I would love to see an in depth understanding for sound design techniques in serum. Like I know most of the tools but I don’t know how to create movement in my sound.
I don't really design my own sounds within the VST's I use, but I do a considerable amount of post processing when I want to achieve a certain sound. A lot of it has to do with saturation. Check my last video for a deep dive on this!
Think about the vocal as the instrument, and make sure theres always room for it. If you get too complex with the beat or melody it will be hard for an artist to really flow in their pocket. There's no clear fine line, because it all depends on the artist you're working with, and what their taste is.
