you and me both!!! I’m 71 as well and grew up listening to the Moody Blues. They are still SO amazing! We are so lucky to have grown up with this kind of music.
Bill, oh yes. Thank you. There was such richness within so much of the music out of the 60's and 70's for me . . . and the Moody Blues always, always rose to the surface. They tapped into something "otherworldly", that no other did. I can grieve at times, for those other times of that lovely, young self. "Tuesday Afternoon" literally called to the deepest part of me, to a part of my nature that has never dimmed. But more now (at 67), I feel that I am not apart from that time, that it is not so much something gone, but rather an enrichment on the journey of where I find myself here, today. An earlier chapter of the same life story, yet unfolding. To have lived those decades young was a gift, and for that I am grateful. Be well.

I'm 70, which means I've had the privilege of enjoying The Moody Blues for about 56 years! I bought the album Days of Future Passed during the summer of 1968 and was blown away by the music. My mom was thrilled that I was listening to such wonderful music! I wish I could say the same about her reaction less than a year later when I bought Led Zeppelin 1. Man, how blessed to have been born when I was in 1954!

Made me cry so much. My husband, also born in 1954 loved the Moody Blues. He played their music a lot when first met, 50 years ago. He died suddenly this year, 4 months ago, just after his 70th birthday. I am distraught. I miss him so so much.
Music with lyrics that mean something, true feelings about events that might happen in people's lives, one of the greatest storytelling and poetic groups ever
My dad passed away yesterday, The Moodies were his favorite band before I was a child and all through growing up. He was passionate about this band and their music even though I was trending in contemporary hard rock n metal at the time. But the time I hit my late 20s I was physically and emotionally far from him and thought "Well, I know what can connect us, let me try again to find out what was to love and why". The connection was immediate and soon they topped my playlists over some rather obscure acts known as the The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. These blokes not only had musicianship and arrangements perfect for orchestral rock. the drenched melodies and lyrical depth for lasting aplomb. I will always love you forever, Dad!
Ray, Graeme, Pender, Denny and my Big Brother who introduced me to the Moody Blues. I will be turning 63 on my next birthday. I have lost so many loved ones, I'm hoping to be called home soon. I miss them all, but most especially my Big Brother who passed away a couple of years ago at 63 years of age. 63 is a good age to go meet our Maker, but it is all in God's Timing.
R.I.P. Ray Thomas 1941-2018. You are missed. Such a great parting flute solo at the end. This song is just MAGNIFICENT -- no other word can describe it.
Ray Thomas tinha a força na comunicação oral, uma voz incrível, tinha a sabedoria na música, cantava com a alma, era muito família e fazia as coisas por amor. A música era o seu alimento, o sol para a sua vida
Life is strange. It seemed like just yesterday that I entered my adult journey at age 18 in 1973 in the Army basic training. Now I am 65 years old looking back on the many turns and dead ends I have found. I am truly blessed and thankful fir all of the memories. The Moody Blues and three other groups have led the way for me. Thanks. I hate to paraphrase someone else's song but it fits in my life: Its been a long and winding road! Hold tight those that you love!
I once had the privilege of spending a few hours with Ray Thomas over a couple of pints in a quiet pub near where I live in Wales. What a lovely gentle man he was.
I remember the MB back in the day like it was yesterday. They take me away to a place and time right down to the day. Every song. They are masters and will never be forgotten. They made history. I was so fortunate to have lived in their time.
Typical Moody Blues song. Timeless. What a unique sound. All their music hits me in a way no other music does. 70 years old and been a keen listener of their music since the late 60s!
R.I.R. Graeme! You where part of the most magical and incredible band. From any generation! Music can go in so many different directions. The Moody Blues gave us Love, Hope & Peace. Thank You!
My son was brought up to the Moodies, he's now 40. My wife and I with my brother and his wife went backstage in Peoria, Il. in '83, wife was just pregnant with my son. Great time, guys were very nice, miss those times, 74 now.

Undoubtedly the most beautiful lyrics the Moody Blues ever composed. John Lodge was light years ahead of his time. Isn’t life strange and we do live in the quick sand of time!
