :(
@@Nirrrina As it so happens, I picked up stainless steel cookware set at a Macy's 7 years ago. It's their in house "Tools of the Trade" brand. I believe I might have paid $20, I can't remember exactly. The store was closing, so everything was priced to sell. I bought the set figuring I'd use it temporarily, till I could get around to buying nicer cookware. Nope, I'm still using it, 7 years later, with no desire to replace it! Sometimes, the most basic, least expensive stuff is the toughest and the best. No need to baby it, like the Always pan featured in this video.
Just saw the ad for it 20 mins ago and it just looks ugly to me and I have enough ugly pans.
I've never heard of it either. If it's not cast iron...why bother.
Aldi does it for me, hands down. The marketing ploys they use on consumers is hysterical...mostly because so many people fall for the hype. Thanks, going to go to my local Aldi store to see if they still have this pan. Thanks so much, girl!
I got a whole pot/pan set at sam’s and for a huge set with all kinds of sizes, pour spouts, lids. Ect it was less than that ONE pan. I would NEVER pay that price for one worthless pan and mine came with a warranty too! I get compliments from the whole fam when they come up on my set!
It's called the always pan, because you always have to remember what NOT to do with it.
🤦🏼♀️
Sorry... a spatula and a steam basket doesn't justify the incredible price difference.
🤷🏼♀️
But, add that butler to cook stuff FOR you... and... maybe.
🤣🤣
ALWAYS pan because you're always reminded you were gullible enough to pay $145 for one pan.
😂😂😂
@@Birdbike719 🤣🤣🤣

Cooks & chefs do cooking detail where a butler manages a household.
Vivian is a REAL one! I’d had my eye on the Always pan!? All of those RESTRICTIONS!? The audacity!! 😩 Ty doll! lol
I love her devilish satisfying laugh every time she's proving flaws on the. things made for stupid rich people
I was wondering about this pan when I saw it at Aldi. Totally would buy the Aldi pan now that I saw this. Thanks Vivian💕
We just got a cast iron pan from aldi on clearance for $9.99! It’s phenomenal and coated in enamel on the exterior! I knew there was no chance I’d find one of those - the aldi shoppers around here are cut throat.
OH MY GOD! I wish I'd seen that at my Aldi's. I just wrote a very long comment about how much I love my 20-year-old cast iron pan and asked why anyone would want either the Always Pan or the Aldi knockoff when you cannot do this, that and the other with it.
I bought those same cast-iron/ enemal pans from Aldi in Dec. Super cute navy blue
Yep, I bought it too!! 🥰🥰
In Louisiana when you get married every Mom gives their daughter a 14" cast Iron skillet. It does everything you need, goes in the oven, non-stick and will last your ENTIRE LIFE.
OMG!!! I thought it might be just my Aldi's. Try getting in there on Sunday morning's, the women have evil in their eyes and when you walk up to the doors they take tiny shuffling steps to block you out. They even come with the lg. IKEA bag. They will knock you down for a candle.
You can do all types of cooking with a good cast iron pan and much cheaper than $145.
Yes 👍
About 10 years ago I found an All Clad D3 pan at Goodwill and that pan is still rocking to this day and we will possibly pass it on to one of my kids. Save the money on cute gimmicks and spend it on professional grade utensils.
Love my all clad and le.cruset cookware. They will last my life and my children's. Also buy good quality knives not junk. We have professional chef store that sells knives. You can get some good quality knives used that cab be reconditioned that will last your life and your kids.
All clad is good for eggs?
@@ccMomOfJays yes. Stainless can be seasoned and can be just as good to cook eggs as Teflon pans
I just got home from a torturous double shift.. there's NO better way to conclude my night than Vivian+a glass of wine 🖤
You were more than fair on your comparison. I could buy 6 Aldi pans, keep 1 and gift 5 for almost the same money as the expensive pan. Guess which one I will buy? I already have a pan with a steamer basket and I have never used the basket. I use my steamer. Tfs!
