My dad fixed Moody Blues broken down van in the early 70's ...they gave him this album signed by all of them... must have listened to it a thousand times since I was seven years old
Dinah Darling - Oh my gosh! That album, signed by all the band members! What a treasure! Surely, one of your most prized possessions? Please tell me you still have it! I've been listening to it too since I've been a little kid, and I never tire of it. Every song on this album is so good, and that opening... wow... that has been burned into my memory. Certainly one of my favorite records of all time.
In an age where we are questioning consciousness more than ever, the words to In The Beginning are more profound to me that when I was a fourteen year old listening to this. Brilliant for these young men at the time to create this! Love to The Moody's and their fans!
I still have my very scratched up lp of this - i loved them from childhood and fully aware of the depth of the words and meanings have grown with life experiences since too - magic
I kept writing the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame of why they haven't put Moody Blues at their top of list and then they finally inducted the Moody Blues.. long overdue
In the 90s I worked for a small local music magazine in Vegas, I got to take pics of Moody Blues up front, I still have these pics, also did quite a few other bands, which I won't elaborate on, good Xs
No one really compares to this band oh there’s plenty of great bands but the creative force in their thought provoking songs is a legacy for all humanity. ❤️

The Moody Blues and the Floyd, with Yes were the Go-to bands for mental excursions @ parties and just being with like minded travellers back in the late 60-1970`s.Now Ihave added Porcupine Tree/S Wison to that list.@70 can do as I please.
Listening to this, I can't help but think that the world has lost a great flute player in Ray Thomas. Rest in Peace, Ray. You brought a lot of joy to a lot of listeners.
Although, the flutist that Justin Hayward and the guys(those who are left), are now using is good. She just doesn't compare to Ray Thomas. I was fortunate to have seen him in concert in Saratoga Springs, NY. And I have to believe that he is finally relaxing in Heaven, but still playing, but this time for God! Rest In Peace, Ray Thomas. You can tell that he put his whole heart into the songs that he played!
Their music creates a mystical childlike euphoria inside me...I recall all of the good memories from childhood and adolescent years.. I feel warmth listening to the moody blues...and safe
Thank you, Albion (Great Britain) for your leading contribution to The Rock Revolution. ...No other has given so much to humanity and brought the people closer to each other. Moody Blues is a Great example!
I am new among the Moody Blues fans, but, wow, this is incredible! Great we have LPs and CDs. Bands come and go, people die, but great art stays. It is up to us to preserve it for next generations.
My sister and I just saw Justin in concert and he sounded amazing…now I’m 60 and my sister 53 so it’s not like we grew up with this music but it’s truly a masterpiece of a band, the Moody Blues ❤
Inspiration, explorers of effects and colors of sound. What an ensemble of poetry, voices, choirs, portraits of a time. Extraordinary band. True musicians creating true and eternal music.
This was the 2nd album I purchased. I was in High School and bought it the week it came out. My first album purchased was Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix. I was not just another farm girl.
I was in high school from 68-72 and had an older brother who turned me on to all the great lp's from this amazing group. One of the all time great bands for sure!!!
Was in hs also from 68-72. Lived in a rural area where the FM signal just didn't quite reach. Had only heard " Nights in White Satin" in '71 before I went to college in fall '72. Got exposed to the "Core 7" there. The rest is history.
"On the Threshold of a Dream" is an incredible album. Many of the songs are classics. 69-72 for me. Such an under appreciated band. "Dear Diary" is one of my favorites, off of it. . . . . Inside me, yours truly, Dear Diary. . . . .
So far ahead of their time..The lyrics..the musical talent..the vocals..if you can’t appreciate the Moodies then we’ll.. i truly feel for ya..seen em three times and just the best. Ty
I am a Moddy Blues junkie. I have been fortunate enough to see them in concert several times. They still can crank out a great concert, but I really miss Ray.
I am happy I had the opportunity to see these guys three times in my life. Could never figure out how they didn't hold the same popularity as Pink Floyd etc.
From what I read, I don't believe they wanted the kind of popularity that broke the Beatles. They wanted to be able to live their lives AND create great music.
From 67-72 they were more popular than Pink Floyd. Sold more albums had bigger tours. They took a 5 year hiatus, and Pink Floyd simply exploded with some all time great music. They were never the same after Mike Pinder left the group.
My very first concert, what a great begining! It was at the Chicago Stadium and I was 17, I caught a punch meant for my date and went home with a black eye. What a memory!
It doesn't get any better than that. Mike Pinder, Justin Hayward, John Lodge, Ray Thomas (May he rest in peace), Graeme Edge, God bless the Moody Blues!
Thank You So Very Much!!! I,m in my 60s and it is so awesome to hear moody blues again!! It reawakens the beauty that has been buried from this life!! I feel alive again!!
This s so amazing what the next life can be like just too be reborn back the earth hell I want Jesus Christ 🙏 thank you our fathers mothers in heavenly places 💞
This was a fantastic album first time I heard it was back in 1972 and was doing acid Wow I floated on this album. And it is fantastic even when you're not High 😅
People couldn't sit still for music like this. I was star struck by them ELP Yes. On and on and on. Never again will a generation experience such icons as these the beatles the stones. Lucky man. Edit. How could i forget the Pink?
Best concert ever. A hot summer night in West Palm Beach, FL. The surreal experience surpassed any other performance I have ever seen, and that is many. Truly Legendary and relevant to this day!
Wonderful day, passing my way, knock on my door, even the score with your eyes. Lovely to see you again my friend! Walk along with me to the next bend.
I love what Jay Sands had to say..."the Moody Blues have been my religion....". Well, I feel that way, too. I've been listening for more than 50 years and they still evoke such beauty and spirituality in their songs/albums with their gorgeous lyrics, beautiful vocals and superb musicianship. They make my soul soar. I will love them forever.
Cut my teeth on this music. My dad's music. I'm 52! Love the flute like Jethro Tull! Still alive today, because he didn't know we played his records!!! They were a band before their time!
Their music is so inspirational, back then, and currently in today's craziness! Got to see them in Saint Louis at two concerts at the old Saint Louis Arena (where the Blues did their hockey games) 1970, & 1971? Anyway, never got mixed up into a bad crowd, nor hard drugs, nor heavy drinking. Whew! Was lucky as hell! Survived all of those times. Loved them then, and still love them to this day.
What a small world. I saw them there also. Just amazing. Trapeze opened for them the first time and were great as well. Charlie Star opened the second time and had the whole crowd singing "Jump down, turn around, pick a bale of cotton" along with him. The definition of surrealism.
awesome video..the moody blues have been my religion for so many years they have helped me survive so many trials and tribulations...their spirituality surpasses any sermon from any preacher...ever!...thanks for taking the time for this video..great job.
I still listen to it in 2020 and it's still amazing. It's timeless! Sorry, but I cracked up at the misinterpretation of "Who ordered that?" The original lyrics are "I'm more than that." Followed by, "I know I am. At least, I think I must be." I wish they would remix the entire album and bring the bass and high-end to where they are by today's standards. I know it's impossible, but I can still wish for it.
Justin once said that "we weren't for everybody". That was probably a polite way of saying that not everybody is at a higher level of awareness to understand where they were coming from.

