Let's Talk About Zombies

- Zombies, what are they and where did they come from. And when the zombie thing happens in real life, would you save your cat? Because I would. I literally would, I don't care what it costs, I'm saving my cats. This is why I'm buying a sword, in case of emergency where I might have to defend my cats. I don't care if they eat my eyeballs when I'm dead, they deserve that, I left my eyeballs to them in my will. Those are certified cat-safe eyeballs. Anyway, yeah zombies.

All of the zombie movies I mentioned in the video - Розваги
"Check out that zombie. THAT is my masterpiece. The fists of a Dark Karate master... The legs of the fastest demon in the Netherworld... The brain of Mahogany, a famous sorcerer... Tthe iron body of Hercules... And a horse wiener, all combined into one: the Netherworld's ultimate zombie!!"
- Aramis, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness
I need to play that again, that was a great game. :)
Jesus Christ my favorite lich
Turns out the holly grail is he's phylactery.
Christ is fun, but Jesus is not really dead in this story. And brings confirmation the shroud of whome is a fake
Haha, thank you for a Bird Channel video for my birthday!
Happy birthday! I'm glad I timed it so well! :p ❤️
Thanks for the another nice video! And for the hype on train to busan too, I'm going to watch it today! 🧟🧟♂
Enjoy the movie, I know you will!
This is easily my favourite mythology channel on UA-cam bar none. Every time I watch these videos I always learn something new!
Ahh, that's very sweet of you to say!
Same here!
Thanks for this neat zombie video, Bird Channel!
Thank you for watching! ❤️
fucking cried at the don't stop coming bit 🤣
I always thought zombies should continue to decay until they become inert.
I love your style, topics and overall presentation. Appreciate these topics of fantasy and lore
These videos are SOOO GODDAMN GOOOOD!!! I just can't take it!!! fdjakfljdhshahhgah!!!!!!
❤️❤️
After watching this hour long commercial for it I went and watched the train to busan. And wow! What a movie! Really hit me in the feels in the end 😢
Yessss, I'm glad you watched!
Zombie Research Society... who would of thought they'd be...."off"?
Missile launcher in the fanny pack, I love that about games. IE in wow where you could carry twelve sets of armour in your backpack. Or in Star Trek Online, where when pirates attack the bar you're in, the exotic dancer on stage (wearing what an exotic dancer wears), pulls out a minigun from...somewhere?
I'm currently reading Feed by Mira Grant, and I have to say, great book about zombies and, somehow, politics.
even though it's about the walking undead, this is a lovely video!
Thank you for the new Video!
Great researchwork and overall a very good video :3
Seeing you pop up is a day-maker. Can't wait to watch later 😊
Zombie Bob is best Bob.
Wonderful video, of course!
Zombies deteriorating, bones to break, etc. Reminds me of the 'Revenant' Laura in the show 'American Gods'. Ludicrously strong, doesn't feel pain, but her body can still be damaged. Her shoulder gets smashed by a crowbar in one scene, and she's later seen walking home carrying the detached arm. In another case she had all four limbs detached, and an expert in the deceased (a mortician, who is also one of the old gods, the Egyptian god of the dead Anubis), pieces her back together again, provides a spray tan of sorts to conceal the pasty white rotting skin, and advises her to use strips of fly tape wherever she's staying to catch all the flies...
I really need to start reading American Gods.
@@ProperBird The show is really well done as well, too bad it ended. Great casting choices too, Ricky Whittle as Shadow Moon, the star of Sucker Punch (Emily Browning) as Laura, Ian McShane as Mr Wednesday, Crispin Glover as Mr World, Pablo Schreiber as Mad Sweeney (my favourite character)...
Always in for some good ol' zombie analysis.
