As an accountant, I am absolutely saying your advice is crazy to comingle funds! (Your words, not mine😊) Please don't do that, sir! Beginner or not. 2 separate businesses, 2 separate accounts.
Better advice would be to make time to understand your finances or invest in a solid bookkeeper.

I have to go back and watch the episode to remember the context, but one business can have multiple functions, products and services that all go into one account.
Lots of entrepreneurs do different things and create separate businesses for each thing they do and that’s not always necessary.
@RealSocialProof I agree in this aspect. Some do too much and create more businesses than necessary. but if the business has its own EIN, it should have a separate bank account.. or dissolve the businesses that are not needed.
I completely understood what you were trying to convey to him initially, but it was ill- advised info the way you stated it... and given many newbies watch, it could definitely cause confusion.

I personally think that David is neglecting to think of health from a holistic perspective. After all wealth is often referred to as health & wellness, and wellness is a holistic word. It refers to being well not only physically, but also mentally, spiritually, etc. Money/financial health means nothing without the other forms of health. Can’t have one without the other.
Those bank accounts that he set up, I just read about that in the Budgetnistas book.

Being healthy it's not simply in the measure of physical wellness. Healthy also turns into other realms of living.
For instance this show or podcast is specifically based on getting into a level of HIGH FINANCIAL HEALTH.
Health in all capacities of social, personal, spiritual, MENTAL and business life is the goal. NOT JUST PHYSICAL HEALTH.
The measure of success depends on a personal outlook and focal point of goals. If you're attacking the goals, overcoming the obstacles and doing it in a sustainable manner, that is your success. That is the Health being the Wealth...

Honestly don’t think telling him to consolidate business accounts, is good advice. Don’t want money from consulting and from the clothing brand, to be going into 1 account…. Love this series though
Thanks for your insight. I'm keeping the business accounts separate. I have since the show basically consolidated the funds from my personal accounts to just one personal.
I think one business can provide multiple functions graphic design and consulting. Not consolidating two seperate businesses into one bank account, but dissolving 1 and using one business for multiple functions. Just my 2 cents

5) Operating Business Account (if you manage well)