I never use my steamer pan either. If it hadn't been free, I wouldn't even have one.
Also if you put the steamer tray into the Always Pan, it scratches the inside surface so what’s the point 😭😭
When you put the spoon on the outside of the pan and said your going to start cussing...I busted out laughing 😅🤣😂
The closed captions translated “start cussing” into “monster cousin”.
I wasn’t able to get to Aldi the morning these pans came out. I went the next morning and the first store sold out of 5 pallets. I drive to the next Aldi and they had 2 left. I was jumping for joy like a 5 year old on Christmas morning!
This was a great demo. Thanks for doing it…🥳
Love love love your videos, especially the Aldi ones!! I’m obsessed with Aldi AOS and all of their products! Thank you!
Thanks for spending the $156 so we don’t have to. I’m going to Aldi. 😊
omggg that always pan really sucks, theyre ripping people off wow, thanks for this video Vivian!
Vivian you crack me up I love your commentary keep up the great work girl!
I love this woman!! Her honesty and comedy is most excellent!!! Binge watching!!
Man, when I grow up, I wanna be Vivian. Lol. She’s hands down the best reviewer. And I used to do reviews. Lol. She’s amazing! 💟
Thanks for saving my money! I won't be getting either. I recently bought a 10 piece Granitestone space-saving set at Sam's. GAME CHANGER for me bc they are dishwasher safe, metal utensil safe and oven safe. Got the set for $100. If it can't go in the dishwasher I don't want it.
..Those granite pans are great….love mine .
I didn't mind that it doesn't go in the dishwasher because it literally comes clean with a soapy rag and dries in seconds. I don't need to take up space in the dishwasher for something so easily cleaned.
I don't have a dishwasher but I would prefer to handwash cookware anyway to be on the safe side. I don't mind that chore.
I loved the hand up "CALM DOWN"
That was great, I liked how you did the comparison between the two pans.
You can get a pan steamer basket on amazing for $9 so yeah
Rachel Ray has been selling cooking utensils with pan holder clip things for years. I bought a 3 piece set (cooking spoon, flipper thing & slotted thing for about $25) about 4 years ago.
She makes the worst Mexican food 🤮 she needs to apologize to the Mexican community
@@lapinchechismosa
It's so true. My granny used say she doesn't cook she just messes in the kitchen
I bought a RR full set of pans and they lasted less than a year. They warped, scratched easily and the finish faded. I ended up throwing them all away. What a waste!

You're killing me here, Vivian!! I need more videos!!! More videos and longer one!!! Pleeeeeeeaaassse!!!!

I need more videos!! ❤❤🇨🇱🇨🇱
When you cursed and said, "Let me calm down"!😆😆 V getting "heated" up there🤣
We just got back from Aldi and this pan was nowhere to be found!! SO happy to have seen your review! Thank you!!
That's it! I'm going to Aldi's for my next frying pan!
Happy New Year Vivian and thanks for the review.
You are a whole wonderful vibe that I am loving! Thank you for this, I almost bought the Always Pan set this morning and I would have been disappointed after this to know that Aldi has the pan for a fraction of the price, and I LOVE Aldi. Get it girl! Subscribed!
Just discovered this lady. She tells it like it is. Great review. Thank you!
I love your reviews and I'm so glad you reviewed these! Love Aldi products! ❤️🌹
I love watching her. She is a hoot!
She really is, since watching her I do the 1 2 3 go lol
My favorite thing about this video is watching the emotional rollercoaster that was your feelings re: the spatula feature 😄
😁
Love hearing her reviews on things I don't want. She's so funny
Love your videos, don't have Aldi where I live, but fun watching you break down the as seen on tv products.
Thank you for reviewing this pan!! I was eyeballing it and now I know I’m going to get it!!! Thank you!
