The safarilands are durable and just as important provide positive retention for your weapon during active manuevers such as parachuting. And yes, quite a few people running other holsters have learned the hard way and had to pick thier weapon up off the ground. BTW, it's hard to look cool when you are scanning the ground for your pistol.

Awesome review brother! I've ran the ALS on my 226 on duty since 2007. When I switched to one that would take my surefire I did have one holster issue, not related to the ALS itself. Two times I've had a rock get into the bottom where I can't get the gun back into the holster due to the bottom being covered to protect the light. I wasn't able to get retention on the gun until doing said keg stand with marines. Again, zero issues due to the ALS. The traditional hood wouldn't engage in this scenario either. ALS is insanely fast and natural. I've converted at least 40 officers to the ALS. Keep up the solid review work. Great audio, picture, and clarity in your delivery. Thank you!
I'm thinking full out flannel kit now. Matching helmet cover, plate carrier, chest rig, holster, sling. Big Daddy GT would be straight pimpin' in his Camry...WITH FLANNEL SEAT COVERS.
The only problem I've ever had with the Safariland holsters is once a piece of brass went into my holster and prevented me from reholstering my gun. But I agree that keeping your light protected is the higher priority.
Being a bit of an old timer I haven't made the move to red dots on my pistols. But I did keep my safariland triple retention holsters from my LE days. If I ever open carried I would use them. But I don't. Good video. Love the jabs!
Garand your videos are awesome. Recently while at training in the desert my Glock got stuck in my 6354DO holster due to small rocks and debris. I would recommend drilling a small hole to allow debris to fall out of the bottom of the holster if your going to be working in a desert environment.
I ordered this Holster last night From T-Rex 🦖 Arms. I love the fact that you can switch between setups in 2 seconds. I currently have a Viking Tactical Skirmish battle belt set up and a Riggers Belt Setup that I have for the Truck. My EDC is a Concealment Express Holster that I carry in the Appendix Carry. Like everyone else it take trial and error before you get the right set up. Thanks Garrand for the input.

I'm a professional who carries a sidearm for a living. I have this exact holster in the STX tactical finish I drop leg system overlay quick release strap. I freaking love it. Glock 19 with a light module perfect. I've tried low ride, I have tried low ride.... I've tried everything, and the only thing that's comfortable for me is the drop leg holster. I have extra long arms so wishing it's no problem. It's a dream riding in a vehicle with a drop leg. I absolutely love it. I uncomfortable with any other configuration of holster.
I need to look into this holster. My first and only experience with Safariland has been the 578 multi fit holster so I had something for my M&P9 M2.0 FDE. It's so easy to use with the retention lever activated by the middle finger as you grip the pistol to draw, it's fast, smooth and easy as hell to reholster. But I want something slightly better for my Glock 17 and 19.
I have a safari land level 2 retention holster similar to this one, the only differences are that mine is not red dot friendly and the release switch or "nub" as you called it is where my middle finger would be and I love it.
I may give the safariland a second look. When they first came out we were training and had two jam up a little and i never gave them another look. The retention mechanism looks VERY different on yours and the reholster is far better than any holster with a strap
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg and melted butter; mix until smooth. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake.

I know I'm not alone when I say I can't believe how much money I have spent on ultimately worthless firearms accessory's and equip. over the years!!! I had been using a leapers double strap , drop leg holster for years when I ran into somebody selling a pistol holster for $25. I thought at the time here we go another turd!! Well as it turned out it was a safariland wtd the rocker type retention system. double strap, drop leg. WOW!! it fit my Jericho 951 9mm like a glove!! I was blown away at the vastly superior quality of the Safariland holster. Cut my draw times in half!! Same with transition times ie.. rifle to pistol, pistol to rifle. Not everybody has employer supplemented funding available to them. Although in my opinion law enforcement should get WHATEVER the heck they need!! Sadly that's not reality. So I will be saving some $ for a new 6354DO thanks again for the vid. Dzride951

+22BStan actually I'm a PSC in Afghanistan and everyone pretty much wears whatever they want here. On this contract we have ex--rangers, 11b, 19d, etc, etc so everyone has their own preference of setup. The only thing that's become a joking stock is a couple of guys with fast helmet. Most of us wear some form of 5.11 pants because they're the most durable and reasonably priced, and majority of us where low top Merrels (like my self), Solomans, Lowas or some form of 6" combat boot.
I also use a Serpa holster and never had my finger accidentally hit the trigger. As my pistol gets drawn, my finger stays straight and lands right on my trigger guard! :)
The 6354DO required a bit of dremelling for the 17MOS holster received not that long ago. Also it was a bit hit and miss with surefireX300U if that end plate required a modification. On the plus side it is one of the few Safariland holsters that accept DG-11 switches without modification. On the whole though I have to agree once the mods are done it is a fantastic holster
I was waiting for a "If you've ever...... go ahead and subscribe" that I could legitimately say, "Yep, I have certainly done that... more than once" This was that video. I have subscribed.
I use run a Safariland (SL) holster for my duty pistol (H&K P7) when I worked for the DOE. Apparently, things have changed A LOT since then. Upon receiving my new SL holster for my Sig Sauer P320 x-carry Legion, the pistol did not seat all of the way. After about 30 minutes of fumbling around and cursing like a drunken sailor it was quite clear that SS Holster lacked fitment for the model told them I needed a holster for. It's my understanding that these holsters are not made in the USA and are made in Tijuanna Mexico and inspected for final fitment in Florida. I have since removed 'whatever the hell you call the end piece' where the tip of your barrel rest IOT to make it so my Sig will seat in all of the way. Problem I have now, is that my pistol has way too much breathing room when it's seated in the holster. I am not sure what to do at this point other than complain to Safariland "I hate complaining" and see what my options are. I do not want to have to send this back and wait weeks to get my holster back to find out it doesn't work again. Any advice?
