Raizo: does insanely difficult skip, beating another skip WR after thousands upon thousands of cumulative skip attempts from the community Video: still has 15 minutes left
The whole WR thing turned into a bug hunting where you had to chase bug after bug after bug - the game is broken. Basically it’s determined by who will waste more time trying to trigger a bug to send you in a proper direction on the map.
pablogd *sets normal world record* FWO: "we're paying people to beat this guy but you must use a shortcut" pablogd: "MY RECORD! Also, thanks for the money."
There's actually a physics explanation to why airbraking works - it's done quite frequently in bmx racing; basically though braking transfers the rotational inertia from your spinning wheels into your frame, effectively making your wheel stop moving, and your frame continuing to do so. So if your wheel is attached to your frame, the vehicle has no choice but to rotate on that axis (which happens to be forward). This causes you to be able to stop pulling your nose up, and pull it down mid air. It's also for the opposite reason that acceleration midair causes the opposite rotation as braking It's a really cool real world thing that a lot of people don't realize exists irl

As awesome as all the shortcuts were, and how optimised the track has become, I genuinely think Eror’s wallride is the fastest method. If someone gets that one in a million miracle launch, they’ll never get beaten.
Nah, I think the bugslide is faster because you don't have to lose all your speed to turn around. You just have to go a bit further and yeet to the finish.
It must feel sooo good to see your car floating directly towards the finish line. Such a rush as it all develops slowly in front of you. I can't think of any speed run/world record situations that develop quite like that.

This is not just a world record run, its the history of thousands of attemps by a lot of ppl to push the limit, to go further.
Your videos are such a wonderful love letter to this gaming community. I've never played Trackmania or even tried speedrunning anything, but videos like yours really communicate the passion behind these players in a beautiful way. Truly incredible work!

For the past days, i gave been watching Wirtual videos about trackmania records, shortcuts, insane attempts and the game in general. And I'm in complete awe! All the history and genius thought behind such plays are almost unimanginable to me, this has to be one of the most brilliant speedrunning community i have seen! Thx Wirtual for presenting it at the best way possible.
I just wanted to leave a huge compliment. Back in Nations Forever I was just a casual player who loved to drive against friends online. A few weeks ago I came across the new Trackmania and watched some streams, mostly the AT Challenge. Now I was looking for fun videos to watch regarding this game and found your Channel and Videos. I have huge respect for you now. I watched the "Deep Fear" Video and others, tbh, I watched 3 hours of videos now and every single minute was a blast. Your storytelling, quality, and absolute maniac effort and dedication are inspiring. I mean you played that deep fear map for 15 hours - I can't even imagine how exhausting it had to be to drive that insane map while entertaining your chat etc. So huge respect and thanks for the stunning content you provide! I know, I know, nobody my respect doesn't mean anything since I'm just a stranger on the internet writing a comment on UA-cam :D. Anyway, I'm looking forward to spending even more time with the amazing videos you created. Keep the fantastic work up! Cheers :)
I watch his videos for a week or so now and i can also agree. The step by step explanation makes it enjoyable even if you know nothing of that game. I also only played it a bit casually back then when it was released, and seeing now how dedicated these players are is insane. And Wirtuals storytelling make all his videos often more intense than a good movie. The only other one i know who has this entertaining way of explaining speedruns is Karl Jobst. I watch him for about 2 years now and i love his content. It's one of the VERY few channels were i drop everything i do when a new video comes out 🥰
The dedication of TM community makes me celebrate and feel joy ever time I see one of these documentaries and I have not and never will play this game. Thank you for recording the exploits of your beautiful family of gamers Wirtual!
What I like most about these runs is that it brings people from all corners of the world together, sharing every bit of detail in order to improve the record, no matter who improves it. It's a kind of selflessness you don't find in many competitive (e-)sports.

Don't even bother at this point, you'll be depressed by how hard even the most basic of these speed tricks are to pull off. I've been a regular player for years and I can't get close to most of these times
Well of course hunting WRs are some quite hard stuff but you can aim for author medals and it's still satisfying imo. TMNF is free on Steam and does not really require high specs, you can try if you want.

@@X-Ter yes? i was simply stating there's an ridiculous amount of unused potential, even for humans. obviously doing a constant chain of uber bugs is nowhere near humanly possible but you can easily shave of a couple seconds of the human runs. i'm just saying as a longterm tm player i don't understand how they made these simple mistakes after playing the map thousands of times... its not like he had no time to react, he was literally in the air for a couple of seconds with a clear direction of where he was heading. why do you land there and decide to do a full turn around? its pretty stupid even while being nervous.
I played TMN ESWC & Forever as a kid. I was not a veeery good player, my thing was more to create maps in the editor (I think I have an old backup with the maps). Me, not a TM player, watching the first 26 minutes having watched Wirtual's other videos: Huh, surprised there's no Uberbug here. Seems like this track is set up in a way that it'd be possible. Me, immediately afterwards: Oh, there it is.
I remember watching Nino's video with the cut attempts, and pablo's WR. I forgot about the track and did not know its name, but you making this video has brought back some nostalgia for me.
The same guy that set the normal world record improved it with a shortcut world record. For some reason I love that. In other speedruns it is expected but in a game like Trackmania I didn't think I would see it. It feels awe inspiring to me somehow.
Hey Wirt, thanks for the great video! Small sidenote: the bug is called randstein, not rammstein. Randstein refers to the edgestone you often find to separate sidewalk and road, so the side of the road. Rammstein is the military base/metal band we all know and love :p

