I get that it would be easier to run larger power cable the whole way from the battery to the amp without a reducer but one thing to remember is the reducer is not the only bottle neck. In most amps the traces on the board, filters and fuses if used, MOSFET legs, and the toroidal transformer all use much less copper and handle the current just fine. If you have an amp with repeatable results(back to back runs close to the same power), I'd like to see a video testing different wire sizes and/or reducers and fuses for both power losses and heat generated in the cables. Also, I believe the super low capacitance in both the power supply and high voltage rails in this amp is what yields poor test results in the Dynamic Burst test. The low capacitance can only hold a few milliseconds of power at 3000 watts and a for a 40Hz burst you would ideally want enough capacitance to push full wattage for at least 25 milliseconds.
the end bit is really important. It isn't always about power and i personally appreciate the fact that you mentioned the quality of the bass it produced and the fact that it could be loud in a daily boomer. keep up the great content BigD. Patiently waiting on the in-car multi-amp test.
Yeah, it made me keep looking. No way I wanna listen to fans peeking in and and drowning a couple dB of my treble. That's not necessary. And when he said the amp itself was not able to keep up with fast music? I thought amps weren't supposed to color the sound or do anything except provide power so if it doesn't provide power in a manner that keeps up with fast music, that's a deal breaker for me for sure because I'm very genre diverse.
Taramps gained alot of respect for me when they showcased how their amps were made. Almost All parts made in house which was cool to see their process. I would buy from them but I think they do need to listen to some suggestions like you said with adding 1/0 gave inputs knowing thats what most people run in their car. A little displeased with the fan noise...hopefully they can solve that issue and the upper bass notes not being totaly there..But overall not bad.
6:12 the efficiency is better because the toroïdal is not providing voltage for powering 2 ohms. Lower is the voltage output, better will be the efficiency. Thoroïdal transformer can provide here a middle range voltage for 2 ohms version, and lower voltage for 1 ohm version. For to have the same power on higher impedance, the thoroïdal need to work with more secondary turns, and provide more voltage, against more resistive secondary turns and load, and it flows from it a effeciency loss. By the way, when the secondary coil is significant, the magnetic coupling between both are less perfect due to the resistive effect of the wire at high frequency switching. This ability to overcome the higher impedance needs more energy (and you pay it with loss), and you will find it by the loss of efficiency. For to talk roughly, more higher is the power on a higher resistive load, more higher is the loss. We can quote too than efficiency can decrease if the thoroidal size is lower, for the same power.

Great vid as always , still scratching my head as to why it around 100 bucks more and less efficient than the hd 3k. If I had to buy one I would buy the hd even though it isn't specifically made for low hz frequency.

Why not throw a couple 16 volts in parallel with your bank as well to keep the voltage up around 14.5-15 volts during heavy tests? And just charge them separately while not in use. Maybe have a heavy duty switch/breaker between the main bank and the 16s so you don’t have to unstrap them every time you need to charge or when their not needed for a test.

Thanks for such a informative review of this amplifier. I'm not new to car audio but was unfamiliar with this brand of amps. I'm planning on running this Tara amp for home theater on 2 -12 " subs in separate sealed boxes with a Ac to DC power converter. Do you think the Power Max 120 amp converter is enough to safely power the tara amp 3000k? Keep the great videos coming.
I think someone forgot to Q&A that AMP. Even with the smaller blocks for power, the fit and finish is horrible? It even looks like the barrels inside the power inputs are of some very low grade materials. Take a look and see if it is just me or not, but it looks like they could break off and slide out? Is it me?
Yes sir and I got the bass 3k and only got a 55 hour agm battery and that shit hit so now I’m in the process of upgrading my both batteries and then get a alternator because if you give it enough juice like 16v you would be very happy I’m talking over 4000 watts but I’m also about to get the bass 8k!
Another super video 👍👍 I know what I see and understand new technology. But I still cannot for the life of me wrap my head around the output numbers vs the gut shots. What guts lol there's not a lot in there to be putting out that much power. What was there like 6 output devices ?
Hey sir Quick question how come some taramps are dark gray and some are white but there wattage is the Exact same... are they Two different models or what?
I have the Sony XM-C2000 6-channel amp, do you have one to test or know the actual power on this old school amp ?? is this amp worth instaling today in a SQ setup?
How does something with those internals put the same power as something with more transformers and capacitors? Looks like the same board from a 1k or smaller.
I noticed that you said It didn't have a lot of woofer control with tight bass? so would it be better to run this amp I'm combination with other amps? two on that amp. and a more controlled amp on more subs? what size speakers would you say the best low frequency would respond to?
Love that you specified that the amp didnt produce a controlled tight sound with rock drums. Reason rnough not to buy this amp as that is what i mainly listen to.
with the high voltage caps inside that convert the power into 3k, would the inputs terminal be sufficient? or would the amp draw be the reason? thanks and love the vids!

