    I’m almost half way through this episode and I can tell that the people she’s working with are getting frustrated with her. She should take herself out of the mortgage lending part of the process. If they want to buy, ask how much they want to buy and where. Ask if they are pre-approved yet. If they aren’t, have a lender that she can refer them to in order to get a better grasp on what the client can afford. Then, she can try to dial back their expectations from there (if needed) but the way she’s going, they will give up every time. That savings goal of almost 50% of their monthly income is really aggressive. She could look into programs to help them with closing costs. There’s just so much she can do differently. I hope she gains some more ideas from this interview.

    Loved this episode. As a growing entrepreneur myself, it can be easy to slip into the negative nancy mindset but taking that step and pushing past your beliefs is key. "It won't work unless you do" & you never know until you ask (Trin and her bf had responses she did not expect)! Hope she starts making some major changes soon! Great episode as always.

    I am from the North and have lived in ATL for several years. I came to this video from the sort of clickbait (for me 😉 ) title because I LOVE Atlanta and I'm defensive when some imply that ATL is bad for businesses. This sister seems to have challenges but appears to be more open to being accountable after the Hot Seat with David. I wish her much success. To others: don't blame ATL or any area for your failure. Take resposibility and you will overcome your so-called obstacles.

    Its the realness, the questions, answering of the questions that show where one may be operating from, based off of how you may think I appreciate this because we'll be afraid and blame everyone but self. I also appreciate how the ppl in the hot seat take constructive criticism. This is not what society wants for us please keep elevating us. dude is not a great listener. good speaker, but everyone would benefit from him engaging in active listening. The first thing she said was she was the agency manager and he fixated on her role as stand-in model and then he underscored that with his description of gatekeeping and implying that the issue was her not being chosen as a model when he could have given her advice about managing a modeling agency first.

    • @vaughn4820
      @vaughn4820 5 місяців тому +3

      @kameeks777 I understand what you're getting at. However, It didn't matter whether he focused on the manager role or not. She has not been very successful doing either. She needed gatekeeping clarified because she was using it wrong and as an excuse not to work. Hence why he went and broke down her mentality and not the actual job position she working in. Did a great job imo!

    She needs to take a consultative sales approach. If they're not ready you should be guiding them toward the ready. Have them pull their credit and take it to your preferred mortgage broker or loan officer and have them work with your prospect. Let the financial people keep them in the pipe and coach them toward the savings, credit and down payment aspect. Take control of the transaction. Team up with over professionals, set goals and niche down.

    Gatekeepers essentially manage access. Such as an executive assistant managing who gets access to the boss.
    Any situation where someone can pick and choose who gets access to a decision maker is a form of gatekeeping.
    Resume’ screening is also a form of gatekeeping which can be manual or electronic. The screening determines who’s going to make it to the next step.

    Does she know that there are also programs out there? Based upon how she's answering the questions, she has to work on working with her clients vs focusing on being realistic. She has to learn how to balance it without utterly destroying their hope altogether. They cant realistically afford a 5drm in their preferred area....ok ask them would they be open to another location. Its problem solving. She has to work that problem solving muscle.

    Nah this was a miss. 1) The realtors at the top know that you don't rely nor hound your friends for business. 2) Those in business should know referrals are the best things that happen, client retention is costly. Nothing beats referrals. 3) It's ill-advised to encourage boyfriends to purchase homes with gf's unless there's some sort of contract in place so if things go left its a little easier on both parties. 4) The best realtors won't play games, lie to you or sugar coat if your finances can't get you what you're requesting, be realistic and don't encourage lying to make people feel better. She needs a mentor and confidence. Best of luck!