@@alpacattack512 Bro.... thank you.
As awesome as all the shortcuts were, and how optimised the track has become, I genuinely think Eror’s wallride is the fastest method. If someone gets that one in a million miracle launch, they’ll never get beaten.
Ha lol
Nah, I think the bugslide is faster because you don't have to lose all your speed to turn around. You just have to go a bit further and yeet to the finish.
@@TheSpacePlaceYT huh? that was twince, eror is the one who uberbugged across the map
@@Dolphinio it was Ors who uberbugged
As someone that has spent several thousand hours playing tmnf, I love seeing others whom have never played trackmania enjoy your content too.
It must feel sooo good to see your car floating directly towards the finish line. Such a rush as it all develops slowly in front of you. I can't think of any speed run/world record situations that develop quite like that.
I don't even play the game, but still watch Wirtual's content because it entertains me, and I'm glad that I clicked on this video.
Because what Ors did truely amazed me, even though I'm not part of the Tm community.
What a legend, and what a good video Wirtual
wouldnt be surprised if wirtual's videos are more popular than the games thrmselves lmao
2:05 wirtual : "the map is only left turn and jumps"
2:04 the car : * take a right turn *
A turn counts as > 89° XD
@@Caterblock like globaloids claiming straight lines are curved 🤣
@@Caterblock i think you're right, but he's still "turning left" or?

