Thanks for another great video. Question for you is in regards to setting up LPF/HPF for a 4 channel amp when the deck has these options as well. Which do you set up? One or both? I assume if you set both up there could end up some loss as the deck reads what frequency to be sent and the amp reads another.
If you have a legit deck with good preamp adjustments of you filters then use that. Do not use both. Try to keep the signal as clean and pure as possible
@@NextLevelCarAudio Thanks!! I have a Pioneer AVH-X5800BHS and it offers crossover options for fronts, rears, and sub. So i think I will stick to those crossovers rather than the amplifier LPF/HPF crossovers

Great video, I may have missed it, but how were you able to measure 80Hz on LPF? Just wondering how I would be able to measure the hz? Thank you so much
You guesstimate “about” where the knob should be in proportion to the markings. Filters on your amp have db/octave roll offs so they do not need to be exact. Just close.
I have messed with these amps for years and never thought to look up what those knobs do lmao. Well explained and my sound is going to sound kickn after this
Thanks for doing the 4 channel amp👍 I currently have only been running mono block class D amps for subs . But I got tierd of my bass drowning out my mids and highs. So I got 4 DS 18pro tw120s for highs. And will be exchanging my door and rear deck mid range speakers next. But I was little nervous about setting the crossover for a 4 channel amp to run them. I've always only had a mono block amps. So thanks for the video. I feel more confident as to setting my amp now. Thanks man👊👍😎💯
Bass Boost helps allow those who use sealed boxes. Without it my single 10 would be short and snappy which is great but it won't hit the low notes. So bringing that up just a tad on my CT-SOUNDS 1000.1D ran to a 1ohm wired duel 2ohm CT-SOUNDS Tropo 10in in a 3/4" mdf sealed enclosure and it allows me to hit those lower frequencies like a 12in Subwoofer could. Personally tested the differences between the two. Very pleased with the results in that situation. Completely understandable that it would not be needed for the majority who use vented, bandpass, and other forms of enclosure besides sealed.
@@NextLevelCarAudio you pretty much answered them in another video. maybe now you can save my setup!! Due to Being lazy, unclear with instructions, and not double checking my wife’s perches. I am stuck with a handicapped system. 1. Can I use an over powered amp if I set my gain correctly? future proofing if possible. 2. If so how much Over can I go? So Can I Use a 700 watt rms amp with a 250 watt rms sub and 4x45 watt rms interiors? 3.Should I get a 5 channel amp Or keep my sub separate? 4. What is the limit before I need to think of upgrading my power? 5. 1amp vs 2 will I need to upgrade power to run two amps even if I do not reach the power limit from my previous question? 6. Will 4 6.5”at 45watt rms and a 12” at 250watt produce a balanced sound? 7. What is a balanced ratio?
1) Yes, see one of my videos where I hook up V a 300watt sub to my 12,000 watt amp. 2) Sky is the limit. 3) 5 channels are great. Makes install easier. 4) anything over 1,500 watts you need to start thinking of extra battery or Ho alt. I’d do big-3 with any size build tho. 5) No 6) should sound nice as long as you have your filters set up right. 7) creating harmony between your front, rear and sub stages.
Well, the good quality 4 channels do like my crescendo symphony S4’s. If not he can just HPF everything worst case scenario. Mids HPF at 125-150 ish and tweets HPF at 2-3k ish

