This guy is the opposite of an influencer. He doesn’t tell you what to do. He tells you what works for him, he doesn’t sell a product, he is proof of his lifestyle. He doesn’t LIE he just tells you the TRUTH. Plain simple straightforward information and video journals to prove it. Thank you for your genuine and honest vlogging. It just goes to show the proof is in the work you do.
Thanks for this vidéo! Any conversation about Diets are always a touchy subject in a public space such as UA-cam. You managed to navigate the subject without being judgmental about any particular position that some may adhere to and clarified fairly important details about your own relationship to rest , diet and exercise. Greetings from PatagoniaChile!!!!
Bill - love this brother. So refreshing to hear someone being honest and “normal” in the nutrition space. Thank you for all you do. Fried Yummy Whatever 😎 -Doo🙏🏼🇺🇸🔱
Absolutely I agree. I PRETTY MUCH TRY THE SAME STUFF THAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT I'M 65 YEARS OLD. SO I EAT WHAT I WANT TO EAT AND I AGREE THAT WORKING OUT AND MY GENETICS WILL TAKE CARE OF IT AT LEAST FOR ME. I JUST CAME ACROSS YOUR CHANNEL GREAT VIDEOS KEEP POSTING THE GOOD STUFF. One last comment sleep is very important.
Mahalo for being so open. I have tried all sorts of too. I am 69-yrs. old. I am trying intermittent fasting now - skip breakfast, but do get very hungry before my first meal or lunch.
Yeah appreciate the honesty and logic in not going into diet here too often. Gut micro biome has a big effect on how we digest things and cravings etc. Depending on what kind of micro biome you’ve built for yourself. So if you make a drastic change in your diet it might not go down so easy until your gut has adjusted. Simple is good I find. Fruits and vegetables. Uncooked ideally. Some nuts and seeds. Drink water. If you can come up with goals, ideals or a baseline like that then you can keep yourself on track. Because diet IS important when it comes to arterial, organ, bone etc health.
This might be the most honest and practical video on diet ever! Thank you for not being a chicken and broccoli diet guy! Strong work Bill!!! Love your content!
@fitpro Hawaii @Bill I appreciate the focus on reducing stress and allowing for a new version of workouts to come from a new perspective. Keep crushing it! You mentioned the fasting state I think you wanted to touch the topic of prolonged fasting. I have never completed a long version of a fast past 18 hrs. What is your take of the longer fast?
You are hilarious! In a good way. Your deadpan humour delivered with serious undertones woven into your lifestyle anecdotes is highly compelling. Informative. Educational. Thought provoking! Kia ora! 🙏
@Bill I have a weird question for you. What brand of shorts do you wear? I love how they provide coverage but easily slide up and down your legs. Thank you for sharing your work and inspiring us out here in interweb land!
Interesting! Sometimes you just need to deload or go into active rest for short time. After consistently training hard....the cumulative fatigue creeps up.
Great logic in my opinion. I have always been in my best shape through consistency and enjoyment = find foods u like and make them work. Keep it simple keep it easy.
Hello! I was wondering what would be a good workout for me. I 44 years old. I am 8 months out of emergency open heart graft surgery. I have gained weight and I need to get in shape. I love you videos.
Great post mate....I hear what you are saying about not being able to consume large quantities of food as you get older....I'm 58 now and I just don't feel good consuming large servings.
So glad to see you take time off to heal injuries. Awesome you haven’t gained in the down time. You’re lucky to have a full button when eating, my biggest problem. Being on carnivore has help me feel full(er) at least. 😀
In terms of low bodyfat, how do you keep it that way? Are you always moving? What are you doing besides exercising? I feel that you move a lot more than the average person in order to be burning calories. Thanks!
This sounds like me. I got shredded for a show not once counting calories or macros. Never cut out egg yolks or beef ate zero chicken breast. Still maintain 12% bf eating whatever I want. Five guys 2-3x a week. I drink zero alcohol and I’m now 53. Plenty of pistachios and cashews and fruit. Used to want to be a competitive eater but now my appetite is not what it used to be. Tho I can still put away some large amounts on occasion…
Use a heart rate monitor every day. Checking your resting heartrate in the mornings can teach you if your over trained and need rest. It's the tachometer for your body.
@@fitprohawaii Polar makes great ones, Garmin too. Some can track distances / steps if you run or hike. My Garmin doesn't need a chest strap which is nice, but it doesn't seem to be as accurate, it's old though. But get to know your RHR, resting heart rate. It'll run high when your body is over trained. And it'll go lower as your cardio gets better. I imagine yours is pretty low for your age.
Aloha uncle, can train me? Trying to get active for my mental health and be more motivated for my kid. I also want to be stronger, leaner, and be able to do the things you do when I am older.
You should watch that podcast of Joe Rogan with Matthew Walker he talks about sleep and how important it is to get 7 to 9 hours of sleep, although there’s very few people on the planet that don’t get affected from 4 to 5 hours of sleep
This is nuts I’m 38 202 pounds. I’ve been training since I was a kid that finally decided to take a break or just to mentally get myself right felt like God was calling me for a break lol but I’ve noticed the same results. I lost maybe 2 pounds muscle mass seems to be the same but appetite has changed drastically. I can go all day on a protein shake a piece of fruit and a salad.
You know what, Bill? This really pisses me off! Cuz I DO need to watch what I eat to get results. Me and 98% of everyone else, you genetic freak! 🤣 Just joking, Aloha Bill! 🤙
everyone is narcissistic. If you're not, why don't you donate everything that you have to the people in need? if not, then you too are a narcissistic. you care about yourself. there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. EVERY human being on this fucking planet is a narcissistic. I can tell you're a little kid.
@justinava1675. I didn’t get a narcissistic vibe from him at all. You can share personal experiences without being a narcissist . Getting genuine and usable feedback or building up a circle of like minded folks to think about health, exercise and diet often starts with putting forth personal experience first. I wouldn’t be so quick to reduce his efforts to narcissism.
When you’ve experienced a real narcissist you know this guy is not one. But to answer your question - it’s really simple, because if you are able to ask yourself the question: “Am I a narcissist?”, you’re not a narcissist. Because narcissist don’t ask themselves that question.
How do you stay interested in weight lifting? After 7 years of hard training, I've just given up. Got bored of it all. I've accomplished my reasoning for hard training and I've also gained lots of weight because I've finished what I've wanted. Now weight lifting seems like a chore, the same mechanical process I've done for years except it's just boring now. How do you stay interested in weight lifting?

Good honesty warrior! Stay the course, i'm right behind you!
I’ve been following you on UA-cam and I just saw that you had cancer and overcame it !! I just got remission from lymphoma!! Thanks for your help!!
Gracias por su sinceridad. Sus ejercicios son fantásticos, muchas gracias.

Hahaha I’m actually glad to have a model like you that eats intuitively

Хороший мужик ) хорошего дня )
You think your diet had any role to play in your (now beaten) GI cancer diagnosis at all ? Genuine question
The fitness world can learn so much from the integrity here
Rest days over age 55 is key, I work out every other day. In the diet - I eat great 23 hours a day and usually blow it after dinner
awesome. do you have a beer once in a while?
Use a heart rate monitor every day. Checking your resting heartrate in the mornings can teach you if your over trained and need rest. It's the tachometer for your body.
I’m looking into a Whoop or Oura.
Any recommendations?

So it’s more a calorie restricting diet then. Roughly what daily calorie range? 500-1000 / 1000-1500 ??
Aloha uncle, can train me?

Just a balanced diet ….thats all it takes . This man is €¥€King KING 👑!! A total Hawaiian 🌺 Legend
