That Skar amp probably wasn’t getting enough power fam that’s why you seeing an improvement with that 3k
If your power wire is getting hot enough to melt sound deadener in the trunk, then you need bigger wire. Your current draw may be exceeding the tolerance of the cable. Hopefully that wire is OFC copper; would hate to see you loose such an awesome ride. Otherwise, good setup.

Taramps is a great amp from what I’ve seen but if you put in on that box it will eventually let you down also from vibration
Not the bass model
All amps will die if they're mounted to the box, the vibration from the box causes the capacitors to come loose sending a power surge to the power distribution circuits thus killing the amp.
So happy I found this vid bc the same issue happened to me and I was about to buy a skar amp but just ordered the same one you got , you da man!!!

This amp really needs bigger guage power imput terminals like the 5k 8k. That Car and its paint job exceptional. Sound dampen that trunk . Use the home depot stuff Way cheaper. Peel and Seal.

I did not do a upgrade under the hood and I was running a second battery, but I don’t have a isolator on it it’s connected directly to the battery running off the alternator.
Put an isolator on it. It will help with current draw and power issues. 2 years later 😅

Been using Taramps HD 3 now bass 3k on first new CVX didn't last a week now ilonn2 12 inch Punishers wrinkles my truck roof no complaints here using an epicenter helped but this amp pushed pretty good for size

@@wi11power82 the amp.. just ordered one for $230 shipped coming from a sound digital 1600.1 Evo. The sound digital was 2x the price and about 2/3rds of the power. So I'm hoping this thing lasts

@@wi11power82 I'm running 2 American Bass XFLs in a custom ported box. So my current amp does about 2200rms at 14 volts. And the taramps does like 3300 at 14. I'm hoping my subs can take it but from what I see online and what other people are pushing them too they should easily handle it

Here in Detroit, Michigan it's a BIGGGG NO NO to own a $80,000 Hellcat vehicle living at an apartment complex. You would at least need a house with a garage if you lived here or they will challenge you to get it.
Bro that’s your first problem right there your scar 4500 went out because you bolted it to the box that’s what you don’t want to do the vibration is too much it breaks the components on the board loose from there soldering
so i never mount amps on boxes because if i want to take my subs out a have to unwire the amp as well but the audio shop did that and the box so big it really didn't have room nowhere else but thanks now i know another reason to not do it

Thank you for NOT mounting the Tara on the sub box. Over time the vibration+heat will cause the failure of an amp. The wood insulation strip is a PRO move. I can tell you do know about electricity.....Have you ever seen the Heavenly Blue Light after the BBBOOOOMMMM? Sure you have, every electrician has danced with the 220v AC Devil......LMAO
I have seen a few good flashes 😅 I’m an electrician in the Navy so yea it happens a lot and that’s what helps me run my system different because I have been installing amps since I was like 16 years old so thank you so much for seeing the few things I do differently for what they really are ✊🏾🙏🏾💯

Amazing build but that rp 4500 does way more power then that bass3k rp4500 does over 3k at 2ohm if your wired at 1ohm your not staying at 1ohm due to impedance rise only good thing about that bass3k is you can wire it to half ohm to get more power awesome build tho oh and if your wires are getting that hot that isnt good I'd get 0 gauge ofc from a reputable company cuz that can catch your car on fire no joke remember fuses

Lil amp 😆.i got the taramps 3k smart does work . Never Mount your amps on the back of the box , it's just way too much vibration better off putting them on the back of your seats I bet that's why that RP 4500 went out.subs needs push back lol lol .stick 2 the donuts in the parking lot jk ..switch 2 skar zvx 15s u have the room buddy

I have same amp...but it clips probably because I need more alternator on my 08 g8 gt....I have 2nd battery also....did you run 0 guage to 4 reducers at the amp?
Bad idea mounting to the box rattles Amp apart!!
Dynomate your trunk to stop the rattle for a much cleaner sound...

@@tizvch know the skar is a 2ohm so the inside needs to be bigger the bass 3k is briged already so know need for extra mechanicals get it got it good and they stay cool I beat mines all day never gets hot!

I did find a flaw tho I've seen before and idk why they do it. But the power wire size is way to small on the terminal. So so that's why it was getting hot. Either find a different terminal to replace it it somehow or do an adapter. Aint doing no short cuts. And I might need to get a fire extinguisher honestly to go in my whip lol

I just bought this amp. I've hooked up a few systems. But I still feel like no know nothing lol. But anyways aside from the big 3 or 2nd battery or an aftermarket alt what do I need to do so the bad shit won't happen. These amps can get down and run good just much as I don't. But im gonna beef everything electrical wise. Yes they get down but the most sensitive amp I've ever seen. I need to know please lol.
Man nothing wrong with the amp I have one I use 4 gauge wire is just fine for this amp you can use 0 but buy some amp reducers! Also if you have a stock alternator buy you a at least a 3500 watt battery to put in the back to push some juice to the amp remember it’s 100 watts per 100 watts so the battery that you put in the back has to be that wattage because the amp is power hungry but otherwise that MF will make 4000 watts if you give it some real juice but the the 3500 watt battery will be fine and enough power for you because the amp will not catch fire will not let you down I beat the block up so hard I should be in jail! But as for right now I’m team taramp until they prove me wrong I’m about to get the 5k after I get another battery!

not hating but you dunno how to set a amp lol the bass boost on that amp only boost what the frequency is set to so its kinda pointless... also if you would do double 0 to the back big 3 and dual inputs in the amp she would bang way harder!!!! i went from the 3k to 5k on a box tuned to 32hz and man she works!!!