So glad I found this I had my amp so improperly tuned now that I tuned it the way you explained my system just pounds now got my bass boost on the amp right off now
Hey man, I really appreciate the video man Thank you for taking the time to help us beginners. Right now, I'm running two 500-watt Zappos on 2 Memphis, twelve 12 600\1200. You don't know how hard I've been struggling with this. One reason is I just put a new Tesla style head unit in my car, and it has DSP. And I was really struggling with hz and crossovers and stuff like that. But that's about to change. I'm about to put 4 10s in my SUV. Cadillac. And I really want to upgrade my system all the way around the car. So im in the process of buying an amp and speakers now, like right now I'm gonna do the mid, the highs and everything. So, I've been studying a lot of videos, man, and you really explained it well. And I appreciate your time. Another one of my concerns is Upgrading my power in my car, like through batteries and. And The alternator I see that you have batteries set up. That was really nice. I've never seen that. But I have been checking into the batteries. They're definitely not cheap. Haha, I'm almost certain that you're running a bigger alternator than your OEM. So let's get basic right here. You Upgraded your power based off what you're actually running in your truck, like speaker. Amps Etcetera Etcetera? But this DSP that's built into this radio really giving me a lot of trouble. Bass is where it's not supposed to be. Too much base volume onn these speakers. Changing it when you turn on and off the radio. It's really getting on my nerves. I wish I could just take it off the radio. Maybe I can. I ask the guy. Alright, man, I tried to cover a lot. I would like to hear any feedback you would have. Thanks. Have a great day. Ohh yeah. I just learned a couple months ago about. How the gain is not a volume. Booster or bass booster. I did not know that all those years. Saying this because I'm going to watch your video. That you're talking about. about gain
Wow I'm actually glad I watched, I already knew and set my stuff up by ear but never knew how the bass boost works like you said most people mistake it for boosting all the bass which I understand now that it doesn't. Interesting about the bass knob thing too I have heard that you get a cleaner sound without it but I still use one
I could be wrong but I'm assuming you work at or own a shop? It's always refreshing to see a shop owner or shop worker who has good brands and knows what they are doing.

Great video. As a musician who understands gain staging, and sound in general, but has limited knowledge in car audio, your videos are the most intuitive I have found. Very well done. I have one question. How are you filling between the 200hz lowest range mids and the 100hz highest range subs? I’m guessing a set of mid bass speakers? From my understanding, a decent set of 6.5” component speakers will run from as high as 20,000+ hz to as low as 40hz. Listening to your logic , I would assume a crossover at 100-120 hz would be good (I like 10” subs).
Wat if you have x9's in rear and 6.4 2 ways in the front. How do you set your 4 way amp to these types of speakers? Absolutely 1 of the best tutorials on setting your amp settings up I'm seen this far! Good job bud really!!! 👊💯💯💯😎
@@NextLevelCarAudioI have the same question with a similar setup. 4-6.5 in the doors 2-6x9 in rear 1-12" sub 1-4 channel amp 1-mono amp. Do I turn on HPF for all 4 channels for front? Then just LPF for sub?
Hey dude I'm new and so is my equip. Do what you said is set LPF at 80hz.turn off bass boost. Gain is off all this is on the sub side. I have a bass knob should I have it turned about half way up or 3/4? Thanks for the easy to understand video!!!

@@NextLevelCarAudio thanks much love form Grenada 🇬🇩🇬🇩🇬🇩🇬🇩
Awesome!
Nice! Yeah, That’s what I’d do.
U learn somethin new everyday I pretty good at tuning my amps to ear cause I’ve been doin this for 16 years but the way u broke this down was impeccable
Thanks man
Great video, I may have missed it, but how were you able to measure 80Hz on LPF? Just wondering how I would be able to measure the hz? Thank you so much
You guesstimate “about” where the knob should be in proportion to the markings. Filters on your amp have db/octave roll offs so they do not need to be exact. Just close.
I have messed with these amps for years and never thought to look up what those knobs do lmao. Well explained and my sound is going to sound kickn after this
Hell yeah
Thanks for doing the 4 channel amp👍 I currently have only been running mono block class D amps for subs . But I got tierd of my bass drowning out my mids and highs. So I got 4 DS 18pro tw120s for highs. And will be exchanging my door and rear deck mid range speakers next. But I was little nervous about setting the crossover for a 4 channel amp to run them. I've always only had a mono block amps. So thanks for the video. I feel more confident as to setting my amp now. Thanks man👊👍😎💯
Awesome! Thanks for the feedback! Glad I could help.
I'd buy your AGM batts depending on shipping or if you're within a few hour driving distance of NE OH.
I’m up in Washington state. Kinda far. I’m sure shipping won’t be cheap lol. Just waiting on my limitless cyber 12k to come in.

