I am starting to learn more from you and appreciate the way you cut to the chase. Right now, being that Adobe has discontinued Encore, I am in a dilemma. How can I build a DVD and Author it with Menus and chapter markers without having to buy new software to do it. Can I do it all in PPro 2023 CC? Even though I've been using PPRO for 20 years plus I continually search for new things to do with PPro. Thanks in advance for your help and advice.

That's never going to happen... That business model has been gone for a decade. Guarantee you DaVinci will switch too.

Resolve. Never used to use After Effects so one click in Resolve and you are in Fusion. And when I used Premiere earlier I never learned to do nothing to colours. Now I understand colours, luma and other in Resolve color page..

I have learned so much from you on Premiere pro. I love the very fast tutorials , because i am a quick learner. I am still new, only doing this for 2 years now, but I am getting a lot of bookings going into next year, hoping you don't fully abandon Premiere pro tutorials you make are game changing for me.

I am using Premiere for edititing and Da Vinci for color grading. I think that Premiere has much faster workflow for editing

I can immediately tell someone isn't a professional if they express even the tiniest identification with a particular software. If you're a pro, you use whatever software or piece of gear that's needed for the project. The only people who obsess over "switching" from one thing to the other are newbies or amateurs who for some reason get personal identification from joining one or the other of the cults that are dedicated to worshipping or hating a particular brand. At this point, the moment any UA-camr posts a "I'm switching to Resolve" video, that's an instant drop and block, because I know at that point they are just chasing views and trends. It's the "I'm Switching to Resolve" Industrial Complex. I can only pray this trend passes soon.
Just use whatever software you want to use. if you're a professional, the final product shouldn't clearly indicate you used one software or another. If you're a professional, you won't be whining about paying $60 a month for Adobe's entire suite of software. Seriously, if $60 cuts into your bottom line so severely you have to go online or on UA-cam to complain about it, then you're just a hobbyist.
From moment to moment, project to project, you should be using whatever software or tool or website you need to get a project done.

I agree there is definitely a trend when it comes to these Switching to Davinci vids, but to just dismiss it _entirely_ as a trend that people are taking advantage of just for views is incorrect to me. There is definitely different differences between whatever editing software you choose to use. It's true that a professional should make the most out whatever they use, but imagine whatever final product they made being formed in a different editor with a lot more options present. For example, Color Grading in Premiere vs Davinci isn't even close. There's so much more freedom available to master your shot to the highest potential compared to Premiere Pro. You can still definitely get a good color grade in Premiere, but how could you know that this is the best possible color grade for your shot when you have more tools and freedom in Davinci?
Your argument makes sense, I honestly agree, but I disagree that EVERY video talking about switching to Davinci can be chalked up to a trend.
It's like making the argument that someone switching from a DSLR to a mirrorless camera; Im sure the person using a DSLR has mastered it and could create the same type of shots as someone using a Mirrorless camera could, but you can't deny that there's definitely a plethora of fundamental differences and quality of life differences between a DSLR and a mirrorless camera that exists and would make it worth it to switch.
60 dollars a month in itself may not sound a lot, but that compounds with all of the other monthly fees that a person may have. There's lots of people who aren't in the best financial position but still want to seriously pursue filmmaking and content creation. The price is definitely a factor that should be observed and taken into account. Calling someone a hobbyist for not being able to afford the tools they need to make the content they want to make is just gatekeeping my guy.
And finally, the idea that we can't complain about an editor isn't wise. We can definitely complain on youtube about things we don't like with our editor. Why don't we have the Shutter Angle parameter in the default motion effect controls? There would be nothing wrong with making this complaint in general. Complaining as a collective whole is how potential positive change occurs.

@@OmniMediaLtd I'm all for complaining about a product. My primary software is the Adobe Suite, and I am on Adobe forums all the time. It's fine to complain and try to make it better. But that's not what these "I'm Switching" videos are about. They are about playing on people's tribalism, especially newbies. It's FUN to join in a group and/or mob that's forming, especially when it's to pile on something else. It's FUN to create Us and Them divisions. Apple vs PC, Playstation vs XBox, iphone vs Android, Marvel vs DC, Democrat vs Republican, Christian vs Atheist, etc etc. I'm sure one more more of just this tiny list got most people's blood going.
Yes, Davinci Resolve is great. It's a fantastic piece of software that is more perfect for some people compared to any other software. But so is Adobe Premiere. So is Final Cut (Is it anymore? I never hear anyone praising or complaining about it anymore.) And if you REALLY want to get technical, all the Avid people just snicker at the Davinci vs Adobe flame wars because they know they are using the TRUE industry standard, and don't waste a single moment of their lives stressing about software.
And sure, $60 a month isn't an insignificant chunk of change, but if it's being used as a complaint for Adobe's suite not being as good as Davinci? That's a completely ridiculous factor to obsess over. If you can't afford $60 a month at the moment, that's perfectly understandable, but just chalk it up to that, not using that as a crutch to badmouth the other tribe. $60 a month is PEANUTS for what you're getting. Sure, FREE, or ONE-TIME-FEE is even better, but for the insane value you get with the Adobe Suite, it's just the tiniest price to pay.
But I'll say this again, and you can label it as 'gatekeeping', but if you want to be a professional, you'll jump off of the tribalistic software cult wars. It makes you LOOK like a hobbyist, or a total newbie. Pros don't care what was used to create something. 99% of CLIENTS couldn't care less about what software you used. All that matters is the final product. Academy Award and Emmy Award-winning editors have used ALL the different software packages and swear by them. It truly doesn't matter.
By all means, love one or the other, but jump off the tribe train.
