This is the statement of existentialism. The government did not want to listen to the demands of the students in 2024 first, slandered them, falsely tagged them as criminals and 3rd party instigators etc. The government tried to resist the students and indicated that it would be resisted by law, some MPs from the ruling party said. Many agitators died in this, for which the government is entirely responsible. The ruling government terrorized the students and carried out murders through the Awami League leaders and activists. On 17 July 2024, 7 people who were protesting across the country died. The students held a human chain program in protest of the 18th killing, in which the government shot at the agitating students through the police and killed the students, the number of which was countless, the movement accelerated and became a mass movement. The agitating students demanded justice for this murder to you (international) using Facebook but the government closed schools, colleges, universities and university hostels to suppress the agitation. Turn off internet service. So that it is not exposed to the outside world through the Internet. Even now, the Internet has not been turned on. It has been 8 days since the internet was shut down. The government has opened the internet but the public internet is closed. Facebook closed, only UA-cam launched. This is not a democracy. Students are being wronged. They were shown once to the High Court and once to Parliament. The student movement turned into a mass movement when a curfew was imposed so that no one could leave their homes. When the student died it was not disclosed but all our internet network systems were shut down so that it could not reach the international community. I am a student. I don't know why our government did this. It has been in power for 15 years. There is no democracy. The problem is if you protest... It was not a political movement but the government is trying to pretend to be a saint to the international community by saying it is a political movement. Please Save Bangladeshi Students.please
Sheikh Hasina cannot justify any of the killings by saying it was orchestrated by BNP Jamat. People who support BNP and Jamat have the same rights as any other Bangladeshi citizen. They have every right to support the tortured students and interestingly every individual in this movement was unarmed who Sheikh Hasina's lethal force killed brutally. This cannot be justified.
@@animatabassum-fd8ebyeah we didn’t see those videos of police mercilessly shooting and nobody in the world's telling the truth only govt controlled medias are apparently
Just a note, the courts are not independent in Bangladesh. The court ruling on job quotas are not binding and the ruling specifically states that their suggestions are subject to future government review. This is merely political grandstanding.
This is another example of nonsense. The government, as the representative of the executive branch of the country, has the authority to either increase or decrease the amount or proportion of quotas or reservations in the government service commission, which is a constitutional clause. However, it is not necessary for the government to actually increase the reservation proportion. On the other hand, the government has issued a new circular stating that 93% of the total jobs would be based on merit.
@in_tasin And why, if the government had the goodwill, did the government not agree to the student' legitimate requests before? Why did they need to kill hundreds of students and injure thousands before agreeing to change the quotas? Why did the crime minister Hasina put out extremely provocative statements calling the students 'razakar' for asking for jobs? Why are there systematic arrests and torture still going on countrywide? It's extremely obvious that they are walking back their previous statements only due to the unexpectedly strong student resistance. The moment Hasina manages to strengthen her position, she will walk back these quotas. She is not to be trusted. Those who are still supporting her after she brutally killed hundreds of our countrymen are a special category in themselves.