For 149.00 plus tax that pan better tuck me in at night and sing me a lullaby and fix me coffee in the morning.Gurl I just say no to fancy schmancy and" hello lover💝"to my Aldi equivalents😘
You crack me up every time Vivian. I’ve been ill for a few weeks and I haven’t been able to watch you and I’m so glad I caught you on an Aldi‘s comparison of pans because I happen at Christmas time to be there when they were selling a similar casserole set for $29 knock off to the Very Expensive Le Cresuet Casserole & pan sets which sell between $150-$300 or more… like the one you just showed, it came in three or four colors and I was thrilled to death because I was not going to fork out that kind of money for an oval casserole dish cooking pan that I wasn’t going to use all that much. We have become such a “status symbol society “from everything to our clothing and shoes right down to our socks in our purses our make up and now it’s our kitchen ware and everything and I just think stop to madness and share that money with people in need and I don’t care whether you’re helping people or children with medical issues or The homeless or helping build a new home for somebody who needs help I don’t care it just seems to me that we’re so caught up on labels and I thank you Vivian, for doing this comparison because I truly love the Oval cooking knock off I purchased At Aldi’s in December. If you’re only shopping the food isles at Aldi’s, you’re missing out on all the best deals FYI.
Keep up the great work Vivian and thank you for keeping me laughing. You crack me up and I’m with you if you’re going to charge me so much money you better send me a butler or a chef for more than a day and one meal….(may be a maid, too, to clean up afterwards❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️)
I GIVE YOU 5 VIVIAN ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Great way to start my weekend!
Any pan that you buy has to be primed with oil before using. Otherwise, you WILL get some sticking. I would say the Aldi pan was a bit cleaner after the eggs. I really need to find an Aldi's.
Not trying to be rude, honestly curious. How do you prime it if you cant put it in the oven or use anything over medium low temperature?
I bought a French oven from aldi for under $20 three years ago and I used it every single day since you can put it in the oven, boil pasta, bake in it, fry in it etc etc!! I upgraded to le creuset this year since I loved the French oven so much. I am so impressed with aldi cookware quality!!!!
Girl, I just found you and I love your personality and your review. Thank you 🙃
I got there right at store opening and was second in line for the ALDI pan and bought 2 so I could give one to my kid. Likely all would be gone by noon. I used a light coating of coconut oil before frying an egg with my induction hot plate, came out perfect. If one takes good care of the pan the dishwasher ban should be no problem as a quick rinse under water (let pan cool first) and wipe with a towel should suffice. Although properly seasoned cast iron is great on gas or electric it is not so great on induction for some uses as it holds the heat too well and is less responsive to changing the heat setting.
Been wanting the Always pan, but could not justify the price. Was able to nab the black one, SCORE @ Aldi! Thanks, Aldi!!! Also, thanks for the review. Awesome job!
A nice detailed, witty and fun explanation and demonstration.👏
As always, thank you for doing the hard work.
I have been suspicious of all of the recent 'buzz' around the 'always pan', and your investigation clarified why I was doubtful.
Again, thank you.
Love your videos, Vivian ❤️
you can never go wrong when you shop at aldi!!!!
Excellent review. I appreciate it much. Thanks for sharing, Vivian. 😊
Vivian we can just diy this notch thingy. Drill a hole in our wooden utensil and E600 glue from dollar tree to glue the bump on the handle. Done ND done... Aldi's for the win!
“Never, never, never, never, never..”
They forgot to say “Never feed it after midnight”, hahaha.
The Aldi Awesome Pan is amazing.
At my Aldi, there was a limit of one-per customer per visit, which seems nice and probably the only reason I was able to get one.
Aldi insider (not me) did tell us that they’re going to have it again around Easter, and hope to have it in two-additional colours.
The blue is lovely. It may just be my screen, but the colour irl looks more a Tiffany blue than the baby blue it looks here.
I just found your channel, Viv, watched this video, and hit “subscribe” fast-as possible.
I have a feeling you’re going to be fun!