Awesome video. Thanks you helping us out a lot.
Would of been cool to see at what point on the dyno, the clip indicator lights up.
I’ll try to do this moving forward. Will also have a scope showing waveform
QUESTION: I have a Taramps Bass 8K 1-ohm which I want to try using daily at 1/2 ohm so that I won't need to buy a bigger amp >> T. Bass 15K. Do you think the 8K @ 0.5 ohm would give me 12K to 15K? Thanks.
Only if you want to replace it soon. I wouldn’t run Taramps below rated ohm load
I got the hd 3000 2ohm 2 skar 10s dual 4ohm run at 2 Ohm is it better to get bass 3k instead I'm having trouble with stock electrical not enough I ground battery added 4 gauge ground under hood ran trunk 4gauge second battery copper wires would cap or better battery bank of caps like the exposed ones amazon 50 bucks or one big cap if anyone has help advice trying to keep from just throwing money at it I really don't want a 400 alternator bill I just got amp so I can return and go different route, recommendation? skars are 1200 max 500 rms I believe
Im so glad Im not the only 1 terrified of these amps , Its just too many videos of them being barbeque grills
Too many videos? You mean one and in a 500kw setup in Brasil. 0 in first world countries
Amazing that through a 4 gauge input it can still produce that much power. That thing is sucking a shake through a coffee strirring straw. Big D, Good thing you had the banks right on the other side of the door. That thing wouldn't be able to produce that power in a car, for very long. For real, run 4 gauge from front to back and see how fast it heats up LOL. Taramps hard to beat for the buck. Keep them coming, D 👍
Just run a reducer and it'll be fine
LOL the ice cube sample video from boyz in the hood!! As far as the loud fan, just tell ya girl it's the turbo..
👈😜👍
Wilson audio labs what do you think about running this amplifier at half an ohm, and I would highly appreciate if you were to put it on the dyno on half ohm
I feel your gettn closer to testing stetsom amps like the 3k 5k and the one I have the 6k. I ran my Orion dual power and grounds to it just fine I’m ditching my xs3400d for the 7500d I already have a 7500d under my hood and an U.S 390 amp Alt. Like most new things that are different and possibly better then the norm or what’s been around forever I think the BraZ audio movement is coming soon or in my case Already happened I’m ordering a 4 channel and a smaller mono for highs and mid bass. Oh adding a bank of XS caps to keep everything good. Your the GO To guy keep it up dude man bro chief!!
Not sure about Stetsom honestly. Thanks though!
Well that stung a bit. Well I’m happy with stetsom. Guess that’s all that matters.
Well that stung a bit. Well I’m happy with stetsom. Guess that’s all that matters.
Tyvm for all the tests you do Big D..Huge help! 🍺
I'm sticking with my Korean boards
Id rather see a big ol heavy Orion laying across instead of these hot glue guns!😂
The MD series destroys this bass series. Look up md1800 amp Dyno
Gotta love taramps
Goodnight williston audio are any of the taramps good and is stetsom better or should i look for something else but looking for a 3k watts for db drive g2 10
What u know about a blow dryer there bigd
My wife uses one so I know what they sound like 😂
😂😂
It's like the put that board in a different smaller amps chassis and slapped new stickers on it, which is probably exactly what they did.. I'm still staying away from Brazilian bass amps, I may use one for mids & highs someday, but how is the sound quality on there full range amps? I currently run a deaf bonce 200.4d and would like an CLASS AB amp sometime maybe even the deaf bonce 180.4ab I just want quality sound from my mids
Old school is the way to go.
I’ve had one for over a year and punish it every day all day. Not one problem and it hits like Mike Tyson.
👌😝👍
I was really curious about the price I'm glad I watched until the very end
They are on eBay for $290 or at least they were. Check link in video description
Is oane on offer up here local for 125
@@Purosanluispotosi you can buy them brand new for 90
Rosey Rose were or wath website
@@Purosanluispotosi look on Google
Would a extra battery be sufficient for this or would you need to go with a high powered alternator?
So which do I run this to my 2 2 ohm auduiopipe bd’s ?? I have an extra battery and I’m gonna do the big 3 upgrade, Will I still need more power ?
Thanks for such a informative review of this amplifier. I'm not new to car audio but was unfamiliar with this brand of amps. I'm planning on running this Tara amp for home theater on 2 -12 " subs in separate sealed boxes with a Ac to DC power converter. Do you think the Power Max 120 amp converter is enough to safely power the tara amp 3000k? Keep the great videos coming.
So at 2ohm its putting out 1811 rms or only watts? If its only watts then at 2ohm what would be the rms rating?
Hi can I use this amplifier to run 3 pioneer 3004SPL which is 1000 watt rms each, it will be about 0.8 ohms.