@@micheltremblaywebcellance9438 dang. I'm. 69 and. I love. This just love it 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶😍🥰
Yeah, at 75 still listen to most all their masterpieces
Their music and lyrics are mystical.. They opened doors of perception.
Beautifully said!
Try them with a little LSD or Mescaline about midnight.
If you don't have this album ,your collection is not complete.
So true
Absolutely awesome story man. Your dad will never forget that as long as he lives. And if you still got it that's a great momento to hang on too
I was turned on to the Moody Blues by my girl friend in 1971. Love them still today
The talent level in this band is simply incredible.
They all had PhDs in music - very talented.
Justin Hayward and John Lodge we key members as is evidenced by their later collaboration as the Blue Jays. All were talented.
When the songs on your 50 year old album are still cutting edge you are one of the best.
Ex-actly right!
Amen....

My 2 cents worth: CONGRATULATIONS MOODY BLUES FOR MAKING THE BEST STONER, TRIPPING VIDEO I HAVE EVER SEEN!! BRAVO!!
In an age where we are questioning consciousness more than ever, the words to In The Beginning are more profound to me that when I was a fourteen year old listening to this. Brilliant for these young men at the time to create this! Love to The Moody's and their fans!
They are so appropriate to all the government control, etc!
The whole band writes incredible lyrics - not to mention the music....... 55 years on, this the only band I never get tired of.
Well said..m.s.
Perfectly stated!!!!!
Face piles of trials with smiles, I still remember that from 40 years ago!
The decades may have passed but this music still has no equal !!!
Indeed
Amen...
there is nothing today that even comes close!
But Joan Jett gets in the R&R HOF ahead of them?
Timeless!!
still amazing after 50+ years!!!
I just saw John Lodge last month and he was awesome. So glad he is keeping Moody Blues' songs alive

The worlds smallest symphony band!
Nothing short of Astounding and Amazing
Photographed them in early 80s for a music magazine, was a highlight in my concert experience,

Pink Floyd came close with Dark Side of the Moon.
Timely...
Queen is up there, too.
They're mor tailor made for 🇺🇸
Saw the Moodies way back in the day..such a trip man...so good
Amazing piece of music so far ahead of its’ time. This band is one of the best.
Without Question!!!!!
Yes they are!
I'm blown away where have I been
Not ahead of its time -- there for all time.
How can 95 people not like this?
Threshold of a dream ....... early teens lay down dark room and enjoy.
No drugs needed and never used.
Deep sleep.
They have never heard good music, just head banging and sexual lyrics