You explain so much but leave me with so many more questions.
Like?
5) No
6) should sound nice as long as you have your filters set up right.
7) creating harmony between your front, rear and sub stages.
@@NextLevelCarAudio got it👍👍 thanks bro
You bet
Thanks again bro...👍👍👍🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹...
man you dont know how much you helped me with my 4 channel i just bought.
Awesome! Thanks for the feedback. Any questions I’m here to help
12:40 4 channel setup
I really appreciate your video, great explanation of how to tune amplifiers. Best I've seen!
I got a 4 channel, 4 6½" mids and 2 tweeters. Can i use channels 1 and 2 for the tweets and channels 3 and 4 for all 4 mids?
Absolutely, that’s what I’d do!
Well, the good quality 4 channels do like my crescendo symphony S4’s. If not he can just HPF everything worst case scenario. Mids HPF at 125-150 ish and tweets HPF at 2-3k ish
@@NextLevelCarAudio i can i tell if its at 125/150ish? HPF goes from 50hz - 5000hz. I noticed it does 2 full turns aak-201.4d
@@NextLevelCarAudio its switched to 2 channel not 4 channel
@@NextLevelCarAudio sorry HPF 20hz - 5000hz
Never knew what the LPF was for 😂🤣 always heard to turn it all the way up, now subsonic i never really messed with it, but good thing I leave it to the pros.
This video was extremely helpful though I really appreciate it
Thanks man. Anytime 😎
Looks affordable
Lol, right?
😂💀😂 bro i said screw the video but seen this as i clicked back and had to let you know that was funny asf
Already knew all of this but i find these type of vids entertaining
So glad I found this I had my amp so improperly tuned now that I tuned it the way you explained my system just pounds now got my bass boost on the amp right off now
Although your amps are a bit fancier than what I'm using this is what I needed for a perfect tune!
Awesome 🤩
This is by far THE BEST EXPLANATION EVER!!!!! Thank you brother👑💯🎯👑💯🎯
Thanks for the feedback man. Much appreciated!
Dude I’m a new asf to this but I understand so damn well what your saying best Information by far and I haven’t even set the system up yet
Awesome. Thanks man
Best explanation on youtube! Very beginner friendly. Great Job man
Thanks man! Appreciate the feedback!
He explained the he'll out of this. I totally understand it now.
Awesome
Amazing video this helped me learn exactly what everything was for and how to use it
Glad to hear it!
I use to own a shop. Now I just do it for fun and share the knowledge I learned over the years.
Thanks alot man. You feed me with more crystal clear knowledge
Thank you so much. I have watched so many videos and found this to be BY FAR the best. Keep up the great content.
Thanks for help in from Sweden we dont have no one who doing videos about this

best explanation on the internet, thank you sir
Appreciate the feedback!
Very informative, thank you from the audio heavens 💯👍🏽

i LOVE the SLAVE MASTER SETTING so much....
This the best video explaining this I’ve seen
Thanks for the feedback man!
Thank you for reaffirming what i felt was correct, excluding the db.
Amazing video! Explained everything really clear.
Thanks. Much appreciated
Listening to your logic , I would assume a crossover at 100-120 hz would be good (I like 10” subs).
you got it! that would be the best way ;)
Wat if you have x9's in rear and 6.4 2 ways in the front. How do you set your 4 way amp to these types of speakers? Absolutely 1 of the best tutorials on setting your amp settings up I'm seen this far! Good job bud really!!! 👊💯💯💯😎
Thanks for the feedback! Are you running any subs with this setup?
@@NextLevelCarAudioI have the same question with a similar setup.
4-6.5 in the doors
2-6x9 in rear
1-12" sub
1-4 channel amp
1-mono amp.
Your gain should not be off. It should be set y to match the input preamp voltage sensitivity coming into the amp.
Thanks for making this video man. Wasn't sure where to put lpf. Online says 80 but didn't seem right. Will adjust to 100 and see if it sounds different. Running 2 12s 32hz box
Awesome!