One of the reasons of success for the Moody Blues is the writers' ability to make the listener believe in their shared empathy. We have all felt the things they sing about but they sing it as if it is directed to us, secretly and alone.
+Cindy Afgreyparrot Sorry, Cindy. Oddly enough, I am playing this broken hearted over a former lover who passed away last week. It is a stark reminder to not take anyone for granted because we ultimately share the same destiny.
I've seen the Moody Blues 26 times. My frist show was 1974. I born in 1960. They were such fabulous sounding show all the up till Gream died. I've even seen Justin and Johns solo tours. I'll always love this band till I die.
Its literally every performance. Justin and Edge are complete perfectionist. I remember in 89 Justin said sorry to me for singing 1 word wrong in in a 5 hour set. They are fracking heroes!
Does it get any better? The power and beauty of this music has not lessened over the many years. The sweetness of the universe's love is so uniquely expressed in the music of the Moody Blues. My heart grows with every note and phrase....
For me it all started back in the sixties with Go Now, here I am now seventy years old and still love listening to them. Lucky enough to see them a few times, fist time 1968
My favorite song ever. Was played at my wedding, as I walked down the aisle; and will be played at my funeral. (It's in my Will). Peace, Love & Moody Blues Forever! xoxo
The quicksand of time devours us all...but one cannot allow oneself to live in the past. This will only cloud the future. As Georgie Harrison wisely said, (in response to question posed to him concerning his fear of death after being diagnosed with a brain tumor), "I don't fear death... I believe it is only leaving one car and getting into another." THANKYOU Georgie, Many thanks 🙏 M/B. All of your music will live on forever❗️🕊. kundalinikarta@gmail.com. I'm a 68 year young VETERAN COSMIC ROCKER WHO WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU🌎❤️
I have listened to this group for 50+ years and many of your songs have helped me to get through some real tough times. Always tops with me and songs are so relevant and strong even today.
This is so beautiful. The song on its own is superb but with the added orchestra, it is so very magnificent. I miss The Moody Blues, especially Justin Hayward. They gave us some of the most romantic rock music that ever was. I was fortunate to see them in the early 80’s and it was truly a spectacular show. The got better with age.
I saw them in Southern California on December 14th 2014. That was the day that evil visited Sandy Hook Elementary School and all those little Angels were murdered. Later that evening and in the middle of the concert, Justin Hayward asked us to pause and say a Prayer for the children who lost their lives earlier that day. In the silence my favorite musical group of all time played this song. When it ended you could hear a PIN DROP. I couldn't see for the tears. May God Bless The Moody Blues.
Oh my gosh William.....age now 74, the Moodies and I are from the same time, and just looking back, with tears of nostalgia for my beautiful wife, taken from me on 3rd July 2001, I am now in pieces from your own post.... I just don't know what else to say...sorry...xx
Hey William, touching stuff, really. I am not too knowledgeable on the Moody Blues, but their music is deep and thought-provoking enough to have likely brought some peace during a tumultuous moment of time. Also, I believe Sandy Hook was in 2012 rather than in 2014
I lost my wife in 2014, my Mom the year before. Now I'm all that's left, the book closes when I'm gone, but within that "book" many years of listening to the Moodies, and I thank them one and all for what they've given us...
Listening to this in 2021...I turn 70 the end of the year...time passages....and to think that Ray Thomas would have turned 80 the end of this year....Rest In Peace Ray....You were Great and still missed....So Glad I saw them perform before he passed...Truly A Great Band!
I don't know how anybody could have a favorite Moodies song, they are so excellent I couldn't make a choice.between them myself. I've been listening to them for 45 yrs., they haven't let me down once.
+Jeffrey Kroon They celebrate their 50th anniversary this November (they actually started in May 1964 but disbanded not long after their first album and reformed in Nov. 66)
I have been a huge fan since they started in the 60s. I graduated from high school in 1966. I am attending my 50th high school reunion in October 2016 in Arizona. As a side trip, I am driving to Las Vegas to see these guys in concert at the Venetian Hotel and Casino and to help celebrate their 50 years together. I'm almost 69 years old and I am looking forward to this concert like a little kid waiting for Christmas morning to open his presents. Once in a lifetime opportunity for me to see my all-time favorite and the all-time best rock and roll band ever.