Some please help....I bought 2 12 inch scar vxf 4ohm subs .they are rated 1500 watts rms each. Which amp would you recommended I get?
I think someone forgot to Q&A that AMP. Even with the smaller blocks for power, the fit and finish is horrible? It even looks like the barrels inside the power inputs are of some very low grade materials. Take a look and see if it is just me or not, but it looks like they could break off and slide out? Is it me?
Whats the difference between a 3000k and the 3000MD which would push out more bass
i cant wait to you recieve the SUB AND BOX FROM.US . UR GOIN TOO.LOVE IT
Hey, If I turn the gain down to put out about 1500watts will I need a better charging sistom
So can I wire a dvc 2 ohm q class 15 to a final 4 ohm and get good power ? It's only rated 600 to 1200 sub
I just brought a taramps 3000hd but it's not work for highs is this for bass only
Yes sir and I got the bass 3k and only got a 55 hour agm battery and that shit hit so now I’m in the process of upgrading my both batteries and then get a alternator because if you give it enough juice like 16v you would be very happy I’m talking over 4000 watts but I’m also about to get the bass 8k!
Another super video 👍👍
I know what I see and understand new technology. But I still cannot for the life of me wrap my head around the output numbers vs the gut shots. What guts lol there's not a lot in there to be putting out that much power. What was there like 6 output devices ?
can i use it to 4-ohm ?? and how much watts RMS ?
1800 rms at 4ohms
@@coryfreeman4980 as the video i see 1088 at 4 ohms..
On point 💯
Does anyone know where I can buy this reducer that’s shown in this video ?
quick question, if i were to supply a subwoofer 300 watts rms that’s only rated for 250 watts rms (but 500 max) would it harm the sub in any way?
PurpleSkunkYT no
Hey sir Quick question how come some taramps are dark gray and some are white but there wattage is the Exact same... are they Two different models or what?
dark for old model and silver for newer model
Close to 3000 CLEAN watts for cheap! In a class off it’s own
So this amp would run the new American bass half 12's??
I have the Sony XM-C2000 6-channel amp, do you have one to test or know the actual power on this old school amp ?? is this amp worth instaling today in a SQ setup?
hi just a ?
what crossover and equalizer do you recommend on you to use with taramp bass 3k
You need a system designer to assist based on all of your components and your goals. No simple answer here
Love the Ice Cube sound bite lol
Please try out the Helix G ONE sub amp. I have my suspicions.
What amp do recommend for 4 skar 8 evl's at 1 ohm
i have dual 1.5 speaker so how can the wattage be in 3 ohms ??
So what one is a better subwoofer amp. As far as the internals are.
Quick question, i have a Phoenix Gold amp and it has a selector nob for "hp" "lp" and "by"
Anyone know what "by" stands for?
Bypass meaning no crossover enabled
@@wal thanks!
Não entendi nada que você falou, só queria saber se você gostou do amplificador e se recomendaria ele
Thanks for another good one! Any chance for the HD10k?
Are they using wood peckers to make the holes for the terminals in the plastic?!?!?
Ouch! 😂
What are you doing with the Infinty when the new subwoofer comes in?
What infinity sub is that to handle that mean ass little amp?
How does something with those internals put the same power as something with more transformers and capacitors? Looks like the same board from a 1k or smaller.
Full bridge babu
I noticed that you said It didn't have a lot of woofer control with tight bass? so would it be better to run this amp I'm combination with other amps? two on that amp. and a more controlled amp on more subs? what size speakers would you say the best low frequency would respond to?
Love that you specified that the amp didnt produce a controlled tight sound with rock drums. Reason rnough not to buy this amp as that is what i mainly listen to.
What about the Taramps trio
You did the smart 3 and the 3k Bass
with the high voltage caps inside that convert the power into 3k, would the inputs terminal be sufficient? or would the amp draw be the reason? thanks and love the vids!
I have 2 12'' 600 Watts each Alpine should i used the Taramp's bass 3k or the Taramp's HD 3000 ? btw i might upgrade my subs soon what would you guys recommend me ? i would appreciated your help !.
Been running a HD3K for about a year now, and have a new MD3K in the closet for months. Supposebly the MD is more for bass too, but haven't heard it yet
The MD is a lot more powerful
@@wal so I've heard. That was my reasoning for buying. I've held out tho because I want to make a change to my box 1st tho. I'm currently running a 4" aero with my 12s, and tho I'm getting no port noise/chuffing at all, alot of ppl keep saying to go 6" and it'll sound better, so I want to change the port and hear the HD, then I'll swap to the MD.
Could the terminal situation most likely be because in Brazil the big systems that you find are all pro audio? The don’t use car subwoofers... they use Dj speakers like rcf, b&c, and ev...
Have you done a video where you take apart the bass amp and look at the terminals?
