  • 🌺CAUTION: THIS VIDEO IS FOR DEMONSTRATION PURPOSES ONLY.
    THE EXERCISE(S) CAN BE DANGEROUS.
    PLEASE VIEW WITH
    DISCRETION.
This video is for people who are new or returning to exercise and don’t know how to start.
Squats and Push Ups strengthen the whole body, so I’m going to demonstrate how I use very easy versions of Squats and Push Ups to to help create:
-A workout that is easy to remember, perform, and recover from.
-A workout that allows the joints, blood vessels, and nervous system adequate time to adapt to increases in muscular strength.
-The habit of taking time every day to exercise.
What’s important when practicing this workout is to KEEP EVERYTHING EASY by:
    -Keeping it very short.
-Working in the easy range of motion.
-Only doing the repetitions that are easy.
-Stopping to rest while the repetitions are still easy.
-Taking lots of rest as often as you like.
The goal is to find a range of motion in an exercise that is short and pain free enough to perform several repetitions.
The next goal is to stop the exercise as soon as you start feeling tired.
It’s always encouraging to discover how strong you can get by being patient and gentle with the nervous system and not exercising too hard.
If at the end of every set of exercise you do this way you stop to rest before you feel tired, then that set should be helpful in building the neural and vascular systems of the entire body.
And building the Squat and the Push Up from the top down over the course of many shallow and easy reps is a reliable way to increase strength and the ability to train at a higher level for continued improvements.
    Aloha to you and yours🥭

The pushup position alone is a powerful exercise. You don't even need to move.

At 68, with spinal injury and other problems, these are great instruction and encouragement. It's easy to either do nothing or go too hard. Neither works as you age. Much appreciated!

Bill, this is great - this morning, I tried slow & controlled w/ both moves, but only to where I felt a “twang” or minor impingement… what I found was that each “set” I was able to go deeper. Gold brother!!! 🙏🏼🇺🇸🔱

64 5'10 173 and my legs were the first body part that was neglected most of my life. So recently i said enough is enough and started doing weightless squats. I could hardly do 10. Then i got up into the 70s on the first set and it drops like a rock down to 30 or 20 for 3 or 4 more sets. My legs get sore for days. I then started using my 20 pound bar and did sets of 20,25 and tried to get 200 total reps. I got up to 45 total pounds last week for 7 sets of 20. This week i went back to no weight squats. I seem to get more out of the weightless squats but will probably alternate each week. Your legs are the most important part of your body. They are your base on which holds you up. And in older age its important. I don't believe that half of the American people could even do one full weightless squat.Ps. i have found that wearing my workboots puts my heels at a perfect height to get the most out of a squat.

What good advice! It makes perfect sense. The day before yesterday I returned to the gym after 2 months of inactivity and I punished myself a lot, that kept me off for 2 days. I really regret that. Now knowing that I must feel that the day of training at the Gym has felt like I didn't make the most of it 100%, it makes me feel confident that I have enough energy to not miss it, and go.😂Thank you so much!💪

Like most things, a little practice done frequently lays a solid and sustainable foundation for future development. There’s more to this, but I hope it’s a helpful place to start.

Brilliant info, I accidentally found myself doing those type of squats just recently. Looks like nothing, but 3-5mins in, my thighs were on fire. (Found them to be great for recovery)...

The powers and significance of this range of motion is very easy to overlook, but it’s foundational to being able to do deeper movements and more repetitions. It just requires more a deeper understanding and appreciation of the process over the goal.

Do you recommend this 7 days a week?

    • @fitprohawaii
      @fitprohawaii  15 днів тому +2

No. But I do recommend developing the habit of prioritizing 10 minutes a day to your physical health. Everything should be easy and easy to repeat. If you’re patient and diligent, you’ll create a foundation that will serve you much longer than one created with less awareness and purpose.