Well said and I am in full agreement. My favorites are the ones that strike me at the moment. Sometimes soulful sometimes rocking. You can listen to the music as background or just jamb along. When my sons over time confiscated my CD's, I re-orders my 7 or 8 favorites
The lyrics are so true!!! I was born Christian and still am and believe in God. Years ago loved listening to the Moody Blues. Now dealing with Stage 4 cancer, etc. Lori Banaszak/Haley/Zimmermann.
Great, fantastic. The years have not diminished the Moodies one tiny bit. They defy time. A lovely, lovely song performed to perfection, that brings me to tears every time I hear it.
I know you guys have done this song a million times and I've heard it a million times but today I listen to it again in the middle of a storm in my life and I'm so glad that you guys put the same heart in it now that you did then. Thank you.
When I was young...when the Blues first came out...I really did think that they were from another world...they were so special..always had a special message to send to us earthlings...lol, they are such a great band...Love you Moody Blues.
They bid us come where they have been, out there among the stars. Get a close look at planet Mars. (Floating) Their connection to the rhythm of the Universe is amazing
Reconnected with my love of the Moody Bluse upon hearing of Ray Thomas passing. Many hours of bliss during my turbulent youth listening to this glorious music. You done good Ray, RIP.

+Cindy Afgreyparrot Sorry, Cindy. Oddly enough, I am playing this broken hearted over a former lover who passed away last week. It is a stark reminder to not take anyone for granted because we ultimately share the same destiny.
+Cindy Afgreyparrot :(, :(, :(, :(, :(, :(...
DON'T BE SAD MY DARLING......YOUR HUSBAND WILL ALWAYS BE WITH YOU......IF ONLY YOU KNEW HOW MUCH.....LOVE YOU SWEET ONE.....😢😇😇😇😇🌟✨🌟💫💫💫💫💫🌟💕💕💕💕
Yup I'm 68 now and I still injoy this group
Yeah- they were that good. Thanks for sharing this.
I've seen the Moody Blues 26 times. My frist show was 1974. I born in 1960. They were such fabulous sounding show all the up till Gream died. I've even seen Justin and Johns solo tours. I'll always love this band till I die.
Nearing October 2019 and Moody Blues are still humming in my seventy two year old head. Fantastic. Are you listening today’s artists?
Me, too, friend. Seventy two as well.
And no, I'm not at all interrested in the latest ... well, "artists".
Me too!
J Pathak great music is being made to this day, you just have to look beyond the radio and tv
69 here!
71 GOING ON 2
As someone who couldn't care less about music, the Moody Blues transcend that feeling of mine ... they are great! Best group ever.
Great musiciants!
Rest in peace Ray Thomas and Graeme Edge, the music remains in our hearts ❤
Mere words can't begin to describe how beautiful this performance is..
Yes indeed, incredibly moving.
Fabulous!!
Its literally every performance. Justin and Edge are complete perfectionist. I remember in 89 Justin said sorry to me for singing 1 word wrong in in a 5 hour set. They are fracking heroes!
Hard to choose a favourite Song from this amazing band. This would be up there. Still enjoying them all at 82 years
Probably the most wonderfully beautiful song I've heard in my life and I'm 67!
Does it get any better? The power and beauty of this music has not lessened over the many years. The sweetness of the universe's love is so uniquely expressed in the music of the Moody Blues. My heart grows with every note and phrase....
I got such chills when the audience went wild, near the end before the song ever ended!!!!....What an Awesome Band
I discovered them age 17 and am 71 now ....good music never dies
The Moody Blues songs often had an other worldly ethereal quality to them. This is one of their best, most unique masterpieces.