What I like the most about the Resident Evil zombie is that Capcom kept evolving them mechanically throughout the series. Started off as fodder in the original, so they added more for the Director's Cut Arranged mode. Then in Classic RE2 they gave them a lunge to give them some range attacks. In Classic RE3 - they could go "turbo" and charge you really fast while being harder to knock back. Then in RE1 Remake they added the Crimson Head mutation to make them an even bigger pain in the butt, so now you had to take them more seriously than before. Ofc there's more , but that's the basics.
I love basiclay every video you do thank you for posting at all your video,s make me happy
I'm really glad to hear that! ❤️
I know that its meant to be parody, but the relationship between bob and mike is almost exactly how it is between my longest known friend and I. I feel attacked
Your pronunciation of Draugr is good and small thing i believe that haugbúar is the plural of haugbúi. Loved the video, enjoy these deep dives, just don't overwork yourself
Great Video, thank you. I like me some good Zombie stories. And these are just incredible well researched and of course told! 💜
You also had me laughing at "like extremely persistant billionaires" 😂
Can't speak for the TV show, but I read All of Us are Dead. It was good.
I have to thank you. It adds to me using my seemingly ambiguous or prodigious information for my own contemplation.😊
Ty for inspiring thought.
Frankenstein's monster was another early science zombie.
I did not include Frankenstein because I don't consider him a zombie, he was a creation. We all draw our lines somewhere. ^^
@@ProperBird Fair enough.
Any video by you is a good video no matter the topic 😁
It's sweet of you to say so! 😊
Once again, another great video by yours truly! Always an educational and entertaining way to learn about new things. I do have a question though: Do you know if you'll ever talk about dragons in the near future?
I have no idea, I usually just write about things that interest me at the time. ^^;
!quote
#49 "My freezer is now full, I don’t have any more room for dead people."
Also thank you! ❤️
Have you ever looked into Mellified man? If not your should. I'll leave you look into it yourself, but if you think "human mummy confection" you'll know why it's worth checking into. :)
I've heard of those, not part of my day to day diet ^^;
You mentioned a lack of satisfying werewolf games as well. I think the optimal genre would be adventure detective due to the periodical threat within a restricted/small geographical area. That is they only manifest one night a month, during full moon, and roam the area where they live as humans. They don't really spread the curse to make more werewolves like vampires and zombies do, so a game where you have a month to discover who is the werewolf by talking to people, gathering clues etc would work better than an action game. The same setup could be applied to a game where you have to figure out who in the community is a witch. The urgency here instead is that authorities have sent for higher ecclesiastic and lay authorities to figure things out, but those guys torture first and ask questions second... in Latin, so even if those interrogated knew something it wouldn't help because they don't speak Latin. So you need to solve the case before they arrive.
Honestly I'd like a game where I play as the werewolf (but done well), instead of looking for one. It's why I was so excited for Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood, but that one was a dud too.
@@ProperBird You're not old enough :) Try gobbling potions in "Zombies ate my neighbours". Somewhat ironically, that gives you werewolf gameplay. Ok, soort van.
En misschien "The wolf among us".
Have you tried Lollypop Chainsaw? That was a fun zombie game.
I have!
Zombies already exist, as anyone who has ever been inside an Amazon warehouse will tell you.
Oh my goodness, thank you so much! ❤️
For some reason I’m starting to think I should watch Train to Busan…
You know, you really should.
Uh, I know that they are an appropriated myth changed to the point where they only share the name with the original?
There was something about being enslaved by people as well?
I frankly don't know much about undead besides parcour being really good to escape them.
Let's explore another controversial zombie matter, more justified that the mummy one.
Are Dead Space's necromorphs a form of zombie?
Rrrrrrrr!
watching andromeda dance of the mayflies a space virus is killing people then they reanimate and try o blow the virus on the living by kissing them before you yell this was way before the last of us
If you want to see a fun little zombie romp, the movie "Aaah! Zombies!!" (2007) is a campy little number, seen via the zombies perspective.
I hadn't heard of that one before, I'll give it a watch!
Wait, Baron Samedi isn't a zombie right?
He is not, he's the Lord of the Cemetery ^^
