    Just started making candles for myself, turns out I was pouring the wax too soon and that was causing my candles to set with sunken middles! Thanks for the video, it helped a lot!!

    Really great video. Hope you respond as I've made beeswax candles and unless I mix with coconut oil they just don't burn properly. Ive had success with soy but my heart ❤ is with the bees xx
    I don't hear you mention a blend

      I am new to making candles too and I thought the coconut oil was supposed to make them last longer..?? But maybe it’s not totally necessary? 🤷‍♀️I’d love to know !

      @@missmeggie6461 Hello! I've been making and selling beeswax candles with 50% coconut oil. I use Oui yogurt jars and large cotton wicks, and add 10% fragrance oil or 3-5% essentail oils. They burn very nicely with the diameter of the jars and the coconut oil makes for much more forgiving wax - less tunnelling, less particular about what temp to pour the jars as far as appearance on the outside. Good luck!

    If you use oils and fragrance, if you reuse leftover wax, won't the scent be in the next batch? I'm new to candle making and your video has been super super helpful. I just had the one question

    • @gingersweeney7071
      @gingersweeney7071 Рік тому +1

      I use zero waste practices and always melt all kinds of things together for those odd candles - they have the scent from previous ones, so I can't burn them in my house because I'm too sensitive to the fragrances, but people will buy them at a discount price and enjoy the fragrance blends.

    So I'm a novice at this and so far I had issues with air bubbles and craters when using glass containers. I know it is because of uneven cooling rates, but how do you solve the issues. I have tried a half-dozen methods, but nothing has proven to be the silver bullet. I don't use essential oils or coconut butter or whatever it is called.

      @@kiwiprouddavids724 Yes, I stopped making them. Or when I do a lot of heat gun use is required. Even porcelain vessels like a coffee mug I've learned to melt extra wax and let it cool down before pouring, then put a metal lid on top to keep the heat temp consistent.