I just subscribed to your channel. I am impressed and obsessed. I love your informative and honest review of this product. I love your "Snarkyness" even more. 😊
Looking forward to more content from you. I'm going to watch your other videos and catch up on the ones I missed. Thank you!
Excellent presentation! So happy I found you!
If you’re going to splurge on an expensive pot/pan, buy Le Creuset! Hands down amazing, but very heavy!
Awesome review. There's absolutely no way I'd pay 145 for a pan. There's no justifying that. It's all hype.
Yes.. there's another word for it. It's called marketing.
Oh my you are entertaining. Lol! Love your sarcasm. Very informative video. Hoping you’ve done one on the aldi eyeshadows and mini sewing machine.
Love your review!! Honest and to the point!!
Is it just me or is it weird that you can't use metal utensils in it but you can put a metal steam basket it? Really?🤷♀️
You coulda wiped Aldi out buying the 6 pans they had, and you still would of paid less than the Always, but not now, pan
“Always, but not now” 😂
This review just saved tons of people lots of money! Thank you.
So I just got one of the pans today. BUT I must say I have watched this video so many times just for the comedy and sarcasm. You are a friend in my head! 😂
I'll stick with cast iron, thank you. Enameled or not, holds heat well, and goes in the oven. Basically indestructible.
I want the Aldi pan and I want to go to Aldi….we don’t have them here in Colorado 😭 I was checking out reviews here on UA-cam and someone was sending theirs back and you have to make sure you package it the same way you got it. Like they even have rules for that 😆
…”I’m a start cussin’…” 😂 haha, this review made my night.
Just got my Aldi pan in matte black. ❤❤❤❤❤. I use it every day and it gets 5/5 stars. Thanks!
Dang, I fell for the hype and bought an always pan and it's just alright. If I could go back in time I wouldn't buy it, especially now with dupes coming out! Although sadly, I do not have an Aldi anywhere near me.
**Do Not Put in the Dishwasher**
First video I watched of you and immediately subscribed omggg you are hilarious and so straightforward I love it
I had no idea who you were until I saw this video pop up. Your sense of humor kept me watching. It’s awesome to see someone rag on this pan only because they pushed this darn thing HARD and then I saw everybody had one (eye roll). Now I am even more glad you did this review. $145?!?!? I can’t believe anybody would spend that on one pan!
“My husband ain’t gonna remember all these rules!” Truer words have never been spoken. Mine ruined my nice aluminum cookie sheets by sticking them in the dishwasher. 😐
You can get one of those silicone folding/expandable steamer baskets for under $10 on Amazon.
But honestly other than the cool touch handle this pan seems no different to me than my well seasoned and well loved deep cast iron skillet. I'd rather keep using it. And mine has a cool touch handle in the form of a silicon handle cover I bought years ago (2pk for $7 on Amazon) and bonus my cast iron can go in the oven and do pretty much everything the always pan can do except be induction stove compatible. Which I don't care about because I cook with gas. And my pan was my great grandma's and I can pass it on to the next generation too. As delicate as the always pan is I can't see it lasting 5+ generations. I've seen a pan just like mine on Cabelas for $30.
Im running to Aldi's in the morning!!!!!!!!! Thanks Viv!
I was blessed to get my great grandmother 👵🏾 cast soup pan and my poppy cast iron frying pan and I cook everything in them and love them.
I had no clue what the Always pan was and just needed a new pan. I picked mine up the day they released, and also was wondering why there were only like 8 on the shelf. After watching this I am glad I scored 2 of these! I used it for the first time tonight and it was SO nice!
I saw this at Aldi and immediately said I don't need another pan. I don't know why the Always Pan ads were so so tempting for me lol. Freaking ads!!!
To be clear I won and didn't actually buy the Always Pan
You put a smile on my face. When you said I am going to give it 5 Vivian Heads I laughed so hard that my stomach hurt. You need to get Vivian Bobble Heads !!!!!