WOW!
I've never heard of you, this game, or any of these players. Your video was So good, you made the story compelling.. SO WELL DONE! truly a great job of making the subject approachable, not getting into the weeds, using great edits and gameplay to help a novice be able to watch and see what was going on, and _GET_ it... well done!
It's unbelievable to imagine that thousands of people have grinded this map for over 14 years. That's commitment!
I’ve never played track mania but I once saw a video on LSD where people were jumping from floor to ceiling in an insane labyrinth of a track. The game is so fast paced and cool to watch. THEN add in your amazing commentary and content, I can’t stop watching your channel.
If you want to play it, Trackmania Nations Forever is free on steam.
@@anirobrien7004 I’ll download it tonight! Thanks man!
@@anirobrien7004 and tm 2020 aswell
@@dodonub4956 I don't have a good pc for it sadly!
@@anirobrien7004 yea it can be hard for some older pieces to handle, but thankfully nations is still a great game and can be played on almost everything :)
Being a Korean Trackmania player myself, huge respect for Twince and Hardtack!
Damn just yesterday lemmino posted a banger of a video and now wirtual !
The Sweden vs Norway battle still lives on here on UA-cam
Thanks for the heads up buddy :D
im expecting to one day see a full series of "how (all levels) was broken"
By the time he has all of that made we will be years further so he can just start doing sequels hahaha
I think this videos are so enticing even though many of the ppl who watch them dont play the game because, first, its a pretty simple game, its just racing, anyone can understand it, but i think we love learning about this will and commitment, its sort of heartwarming to see how far we as humans can go not only at an individual level but as a community too.
This is not just a world record run, its the history of thousands of attemps by a lot of ppl to push the limit, to go further.
Forget history I'm stunned by watching these players determination. Salute and a thumps up to you for making such incredible videos.
Twince is so unlucky, sat turtled in the finish for like 2 seconds
Your videos are such a wonderful love letter to this gaming community. I've never played Trackmania or even tried speedrunning anything, but videos like yours really communicate the passion behind these players in a beautiful way. Truly incredible work!
for the people who set these records this must be such a nice feeling to have their "story" and achievements written in stone with these videos fomr wirtual tho
pretty proud of the Slovak guy who did the nino’s shortcut (41:45), its nice to see someone from the same country
🇸🇰
And Wirtuals storytelling make
all his videos often more intense than a good movie.
I just spent another 40 minutes watching this. Great video.
What I like most about these runs is that it brings people from all corners of the world together, sharing every bit of detail in order to improve the record, no matter who improves it.
It's a kind of selflessness you don't find in many competitive (e-)sports.
everything in this video is absolutely insane, can't even imagine the amount of work it took to create this
I love these videos. Never played trakmania, but your breakdowns on tracks and W/R are amazing
your editing is just... brilliant. with each of these slowmos i feel like i'm entering some sort of dreamscape, it's surreal and amazing
It’s weird to hear him say “Raizo got this run” instead of “Hefest got this run”
I love the song you use for the 'final' record in these videos. It's so hopeful and inspiring and fits the mood for the videos so well.
At first I thought it was a 10 min video. Got 6 minutes in and saw the time. Thought yeah probably will not finish this. But this was surprisingly intresting to watch and somewhat satisfying as well. Really well made!
love the video. it feels incredible after all that happened, remembering every step and every cut. its like having seen a lifetime of a map.
the only thing i missed in the video, was the 2021 F-9 TAS by Alexander B. wouldve been a really good ending to the story. but nonetheless very well made documentary! respecting the effort and love u put in these. ♥
I have never played Trackmania and I'm not really interested in racing games but these videos are so professional, entertaining and fun to watch that I'm always very glad, when one of your videos pops up in my recommended.
Dude I'm on a spree watching these documentaries and I've even never played trackmania. Also one thing that drives me crazy is how I can recognize most of the iconic music tracks you use and how tastefully you use them.
This is quality stuff, thank you.
I've watched so many of Wirtual's videos and still haven't played a second of the game.. he makes it so interesting
Ayyyy I've never thought I'd see the Korean, my own country's flag flying on a Wirtual's video, at least before 2022! Thank you for the documentation and congratulations to Twince for the feat :D
EDIT: and also to Hardtack! :O
the shortcuts pulled off in this vid are stuff Id expect from a speed racer movie.
This is the story of Wirual, doing a superb video.
I've never played Trackmania and this video still made it feel nostalgic. well made
"On (date), (name) got this run" is one of the greatest attention catchers i've ever heard. You really made some unique and amazingly captivating storytelling videos i've ever seen, based on a "basic" video game there'll ever be. The information and added context and evidence are so satisfying.
I love how both Hardtack and Twince got records in the long run that’s fantastic! ❤️
I very rarely do a jaw drop reaction to videos. But 28:19 it made me do it, amazing video, history, determination by players, and so much more. A great inspiration too for many people to challenge what seems impossible. And thank you Wirtual for documenting this, in your own way and style!
@@RitaTheCuteFox u alright?
@@OchaFauzan01 bro idk what happened he told his entire life story
@@RitaTheCuteFox do you realize that humans are not TAS
@@X-Ter yes? i was simply stating there's an ridiculous amount of unused potential, even for humans. obviously doing a constant chain of uber bugs is nowhere near humanly possible but you can easily shave of a couple seconds of the human runs. i'm just saying as a longterm tm player i don't understand how they made these simple mistakes after playing the map thousands of times... its not like he had no time to react, he was literally in the air for a couple of seconds with a clear direction of where he was heading. why do you land there and decide to do a full turn around? its pretty stupid even while being nervous.
i got into trackmania yesterday because of you thanks!
In my opinion my favorite words by this legend are, "____ got this run"
Got a lot of RWhiteGoose vibes from this vid and especially from that phrase!
I played TMN ESWC & Forever as a kid. I was not a veeery good player, my thing was more to create maps in the editor (I think I have an old backup with the maps). Although I never thought that the community of these games would be so big, I rather thought that they were a couple of games that not many people knew unfortunately. Thanks to your videos I find out that this is not the case, and after watching almost all your documentaries, now it made me want to play again, and complete the campaign for the first time! I downloaded TMNF (Steam) and I only need to get a gold medal on the red and black maps.
Thank you Wirtual for giving me back a little piece of my childhood !!
I've never played TM in my life, doubt I ever will but I found Wirtual by accident and now can't stop watching his videos and have subbed on twitch too!
Wirtual have outdone himself with the montages of multiple runs and different angels in this video. Awesome video!
This video is a gift that keeps on giving. I want to comment on why but I don't want to ruin a single second of this masterpiece for anyone. If you get recommended this and don't know who Wirtual is or what TrackMania is, I strongly suggest investing your time in this video! Great work mate!
I love the sax piece you tend to use for the climax of the videos. It's so nostalgic and beautiful.
3:02 me: *giggling in french to Pticon knowing it's a slang for smartass or lildouche*
I forgot about the track and did not know its name, but you making this video has brought back some nostalgia for me.
i still remember some of the barrage of clips i've seen while playing tm
“He got this run”
*En aften ved Svanefossen playing in the background*
Don't why but I'm just sitting back marathoning a bunch of videos from 3 years ago about a game I've never played, but I'm loving it
Never played one single TrackMania game, but your vids are so good, and the speedrunning comunity of TM is so dedicated it gets me emotional.
I love how some of the players have ridiculous name, some of your french fans probably laughed at the guy named "Pticon"
en effet...
I though it was called Rammsteain after the german band, where the car would maybe do a signature movement of theirs? It makes more sence now.
@@jonathananker9671 True I guess thats what most people think. Let me edit that in the comment :)
I really love these kind of videos that Wirtual does
Fantastic video as usual. Love the timeline of the discovery of shortcuts, the attempts and completions of said shortcuts, and the presentation of the track as a whole.
I don’t even play track mania, yet this is some of the most interesting and fascinating speed run history ever
Thank You for making these super-fun videos :D