I'm from Bangladesh. Many might feel sympathy for Sheikh Hasina without knowing the whole story, so I want to share some eye-opening facts. In just the last two weeks, these horrible things happened under the brutal reign of Sheikh Hasina. Here are some facts you need to know: 1. Over 486 documented killings have occurred so far; at least 109 people were shot dead, even on her last day in power (August 5). 2. Some estimates suggest that more than 1,000 people have been killed, most of them students. 3. Over 40,000 people have been wounded. 4. More than 15,000 people have been arrested. 5. The government imposed nationwide curfews. 6. The entire nation was cut off from the internet for over a week. 7. Facebook, WhatsApp, and other social networks were blocked for more than two weeks to suppress freedom of speech. 8. Protesters were killed by direct fire from helicopters. 9. The police and Border Guard Force are directly involved in killing unarmed students. 10. On her last day in power, she ordered law enforcement to kill thousands more people, but the Army refused to comply with this brutal decision. THESE ARE THE LIST OF ONLY 2 WEEKS OF BRUTALITY. SHE RULED BANGLADESH WITH TERROR LIKE THIS FOR THE LAST 15 YEARS.
My fellow Bangladeshis already know this but any internationals watching, please take anything said by a member of the Awami League party with a grain of salt. Everyone in awami league and everyone in the high court and the police and army are controlled by Hasina. Her party has been trying to pass off her decissions as rulings of the high court or the scheming of opposing parties but none of this is true. Bangladesh is a dictatorship. At the moment Awami League is the only party with power. They are the ones hurting students who have been peacefully protesting for their rights. There is no matter of debate here. Hasina has been on a killing spree for 15 years and the spree has finally reached it' peak. The media in our own country is controlled by Hasina and the media in other countries are vastly limited in their contextual understanding of what is going on in the country at the moment. Over the past week nearly a thousand people have been murdered by the government. Most of these deaths are unrecorded, having taken place during the 5 day long internet blackout. No one in the country is allowed to speak out about these things because the moment we do, communication is cut off again. This began as a protest for the quota system but really it is about justice. It is about showing that woman that she is not above consequences. It is about gaining back our right to freedom of speech and having a say in how our country is run.
Its true for all partisan people in Bangladesh. People who are for a party, will defend anything that party does. But most people hates these parties. Common Bangladeshi people are victims of these parties.
This is the case in every country, where the opposition party is blamed for various unstable conditions. But does this mean that the opposition has no role in the violence that has occurred in the past few days? When the curfew was imposed on Friday night, and even before that when there was no internet, not a single student went out. Instead, at that time, BNP-Jamaat brought their violent cadres from different parts of the country and set fire to various government and private institutions in Dhaka. These included toll plazas of elevated expressways, escalators, metro rail stations, Setu Bhaban, and disaster management buildings. They also engaged in violence at various other institutions. Later, the students stated through a press release that they had no involvement in such political violence. A certain group is repeatedly trying to turn their apolitical movement into a political one, and that group is BNP-Jamaat.
I remember once that one of my close friend who is a filipino shared his horror stories living through the days of the brutal dictatorial regime of Ferdinand Marcos. Now, the same can be said of Bangladesh under Hasina. The world needs to know more about this woman whose ultimate goal is to take revenge on her familys murder by venting her anger on her own people. Someday this autocratic ladys story should be on the history textbooks in schools all around the world.
Andrea conducted this interview extremely well. She was very professional, neutral and respectful. I was a college student in West Bengal when that Freedom Fight was happening. We all were glued to the radio and all the newspapers. It was an exemplary fight to the whole world, not just to South Asia. I don’t know what happened to that spirit and principles. As a Bengali woman I wish them nothing but peace and prosperity. These days each and every protest , rebellion or any such thing are labeled as terrorisim. That is so typical of the western media. I wonder did anybody try to listen or understand what those young, intelligent students initially wanted to say. Serious violence against some nonviolent protest sounds like we are in medieval age.

One very crucial thing to mention here: Although the court has reduced the quota system, they have also mentioned that govt has the power to change and alter the court order regarding quota system whenever and however it wants to. So the reduction of the quota has no meaning actually. Also, students are now asking for answers for the killing of UNARMED 900 students.

She also caught those who did this with proper evidence check out the news of Bangladesh

Here are some facts you need to know:
So who committed the arson attacks? If it's not the opposition then is it the students? Which would in turn justify the mass arrests?
Please keep speaking out whenever you can otherwise the truth will get suppressed & crimes will go unrecorded.

19:17 Nah I'll assure you all on behalf of the public without any political intentions, the majority of arrested persons are, in fact, students. We don't know if they're alive or not.
Some of my own friends are arrested and I haven't heard from any of them for at least a week now.
Thank you for listening us not our government
Look at the Awami leader's reaction. Now imagine what they'd do when all the powers belong to them.
As a student and citizen of Bangladesh, we can say that the person you brought in from Awami League is acting like a literal puppet. They talk in propaganda form and blind to the needs of the citizen. Its due to the sheer corruption and greed and the amount of power and blood money that they have to forgo if the govt is toppled.
Asif Mahmud said, on July 19, I was taken away from the Mahanagar Project house. They were then blindfolded and taken to an unknown location.
There, I was pressured to give a video message containing instructions to suspend the movement. As I did not agree, I was given an injection and kept unconscious. After that, when he regained consciousness, he was kept unconscious again

1500+ killed and 2000+ injured please do something for Bangladeshi 🇧🇩student
I am Ukrainian. This reminds me of 2014 the same happened in Ukraine - students were peacefully protesting and a lot of them were killed by a hired professional army. STUDENTS, CHILDREN! After that, all Ukrainians went to the streets, enormous amount of civilians died as well, but after all the blood we managed to change the government.