Love the Moody blues. My favorite album is. In Search of the Lost Cord. Peace and joy 😊 thanks ❤️ 8888
For me it all started back in the sixties with Go Now, here I am now seventy years old and still love listening to them. Lucky enough to see them a few times, fist time 1968
Me too.
I’m now 79 and can remember putting go now on the juke box I was eighteen loved that record and the group ever since
My favorite song ever. Was played at my wedding, as I walked down the aisle; and will be played at my funeral. (It's in my Will). Peace, Love & Moody Blues Forever! xoxo
I made a mix tape for my son's memorial service in 1996 (he was 23) that included this song. He was so loving and a beautiful soul.
Kathleen Gould My condolences. There is no greater pain than losing a child. Prayers and good wishes for you.
I'm a 68 year young VETERAN COSMIC ROCKER WHO WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU🌎❤️
you must be a beautiful person
Well said Karta....all the people here listening to this beautiful piece of music are beautiful loving people..Also RIP Ray thomas
This band has given us some of the most beautiful & timeless songs.
TY Lord for sharing them with us!!!❤❤❤
I have listened to this group for 50+ years and many of your songs have helped me to get through some real tough times. Always tops with me and songs are so relevant and strong even today.
Perhaps the most beautiful love song ever.
There’s never been another band on the same planet as these fellas.
You can still see Justin Hayward. His voice is as beautiful as ever!
Makes me want to cry. John Lodge solo, is a very good concert. So many great songs and excellent songs by these gents.
💕
Hey William, touching stuff, really. I am not too knowledgeable on the Moody Blues, but their music is deep and thought-provoking enough to have likely brought some peace during a tumultuous moment of time.
Also, I believe Sandy Hook was in 2012 rather than in 2014
OOPS 2012
wow thx for sharing this
I lost my wife September 2020. This song let's me dream.
I lost my wife some years ago and I can't tell you how much Know what you mean.
Sorry for your loss.
+Pat McDermott Forty-five years? Gut Gott, they still move me....
Me too.
The lyrics are so true!!! I was born Christian and still am and believe in God. Years ago loved listening to the Moody Blues. Now dealing with Stage 4 cancer, etc. Lori Banaszak/Haley/Zimmermann.
God help us All
Lori, GOD BLESS YOU.
HE AND I LOVE YOU. PRAYING WITH YOU. AMEN.
SE MICHIGAN 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 ❤❤❤
OMG, I will love them forever and a day, bless you beautiful souls!!!
My all time favorite! Thank you for all the wonderful memories! R.I.P. Graeme Edge...
A timeless song, and it still gives me chills when I hear it...
RIP Mike...thank you for so many great songs. and this one is among my favourites..😢

Thank you.
Liked it just the same 50 years ago..might be in top 10 of all time
Saw them at the Star Lake Amphitheater years ago. They opened with The Voice I still get goose bumps when I think about that moment.
Fell in love with my first boyfriend to the Moody Blues. I've never forgotten him. Every time I hear a Moody Blues song I think of him.
When I was young...when the Blues first came out...I really did think that they were from another world...they were so special..always had a special message to send to us earthlings...lol, they are such a great band...Love you Moody Blues.
As it turns out, we all are...
When I listen to Moody my mind drifts back to home.
They bid us come where they have been, out there among the stars. Get a close look at planet Mars. (Floating)
Their connection to the rhythm of the Universe is amazing
God it's beautiful, years and years after, still gorgeous!
What a classic! Beatiful voices! This is something special...God bless Moody Blues!
What a magical performance of this classic song. Never fails to touch my heart in special ways every time I view this video.
It's like a prayer set to music . It as elements of The Canon in D of Pachabel. Well done Moody Blues and well done The London Philharmonic orchestra.
Reconnected with my love of the Moody Bluse upon hearing of Ray Thomas passing. Many hours of bliss during my turbulent youth listening to this glorious music. You done good Ray, RIP.
I have been a Moody Blues fan since I first heard them in the late 60’s. I am 65 now and have seen them in concert at least 5 times, INCREDIBLE!!!!!
Moody Blue, you're of one the greatest band ever. I love your music and your songs.
